Was nicely shaded and did not get too hot. They also had these private wooden booths that you could eat in - not too much space, but they are good if you have a dog that might get easily excited by lots of activity around. I've popped in here a few times with my coworkers for coffee and a bite. I've been here during the winter, no problem they have soace heaters in the patio. And recently I've been here on the first day of Spring, weather was still muld enough to enjoy the patio and the vibez. Fair prices, good stuff on food menu and delicious drinks. I have had their iced matcha several times and I always enjoy it. I've tried several food items and my favorites so far are the grilled cheese sandwich and the tuna melt. The bread is die for! My companion also had a latte and we agreed the drinks here outshine the usual corporate options. Food: The menu is simple and thoughtful. I ordered the tuna melt -- warm, melty, and satisfying -- and my daughter had a hefty Japanese-style egg sandwich with ham that was delightfully substantial. Their cookies are excellent (chewy with great texture). The cake in the case looked gorgeous -- dark chocolate with a drizzle -- and I'll be back to try it. Service and atmosphere: Staff were friendly and attentive without any corporate rush. The patrons were also very friendly -- we even ran into Girl Scouts selling cookies, so there are cute little community events that pop up. The space encourages lingering with comfy indoor seating and a covered outdoor lounge area, plus a tidy, well-lit counter and display. Extras: They sell unique little items and pantry finds that add to the boutique neighborhood feel. Bathrooms were clean and everything felt well kept. Will I return: Absolutely. Super cute cafe with plenty of parking and outdoor seating located in the West Sacramento area. I ordered an iced vanilla bean latte with oat milk and it was delicious. We came for brunch and noticed the ordering area was a bit small, but they have a spacious outdoor patio tucked behind the shop. When we arrived, there was a line, but we decided to wait since we had come all the way into West Sacramento. They also have their own private parking, which makes it really convenient. We ordered a latte, mocha, breakfast burrito, and Pullman toast. After ordering, they gave us a number and brought the food to our table, which was a nice touch. They use Temple coffee beans, and both drinks were smooth and satisfying. The figs paired beautifully with the toast, and the breakfast burrito was hearty and filling. On Saturday, my husband went to Emile's Cafe and came home with an indulgent spread of two delicious salted butterscotch and huckleberry lattes, a breakfast sandwich, breakfast burrito, lox bagel with forgotten bakery bagels (the best bagels in the area in my opinion), and a chocolate pastry of some sort. Wow, wow, wow. I've never had a huckleberry latte but it was fantastic, the bagel with lox was so fresh, the pastry was so flaky and buttery, and my husband loved the breakfast sandwich (which came with a sweet aioli and jalepeno jam that was so yummy) - he enjoyed the burrito too. On Sunday, I went myself to Emile's with two girlfriends and enjoyed some delicious jasmine green iced tea and a yoghurt parfait (the granola was freshly made and so good!) The owners have done such a great job not only with the amazing food and beverage selection, but vibe was so warm, friendly, and welcoming from the moment you walk in (probably because it's owned by 3rd generation West Sac locals - the same awesome owners as Whitey's!!). read more

Since this cafe is locally owned, we decided to give it a try. The prices were pretty steep and the menu is limited. They are working in a tight space which explains the limited menu. Since it is small space it is also very stuffy and hot which made it harder to enjoy the drinks - even iced. We ordered the peach latte but there wasn't any sign of peach flavoring. The sandwiches are standard - nothing stood out except the price. There is plenty of parking so that's a plus. Staff are also pleasant which is always a perk. I love Emile's Cafe and I had the greatest experience here earlier this week. When you first get here, you are greeted with a space that looks like a modern day barn. With a blue/turquoise logo and red umbrellas out front, it gives it a nice pop of color that makes this place so Instagrammable. I would say the inside is mainly for ordering and waiting for your drink if you're taking it to-go, but it's perfectly laid out to where you don't feel cramped inside. There's indoor seating, but who wants to sit indoors when THERE'S AN ENTIRELY BEAUTIFUL BACK PATIO TO ENJOY! This was probably one of the few main reasons why I wanted to check this place out in the first place. If there's one thing about me, I LOVE me some outdoor seating at a cafe. They have a big open space and lots of shaded seating, perfect for gatherings (in fact they hold reserved events here sometimes). I love that the patio faces the trees. If