My teeth were not nearly as bad as I thought but the scars from childhood scared me anyway from being able to just go to the dentist and not worry about it. In the past I would have food get stuck between my teeth where the crowns were, but Dr. Akins fixed that issue. I was having to floss 3 times a day for years and now I only do it once a day at night. I called Southern Illinois Pediatric dentist and the staff was incredibly sweet and helpful. They were able to get us in the next day. The hygienists and dentist were fantastic working with a 12 month old. I'm sure that filing down a tooth on a baby is similar to wrangling a cat. They educated us in what we would need to look out for as she got older. We've been back twice since then for cleanings, and I have been impressed with the office and medical staff every time. We moved further away from Columbia but we'll continue to drive the distance to stay with the practice.
