Roco is horrible and lies with his social media propaganda. Also, every store pick I've had from there is awful. Jason Ornellas has a horrible palate and has no business doing picks. I went in here for a friend who had ordered an item from Southern California . This item was from 2021 but I had all the documentation that the shipper stated the item was damaged and to contact the seller. I speak to Ro who tells me he is the manager . He is annoyed because the order is from 2021. I explain that she has called numerous times and no one will answer the phone .I show him a email she has sent to the business . He tells me they no longer has access to that email . He ask me for the order number and says he doesn't have time to do all that research . I had my phone video turned on at this point because his behavior seemed unprofessional .I asked him to just replace the bottle or give her a refunded . He tells me no how does he know the item was damaged . I show him the email from the shipping company again . I tell him that I will contact ABC . He is in business and apart of that is handling unhappy customers . Here is where it gets pretty nasty the gentleman , I use that word loosely, start swearing and yelling at me . I reply that is not how you speak to a woman or anyone. I do not raise my voice and I leave to seek resolution somewhere else . My husband and I had frequented this establishment a lot to locate decent bourbon since moving here from Kentucky. We went in today and noticed once again they had nothing of any interest you can't find at your local grocery on the shelves. I decided to ask the guy, who has waited on us many times before, if they had any Weller bourbon considering they post it all over their Instagram page like it's readily available to purchase. He responded with "No, I don't even know what that is?", in a rude tone. We bought a six pack to just be polite since we were there then left. 30 mins later my husband gets on Instagram and they had just posted their bull crap "power moves Saturday" post with a Man, with not one, but two different bottles of Weller bourbon being purchased. Then when I decided to comment on said post, they decided to hide it. Needless to say, unless you are in this place every week and make friends with the rotating staff, you will not get anything worth the drive to this spot. Don't fall for their social media posts, they don't have anything on the shelves and they will flat lie to your face and say they don't have whatever would be worth going there if you try to ask for it. Ro is INCREDIBLY unprofessional. Although they do not ship out of state he told me over the phone he would make an exception. I immediately paid and he said he would ship it out two days later on Sept 4. When I called to check the status the following week I kept getting the run around and his employees kept telling me he was not there and they were unsure of the status. I told him it would be no problem since he had not shipped it yet, but the fedex store is 3 mins away from their location so I'm not sure what the deal was. When I finally go ahold of him, and waited a reasonable 17 days for my order, he stated it 'was' shipped Wednesday (but would not say a date) and it was 'lost' so he is filing a frivolous claim with fedex to receive the cost of the bottle back. He never did, nor would, give me the alleged tracking number and BLAMED ME for even requesting the out of state shipping in the first place! He is VERY unprofessional and was incredibly rude to me. This store is NOT VETERAN FRIENDLY! Bad business, you should be ashamed how you treat people. And just so everyone is clear, I did say "no worries" but the order was placed on Sept 2, should've been shipped on the 4th and I hadn't heard from them since so I was trying to be polite. Coolest, weirdest spot ever! So, I don't drink beer, but I can appreciate ALL THE BEERS! They offer a huge selection. Half of their business is a tap room, the other half is like a small liquor store with more beer + wine + spirits! Luckily for me, they have wine in a can or I can buy a whole bottle from the liquor store side and enjoy. The best thing is you can drink in their tap room or you can use their patio to enjoy your adult beverage. They also have snacks and candies if you need something to accompany your beverage. Also, I don't think they even care if you bring food with you and buy their dranks and enjoy it in their establishment or on their patio. They have cornhole too if you need some outdoor entertainment. They also play music on the patio AND have a TV inside. However, you can see the TV from the outside too, which is awesome for sports viewing! Pls, remember I referred to one half as a liquor store, not a Bev Mo! This place is merchandised to achieve maximum offerings in their tiny location. It isn't fancy, by any means, but it carries tons of stuff. Stuff, as in the stuff you'll find for all type of adult beverage drinkers. Overall, this is a dope little neighborhood spot! Great for the beer lovers. I occasionally arrive at Tsuki Sushi (recommended) before opening and buy a bottle at Roco while killing time. It is a decent bottle shop with a good selection for a small shop. After browsing I picked up a 750 ml Frey Ranch Bourbon. It was $100 and I hadn't done any research beforehand, so I bit the bullet and paid. Afterwards, I did some searching and the bottle was $50 from the Frey Ranch web site and $40 everywhere else. OK. Lesson learned. Next time I am early to sushi, I will just run into Lowe's instead. read more