you just ignore the houses being built off to the right, you literally feel like you're transported into a cafe in the woods. I cannot wait to be here during fall and read a book here. Onto the service and food-- Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I got to do a quick interview for socials and speak with Kevin and he was such a gem of a person. I ordered an Iced Vanilla bean Latte and a croissant from their pastry rack. I usually order the vanilla latte as a safe coffee because it's a classic, and I'm glad I did. There's just some places that do coffee right, and this is one of them. The croissant was soft and had a perfect flaky crisp on the outside. I've been searching long and hard for a place in Sac that sells morning buns, and THEY HAVE IT! You'll definitely see me here again soon to order that and some actual breakfast and lunch items the next time I'm here. Overall so good, and deserves so much more hype. I'm pretty torn about this review because Emile's has so much potential! Came around 9:30 am on a Sunday and the parking lot was super crowded- it's shared with the playground, so understandably busy. We were able to get a spot after looping around twice. There is residential parking, but down the block. Inside is super cute but fairly small- we waited in line for about 15-20 minutes. On our way out the line was wrapped around the building! We ordered and went to go sit on the back patio, which is super spacious! They bring the orders outside and call your name so you don't have to wait inside. What we got: Almond croissant- they get their baked goods from a bakery in Oakland, but I think we got a bad batch. There was very little filling and it tasted like it had been toasted then left out. Hard and a little stale. Breakfast burrito- love the concept, but it was severely under seasoned. Used the entire salsa container and could've used another Hot oat milk mocha- I love a hardly-sweet mocha, but you could barely taste the chocolate! The foam was also a little too bubbly for my taste Iced vanilla oat milk latte- this is my go-to at every coffee shop to gauge for quality. They use temple coffee beans, which is awesome, but this wasn't really anything special. They advertise a house made vanilla bean syrup, but I think it's just plain vanilla- no bean pod flecks. Total after tax and tip was $36.03- a bit steep for the quality. I'm wishing them lots of success and will give them another try after they've had time to settle in! read more

Really wanted to love this spot but I don't think I'll be back anytime soon! It's such a cute place, a bit of a random location and a bit of a drive for us, and the best part is there is a playground and plenty of outdoor seating - great for families! But unfortunately the drinks just didn't meet the rest of the standards for us. I'd probably give less stars if it wasn't for the nice ambiance. My Peaches and Cream latte had zero peach flavor whatsoever and was just too watery in general. The regular latte was the same, which was disappointing since we thought it would be good, since they use Temple Coffee. My recent trip to Emile's yielded a nugget of info that made me appreciate them even more! Their pastries are awesome. Like I don't know where they get them but I must find out awesome. Living in the Sacramento area I haven't really found pastries that wowed me (exception being Ginger Elizabeth's). To be fair, I lived down the street from b patisserie in SF for over a decade so I am admittedly spoiled. But my first croissant at Emile's made me pause because it was delicious with a buttery, crispy light bite that I hadn't had before. Turns out, they source from a Bay Area bakery. I thought it was on the higher price range given they use beans from Temple and not their own beans, but you can tell the quality of their homemade syrups is great. Sweet new cafe opened in West Sacramento. Named after long time west sac resident, Emile "Whitey". The family continues his namesake and opened this cafe. The ambiance is amazing. Tons of outdoor seating. The white and wood barn style is great. It's so nice to sit back and relax especially if the sun is shining. It's counter service and they bring the food or drinks to you. I got the cardamom and pistachio iced latte with a turkey sandwich. The sandwich was huge and definitely able to share. The bread was focaccia and little on the dryer side but paired really nicely with the turkey and avocado. The latte was an interesting flavor. They use temple coffee for their drinks so it has fruity notes, the pistachio was a little hidden but the cardamom really shined which I enjoyed. A lot of people came on their bikes so whether you are meeting a friend or need a little pick me up on your bike ride this is the place to come. read more

