The sides were delicious. I haven't had beans that delicious since I was in Rio. The waitstaff was polite and accommodating. We had a table near a window, so although the interior was a little dark, we never noticed. It was "western" themed decor which paired well with BBQ. Everything was perfect. I was so hungry and excited to visit. I insisted to sit at the bar with my friend and to be honest felt a little bit out of place but the staff jumped right in. We had a late, leisurely lunch (over 2 hours!) there today. It was my 74th birthday and, since I grew up in Brazil in the late 50'and 60's, I wanted to celebrate with the comfort foods I still cherish. Rodeio did not disappoint. Since they are more of a gaucho style (southern Brazil) rodizio they did not have my beloved pao de queijo (a staple in the central region of Brazil), but everything else was great! A somewhat limited but adequate and very tasty salad bar with perfectly prepared fresh asparagus, couve, mushrooms, palm hearts, beets, several salads, etc started us off. The meats were well seasoned, perfectly cooked and a good variety. The sides of traditional rice and beans, french fries (SUPERB!) and fried bananas were so tasty. A good selection of beers, caipirinhas with REAL cachaca (cane rum) were to be had. The service was great, very attentive and friendly. I had a nice chat with our waiter, Guilhermo (Gil), sharing memories of growing up in Brazil. The environment was clean, not fancy but comfortable. I think it is also worth noting almost all of the other patrons were speaking Brazilian Portuguese, a testimony to the authenticity of the food. We will return. ***UPDATE*** So I wrote a previous update awhile back. Not much has changed since my last review. Quality is still there. And though it was recently renovated, it still a little hole in the wall type feel. But one major thing has changed and not for the best: the price. Since I've been living in the area for a few years now, this was my go to place. Great food and very affordable. But since post-covid, this place is like going to some fancy NYC restaurant, but with out the NYC feel. Just the prices. This place is known for their rodizio. But with that said, their prices for a single person is about $47 dollars. So for a party of 2 with drinks, your gonna be set back an easy $150. Now imagine a family of 4? Yikes! I remember when this place had the rodizio at around $25. And that wasn't that long ago. I have to mention though, they do have other things on the menu that isn't rodizio that's a bit cheaper. But what's the point of going to this place if you ain't getting the rodizio? I guess my point is for a hole in the wall type of place that relies heavily on its regulars, the price point sure is making it hard to come back. Maybe once or 2x a year? Maybe never? The rodizio meats the other tables got looked and smelled good, but not the meat in the menu items. The ribeye steak very thin and not juicy. Upon visiting on a Saturday afternoon, it was pretty packed. There were people waiting by the entrance but no one to really greet us or write out names down for the waitlist. I thought that was weird but we had eventually gotten seated. There were options to order the entrees or got the typical rodizio where they go around with cuts of meats to serve you. If you go with that option, they give you sides of fried bananas, rice, fries and there a mini salad bar (emphasize on the mini). The meats here were a bit too salty for my liking. It made me want to devour more rice and fried bananas so I got full quicker. The beef ribs and sirloin were my favorites. The skirt steak was kinda tough but it was packed with so much flavor that it made up for it. The service here could've been better, our waiter was nice but he was just busy. Although Rodeio doesn't look like much from the outside, it is very substantial on the inside. My bestie knew about it somehow and took me there. We have been several times now. If you like meat, this is your restaurant. They just keep bringing out more and more and more of it. It's all barbecued and cooked better than I could ever do at home. That includes salad bar, rice, beans, and also delicious friend bananas. I think the price is reasonable for what you get. The servers are also very sweet, helpful, and nice. I really liked them. There's just a chill, laid-back atmosphere at Rodeio in general. A fantastic rodizio that offers other entrees as well. It was a great choice for us because only 2 of us (a party of 5) wanted rodizio. The meats were all well-seasoned, tasted amazing, and were cooked to perfection! They offered plenty of options with lots of different cuts of steak, sausage, and chicken. And the service was impeccable! Our server and the "meat guys" were readily available and super friendly. The salad bar was mediocre, but that was the very least of my concerns. The other 3 in our party all loved their entrees, as well. The dessert menu offer lots of tasty options. The entire menu is very reasonably priced compared to other rodizios. The do serve alcohol, which is nice. While I didn't have any, my wife really enjoyed her sangria. The restaurant itself is nothing fancy, but it was neat and clean. Not one person there wasn't smiling when we walked in; everyone was super friendly and attentive to us. Because of the excellent service and DELICIOUS all you can eat food, I am giving 5 stars. I do not want to tarnish a business while they're trying to rebuild after COVID so I wanted to bring a few things to attention that some people might not realize. 1. The prices online state that the all you can eat "Brazilian Steakhouse" experience is $34.99, but it's actually $42. I'm assuming that prices went up due to COVID, but that's every industry at this point. 