We were on our way back from Denver to Telluride and looking for a place to stay for a night. Salida Inn was in our price range so we decided to check it out. It is super close to the road, so you do hear a little traffic, but so were all the other hotels in the area. Regarding the room, it was a nice size, and I appreciate that there was no carpet since I have allergies. When we checked in, the guy at the front desk was very nice, and made a point that we had a good room. I would definitely stay there again.

Ok the internet makes it seem all the rooms have been renovated and I appreciate the effort...However.... 1) Fireplaces is taped off with garbage bag 2) The couch looks as if it's been around since 1970 3) Outlets are hard to find and not updated to accommodate charging electronic devices (bring a cube) 4) I HOPE we didn't bring home or were we exposed to bedbugs (didn't see them but it felt icky) 5) private patio is like 2 ft deep by 6 ft long and not anything you would want 6) each room is like a private little cottage which is cool but still needs updating 7)quiet nights sleep so I appreciated that In the end my husband gave it 3 I give it two. I feel like we should have been told the fireplace was taped off, there's no maid service until you leave, and that not all rooms have been renovated.

We enjoyed this place so much we booked and came twice in 2 weeks in July and August. We had our first room downstairs and second visit upstairs. Both rooms were very nice with great amenities and clean large spaces. The pillows are amazing. I almost bought one! The continental breakfast was quite good and they have their own roast of delicious coffee in the lobby in the mornings! I was surprised at how yummy it was. The value for the pool and hot tub and room size is awesome! Staff was also wonderful with extra towels and toilet needs for both 2 night stays. Even though it's a little out from downtown we were able to walk to the aquatic center, mini golf, and a couple of restaurants as well. We will be back here for sure!

Very clean and updated. The price was $89/night.

Few Blocks from downtown Salida and river. I am very particular about hotels I stay in. Needs to be super clean and bedding fresh and white sheets. This place is very clean , updated and fresh sheets. Only complaint was that The mattress is a bit hard, pillows a bit stiff. However, the price was very affordable for one night. Mt Princeton Hot Springs is a must try and made it all worthwhile.

It was the exact right vibes to celebrate my birthday. All of the details are so thoughtful. The rooms are clean and include a good size 'retro' mini fridge. The A/C kicks for a good, cold sleep. The beds are comfy and pillows are nice. It was a very quiet stay. I really don't have one bad thing to say about this spot. I really can't wait to come back again soon for another delightful stay! :)

We were lucky to grab a reservation for the night in one of the rooms, and had a long talk with Trinity at the front desk over everything at the motel. She was so friendly, accommodating, and informative. Come to find out the owners are from Austin, and it definitely gives those type of vibes forsure. I love seeing Texas influences here in Colorado. The whole motel was so well thought of and designed- from the airstreams to the lobby, the outdoor spaces and also the rooms we had everything we needed to have a nice and relaxing stay. It's a 3 minute drive to downtown Salida (pronounced Sa-lie-da as the sign outside states) where all kinds of shops/restaurants/breweries are, but also definitely check out Robins real close to the motel for a great breakfast or lunch spot. WiFi was great, bed was comfy and I got some great rest there. Will definitely book at Amigo Motor Lodge again next time we are in town! They really did such an amazing job renovating the motel in a cool modern type of way with a back home Texas twist to it.

Lucky for us, Silver Ridge had a two-queen room at a much lower rate. Whizzing by on US 50, it looks like a run of the mill old motel. Nope. Rooms have been renovated. Ours was clean and looked nice inside. What we liked: Full size fridge/freezer Hot tub: It's reserve-in-advance by room in 30 minute blocks. No smelly tweakers, couples making out, or loud kids to kill the buzz (and enough chemicals to kill all germs). Our roomy shower had thick glass doors, preferable to a curtain. The self-operated pancake machine in the breakfast area was a fave of our kiddos, who could watch the pancake on a conveyor belt. Just ok: Breakfast was hit or miss. Biscuits/gravy were my fave. Pancakes did the trick. Coffee was fine. However, my scrambled egg discs were cold and the sausage patty tasted too weird to eat. Fruit, milk, OJ, and standard Continental fare were included, too. Bonus: The recent model smart tv was loaded with apps, but you have to login with your own credentials. People forgot to log out of Disney, Prime, and Netflix. While we have each of these, it's nice to have access if you don't already have them. The Salida Aquatic Center sits across the road if you want some hot spring-fed waters. Overall, Silver Ridge combines nicer-than-expected accommodations at a lower price than nearby chains while maintaining the intimate feel and personal touch of a local business.