We ordered the Whiskey of the Month special online, which they push pretty actively through social media and their website, so we figured this was their preferred method and we've been wanting to check them out for a while. Got the email order confirmation which didn't really contain much info other than our confirmation, order#, and the note that "your order is being processed". So fast forward a few days later and we never received a note to tell us that our order is ready, so, we decided to call. First call we did, they told us to call back at 3pm. Okay, fine. Gentleman on the phone didn't sound like he could speak English all that well so we would try again later. Called back and they said "we don't have your order." We insisted that we had ordered online and were told, "we'll call back in 5 mins." We never got a call. We called AGAIN and we're met with the same rude "we have your order. Come pick it up." We didn't provide a name, an order number...nothing! So we just decided to drive over and pick up. Gentleman at the counter was on the phone the entire time and really seemed to be bothered by us. We had placed two orders but he didn't really listen to us so took a while to get him to understand what we were saying. Again...we didn't give a name or order number. Just showed him our email which he barely looked at. It was just all a bit strange. I understand this is a small business and possibly family run so my recommendation is that they possibly try and update the messaging for their order confirmations or add somewhere online that "your order will be ready in X amount of days" or something like that so that your customers aren't left guessing when we can pick up, etc. This will save your staff from having answer calls and your customers won't be confused read more

What a gem hidden in an unexpected shopping center! From a glance, it appears this is just another convenience store, but be not deceived! This is a premium liquor store with a ton of hard to find beers and whiskeys AND a tap room to boot! Come enjoy a fresh draft from one of as many as 30 beers on tap, buy a 4- or 6-pack of a rare find craft brew or two, and peruse the aisles of fantastic whiskey options that you won't easily find in many big box beverage stores. The owner, Ro Nayyar, is a member of the River City Whiskey Society, and hosts amazing events both in his shop and in nearby local restaurants. This local shop hands down has THE best beer selection around Sacramento that I've personally have been to. They rotate their beers pretty frequently, so that is a huge plus in terms of trying out new beer and you can always try a taster from the tap room to get the vibe of the beer(if they have it). I don't often post reviews, but the customer service at this place is so terrible I felt compelled to. I ordered an item for delivery last month. It has been almost 30 days, and I still haven't received it. Every time I tried calling, I got the run-around. The staff asked me to email the owner for a status update, and so I did. I have now tried 3 times and did not get a response. It is disappointing. I tend to spend a lot on high-end liquor every month and I was looking for a good online store to order from. Their online selection seemed great but given their service, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. If you drink a beer there he shoots you 10% off your purchases in the store. Here's my beef. He lies and tries to get over. Promotes his beer online. Never posts prices. I've shown up there stuff is nowhere to be found. Could be sold out but it's likely hidden. You gotta ask him about prices on some of the 4 packs. Then they change it at the register. And lastly, that 10% off deal? yeah, he burned me the last time on that and we had 3 beers in his little tap shop. Roco "Ro" is amazing. I am glad that I discovered his shop. He is well connected with many local breweries and then some, and seems to always have one, if not the best selection of Whiskey and beer. If you are looking to pickup local beers and don't want to drive all over town for new releases from all the local breweries, this is the place to go. Somehow, he manages to stock new releases that the local breweries drop on a consistent basis. I have not had a chance to partake, but on occasion, there are wine and spirits tastings which is nice if you are curious about venturing into a new bottle but unsure if you will like it. This gives you a chance to try before you buy. You will not be disappointed from what i have heard. In addition, this is the only shop I know of that also has a taproom. His list of beers on tap is always on rotation with a great variety of local beers. The last time I was in the taproom, there were 20 beers on tap. Another chance to try before you buy as he usually has cans in stock of many beers that are on tap. The taproom is chill and a decent size for being just a passthrough away from the store. Selection can be awesome but there are too many products not refrigerated and some that have been there far too long. It's a small space but he does do a good job of making it presentable and fairly easy to move around. His father or the older gentlemen's consistent repeating of "you the boss young man" starts out funny but becomes cliche and a bit annoying. Owner is hit or miss on being social or friendly. The taproom I visited once a few weeks ago. I'm no snob and I can be happy in most any place but this place just looked beat, run down, dirty and the beer pours were too expensive for the pour size. Like $8 for a 12oz single ipa. Naw... No reason to visit the taproom again in my opinion with so many better maintained establishments. If I could give this place 1/2 star or even no star at all I would, based largely on customer experience. The kid of the owner who is running the place during Covid is consistently rude. Im a local who has spent good money in there for years