Peaches, peaches, peaches!!! Obsessed with the peach trend right now. Had to try out this new spot in West Sac and was not disappointed! It has a gorgeous patio with lots of warm tones and greenery. The toast was so delicious. It was toasted perfectly and the peaches were soft and juicy. The matcha wasn't too sweet and the peach syrup (made in house) and just the right amount of tang! I really wanted to love this spot, but my first visit left me with mixed feelings. The space itself is stunning, every detail inside feels thoughtfully designed, and the patio is definitely a nice option if you're looking for a spot to relax or get some work done. One of the things that drew me in was how the café is marketed online. It looked like a kid-friendly, nature-surrounded place with lots of open space. In reality, the café is currently surrounded by construction (Sept. 2025), so the noise and environment don't match what's shown on their social channels. Of course, that's not their fault, but it did make the experience feel different than what I expected. For food and drinks, I tried the morning bun, which ended up being too sweet for my taste, and a pumpkin pie latte. The latte was okay, but since they use Temple coffee (which isn't my favorite among local roasters), it didn't really stand out. On top of that, the person taking our order wasn't especially warm or welcoming, which made the experience feel less inviting, but the guys serving were awesome. That said, I don't want to completely write this place off. The café itself is very cool, and I think it has potential. I'm open to giving it another shot on a different day, but based on this first impression, it's not somewhere I'd recommend to others just yet. read more

Yesterday, I visited Emile's Cafe in West Sacramento and enjoyed my experience. The moment I walked in, I was impressed by the clean, modern décor--it instantly reminded me of Magnolia's coffee shop in Waco, Texas, with its design/atmosphere. One of the highlights is that they serve coffee supplied by Temple Coffee Roasters, which is always delicious and a real treat for coffee lovers. The rich flavors in my cup were exactly what I was hoping for. I also enjoyed the Toasted Caprese sandwich. The staff were kept busy with a constant stream of customers right up to their closing time at 3 pm. I look forward to visiting again and with time am hopeful the staff working the register seems less anxious and more at ease with customers. Overall, Amille's Coffee Shop is a fantastic new addition to West Sacramento. With excellent coffee, beautiful décor, and lovely outdoor seating, I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area! We've been patiently waiting and eagerly anticipating for Emile's Café to open in Heritage Oaks Park, and it's been worth every minute! From the same corner of owners who bring you Whitey's Jolly Cone (originally started by Emile "Whitey" Boisclair back in the 1960s), this adorable little café is such a gem for our West Sacramento community. Emile's Café is perfectly nestled in Heritage Oaks Park with plenty of outdoor seating, a few tables out front, and even a cute playground for the kids right outside! Emile's is exactly the kind of place you hope to find in your neighborhood but rarely do. It's clean, intentional, and actually delivers on the things most places just pretend to care about. I had the peach and ricotta toast and a cardamom latte. Both were excellent. The toast was simple but elevated. Whipped ricotta on thick-sliced toast with perfectly ripe peaches and just enough honey to bring it together. The latte was made with their cardamom syrup, which they actually make in-house; not something you see often, and it shows. The flavor was smooth and balanced. Not overly sweet, not too heavy-handed on the spice. Just right. Their pastries are brought in fresh daily from Firebrand Bakery in Oakland, and the case was full of things I actually wanted to eat. The space inside is bright and well-organized, with subtle design choices that feel more like someone cared than someone tried to be trendy. Outside, the shaded patio blends right into the surrounding trees, and it doesn't feel overdone or artificial. It just works. Location-wise, it's perfectly placed. It's connected directly to the Newport Estates neighborhood and sits right next to Heritage Oaks Park. That means a lot of local families can walk here, and the adjacent playground makes it easy to bring your kids without stress. It's a place that fits into real life. What stood out most was how grounded the whole experience felt. Nothing flashy, just quality thoughtful food, thoughtful service, and a physical space that respects the people who show up. We live near here and we actually had to meet someone for a business appointment this week. The shop is nice amd bustle-y. I ordered a London Fog (earl grey latte with vanilla and oat milk), hubs got a regular coffee...and they tasted wonderful. They serve Temple coffee here, so if you like that roast, you can find it at Emile's. My hubs was excited to find out they serve soup and its in time for the winter season! Their breakfast sandwich is yummy, our daughter has had the avocado toast here, and a breakfast burrito was a hit with us.