2. The salad bar was a little on the smaller side; quite smaller than other restaurants like this. Again, I'm guessing that because it was the middle of the week and due to the uptick in the price of food, it couldn't be as extensive as it could be. Was disappointed at first, but they gave us so many sides and toppings I couldn't be mad! 3. I learned today that Brazilians typically use a lot of salt and garlic in their dishes. Pretty decent Brazilian Rodizio that I am glad we checked out! This is a smaller place sandwiched in a neighborhood so don't blink you may miss it. It's also BYOB, a huge plus. We came on a Friday night, it never got terribly busy but we ate early at around 6pm. The salad bar was pretty small and didn't offer much, but do you really come here for the salad? They have two options for the meats, one with top sirloin, skirt steak and another meat and one without those, it's about a $6 different. The wife got the cheaper one and I of course wanted all the meats. I tried every single one, a couple twice. Some were better than others, the chicken options were all good and not try. Some of the steak was a little tough but overall very good, the corned beef was excellent as well as the pork and beef ribs. Those were my top choices, the skirt steak also very good but I couldn't cram much more in my stomach. The little sides they give you, beans, pepper/vinegar mix, fries, rice and fried bananas were also all excellent. What I liked most is that none of the meat was overly salty which happens a lot at rodizos. The service was absolutely excellent everyone was so helpful and friendly. Literally by the end of the meal they were holding our toddler. They were playing with her and keeping her busy while we stuffed our face. Talk about service! I had a great time at Rodeio! The staff does a great job of interacting with their guests. The Rodizio is where it is at if you do not know what to order! You get a wide variety of meats brought out to you on long sword-like skewers. Some of the meats included - bacon wrapped filet mignon, top sirloin, roast beef, chicken heart, bacon wrapped chicken breast, skirt steak, and chorizo (I may be missing one or two). Be sure to pace yourself, so that you can enjoy the meat parade in all of its glory. The meat parade includes salad bar, rice, beans, and deep-fried banana - all for about $20. I read many reviews online ranting and raving about the grilled pineapple, and apparently they do not serve it anymore. I was told if you choose to bring in your own pineapple they will grill it and put the cinnamon on for flavor as they used to serve it. A great family restaurant for any occasion! read more

The difference between here and Sabor do Brasil is that they serve table-side rodizio and have quite a larger selection when it comes to meat. You an expect to find some variation of sausage, chicken legs, picanha, skirt steak, sirloin and garlic steak, short ribs, pork ribs, pork loin, roast beef, brisket, corned beef, turkey wrapped in bacon, filet mignon wrapped in bacon, and even lamb. My favorite cuts are the chicken legs with garlic sauce, the picanha (top sirloin), and skirt steak as they usually have just the right amount of saltiness. Further comparisons would be that Rodeio's salad bar are a tad inferior to Sabor, but is still an excellent bargain and worth a visit for meat-lovers. read more

Now the meats, ugh small pieces of dark meat chicken, sirloin (?) steak, pork loin & something that was supposed to be corned beef. Not cooked properly overseasoned, extremely salty. It's been a loooong time since I had rodizio (Brazilian BBQ, AKA "The Meat Parade"). Lucky for me, some friends that I hadn't seen in a while came over and had the idea to try something new / different. Brazilian bbq was mentioned, and it was off to the internet to desperately find a place that I wouldn't feel embarrassed taking a group of people to, especially quite a few who've never had the cuisine before. After much deliberation and searching, we settled on Rodeio. From the outside, despite the big text of "Brazilian BBQ", the decor struck me as kind of country-western. Not to be deterred, we went in and all ordered the rodizio, which came with a salad bar. The salad bar was small, but varied enough to not be boring. There were quite a few seafood based salads, a vinaigrette that tasted a lot like salsa criolla (a Peruvian onion and vinegar salad), and a few other veggies. Not bad, but that wasn't what I came here for, so I kept the salad to a minimum. The meats started coming out shortly after - all flame roasted over a large charcoal grill, a nice touch that added some extra flavor, as opposed to the standard gas grills many places use. The food was all seasoned well and not overly salty, something I was appreciative of, since my previous ventures into the Brazilian food genre have been some of the saltiest food I've ever had. The sausages could use a little work, and were probably the lowest part of the meal, while the beef ribs, corned beef, and various steaks were fantastic. Service was friendly, and they obviously took pride in their product. I'll be going back, and hopefully next time will be just as good. The beans had a fire cooked flavor that I've never had, but my friend said they tasted like his grandma's beans. That's a pretty good compliment. My meal came with 3 cuts of steak. I could only finish one. (this is why I didn't get the meat parade) After eating, I thought I was going to explode. I felt like I was at an amazing cookout. A FANTASTIC MEAL!! We were looking for an all-you-can eat Brazilian bbq without venturing to Newark or the city, and decided to give this a try. It was a great experience. We chose the option with the skirt steak & beef tips and it was definitely the way to go. Our favorite cuts were unanimously the skirt steak, garlic top sirloin, beef ribs, and the chicken leg. All the choices were well seasoned, tender, and delicious. Although we stuffed ourselves on enough meats to get the sweats, all four of us agreed that the fried bananas (not plantains, bananas) were just as amazing and couldn't stop eating them. But it didn't stop there. Just as we had thrown in the flag and couldn't stand to eat another bite of meat, we all regrouped and asked for the dessert menu; and boy were we glad we did! What we ordered next was just the perfect finale to a great meal. We had the coconut flan and the passion fruit mousse. I can't wait to go back just to try the other desserts! Had dinner there chose to have the Rodizio, the staff is friendly the food was excellent. One poster mentioned it was $20 in fact it is $25 per person. Free salad bar ( small but nice) You can tell this is frequented by locals. We are local but the only people there that were not Brazilian. Well you know what they say if Brazilians eat here it must be authentic and good. The one thing that us a shame is that since it is all you can eat, no leftovers can be taken. A couple in a nearby table asked if they could because they did not want to waste the meat, it was literally 2 small pieces the shame was the restaurant would rather throw it in the garbage then give it. read more