when his dad was running the place. Their beer selection is always outdated and often overpriced. Be sure to check the dates on the cans or play at your own risk! I don't have this issue on any kind of consistent basis at final gravity, la riviera, Curtis Park. Heck, even the local supermarkets (Raleys and Nugget) tend to carry fresher options. As far as liquor shops go, his weekly 2 for 1 specials are sometimes decent, but he gets poor allocations and makes it overly difficult to obtain bottles unless you spend big bucks on a weekly basis. Generally, his liquor stock is pretty slim in general. Finally, the beer bar (currently non operational due to Covid) has a consistently mediocre (and, surprise, overpriced) selection and rarely had local stuff on tap when it was open! Bike Dog is a half mile away and I've never seen it on tap!! Same goes for Track 7, Jackrabbit, and Yolo. Way to support your local, fellow small businesses! I have been going here for the netter part of four years and I love this place. The guy that owns it is one of the most chill, nice people ever. He always remembers us and when coronavirus hit, he would deliver drinks to our door himself and was always so friendly. They have an excellent selection of liquor and some great craft beers, and they are always willing to answer questions and make suggestions. Simply one of the coolest bottle shops that I have ever been to. RoCo is in a strip mall right next to a Lowe's Building Center in the South Port area of West Sacramento. A few months ago they added a taproom with 25 handles focusing on the craft beer world. The owner, Rohit, is the force behind the greatness to be found in this place. He puts in so much time into finding craft beers and whiskeys it's crazy. He also does, in my opinion, a fantastic job marketing his business on social media himself. The taproom itself is small. It might fit 35 people tops. But it has a spacious patio area. Be forewarned, it is 21 and older. Leave the kids elsewhere when coming to drink here. A dying pleasantry in the Sacramento area. In order to maintain so many handles, Rohit uses mostly smaller kegs. At first I didn't like that. So often the popular beers are gone 2 or 3 days after being tapped. It's actually a great thing in disguise. You get surprised with something different every visit this way, and that is kind of neat. Another very cool element to this shop is that they don't look down their noses at anyone for what they like to drink. As a matter of fact they enjoy helping a person who has only had the mass marketed stuff and might be interested in tasting smaller batch high quality beers to step into a new world. So if you're tired of that Coor's Light and want to see what your snooty friends are drinking without feeling alienated, this is THE PLACE in the Sacramento area to do exactly that. read more

I don't know what's up with the haters. If you are a hophead, you know RoCo is the top place for craft beer in Sacramento. There are a few other places, Capital Tap Room and Corti's that is in that rarified air as well, but Ro never fails to surprise with something you can't find anywhere else. Somebody was bitching that there didn't seem like there was any rhyme or reason to how beers are stocked. Another said there wasn't pricing on everything. Yet another said the beers were past their expiration. So for those folks, let me clue you in. Their stock is constantly changing. They get beers that no one else does and often in limited supply. Ro posts on social media and things move so quick if you see something you like, you better get your butt down there. Beer that comes in on Monday, is on the shelf on Monday and may or may not still be available on Tuesday. To stop and price and rearrange shelves, well, you figure it out. Finally, most beers don't have expirations, they have brew dates. What you should do is relax and take your time and don't think you can just pop in and grab a sixer. Well, you can but you're missing something. Instead, head to the coolers for the IPA's, and Imperial IPA's, as well as the specialty bombers. That selection is always changing, but you can usually find the local breweries selections and a whole bunch of limited release brews. On the aisles, it can be a a little confusing, but take your time and it will become clear. Usually you find the stouts and porters and some real specialty stuff like a 1000 IBU IPA (tried it...about what you would expect). Ro is the man and he knows his beers. If he's not there, the other guys aren't as knowledgeable, but they are very helpful. I went in looking for a particular IPA and not finding it, asked the older gentleman and he brought me into the cooler to see if I could spot it - and I did (it had just come in that afternoon). Other times, Ro has set aside limited stuff for his favored customers and as I get to the counter, the guys will ask if I'm interested in, say, a Bourbon County Stout. Why yes, yes I am. The last time I was in, I had picked up a couple bombers and Ro grabbed a four pack of two other beers, an IPA and a pale ale, that I had never tried and said i had to have them. Those beers were awesome and I guarantee you I would never have tried them on my own. Finally Ro does know his stuff. He also owns a hop farm and is pretty well regarded in the brewing industry. Again, if you take your time and don't rush, you'll find that they are all really nice and RoCo's really is a gem. I saw a post on Instagram that a guy had driven from the Bay Area to stock up on beer. That should tell you something. I can't speak to the other liquor there. My tastes run to red wines and scotch, both of which I have particular preferences and tend to buy through my own sources. read more
