We absolutely love coming here whenever we visit the Stockyards! It's become one of our favorite stops because of the great live music, delicious drinks, snacks and the overall atmosphere. There's always such a fun, welcoming vibe that makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the evening. Christina helped us out with the merchandise, and she was so sweet and such a joy to talk to! She was incredibly friendly and helpful, and made our visit even more enjoyable. We talked about the different seasons we've visited. She let us know that February is a great time to visit for the Dolly Parton themed cups, which gives us another reason to come back! This is the most welcoming and coolest bar in the world. This massive, high-energy outlaw country space is an amazing, unpretentious venue you must see. The double-story building is a large, open Texas beer hall that blends modern and traditional saloon styles with an intentionally eclectic, whimsical vibe reminiscent of a theme park. For instance, the bathroom doors look like jail cells with hands on the bars, while the pristine stalls feature portraits of Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash. I used the Willie Nelson and was "on the commode again". The centerpiece is a huge, three-sided bar adorned with neon signs, vintage Western memorabilia, industrial brewing equipment, and a massive wall of taps. It serves both classics and ready-to-serve frozen drinks, which you can enjoy in the pet-friendly beer garden backyard party. Order you "two pina coladas and hope they fill 'em to the brim if your world is kind of rocky and you need to learn to swim." (That was Garth Brooks or Maya Angelou). The casual, amphitheater-like patio faces an outdoor stage built into the bed of a vintage truck. The live music (even 12:30pm on a Thursday) is loud enough to be festive but managed so you don't have to scream to be heard. The entire area is covered by a massive glass and steel retractable roof, ensuring comfort in any weather, in case you don't "love a rainy night nor think it's such a beautiful sight, and hate to feel the rain on your face, taste the rain on your lips in the moonlight shadows." (That was Eddie Rabbit or SunTzu). The seating options are excellent and varied. Groups can share high-tops around a gas fire or a lit tree, or even sit in kitschy sawed-off pickup truck beds with bench seating. You can also find lounge chairs near the outdoor fireplace, huge swinging benches, and plenty of folding beach chairs on the astroturf. For dining, you can order affordable bar food from a window and receive a pager, so there is no need to "might as well lay down and nap 'cause you've spent half your life just waiting on a nacho." It has been a minute since I've been to a brewery and it was such fun to attend over spring break with my kids. What a beautiful spot, full of kind people and amazing decorations. The drinks were great, the burger was very good and my kids loved the chicken fingers. There were not a lot of cleaner options which would have been nice to have a few wraps or grilled chicken. The kids loved being able to run around, their outside is so great they should consider putting in a small climbing area for the kids. It'll make the parents stay longer aka drinks + food, while the kids have a great time outside. It could be where we sat but the acoustics were really hard to hear the singer who was a sweet older man. The tables also became VERY hot when the sun hit them for too long, so not sure what the solve is but the kids hated sitting because they kept burning their hands. read more

We were visiting this area from CA and were told to make sure we stopped here. Wanted to experience the Fort Worth Stockyard. This place was just what we were looking for. Our bartender, Ashlynn, was so welcoming and spent a lot of time telling us the history of the bar and brewery. This place is decorated like an old Western Bar. It was so fun. We stayed there for over an hour and then walked over to the area attached to the bar that had a Country Singer playing. We sat and listened to him until he was done with his set. Really great place. The beer? Okay at best. Probably better described as average. Given the location I thought there would be more competition around on that front but there doesn't seem to be. I did not have any food here so I cannot comment on that side of things. The real attraction is just that the place looks amazing and when you are inside the main area it feels almost like you are outside. This spot is always a good time! I've been here on a few occasions, most recently to watch the US vs Turkey World Cup game. They're definitely going all out for FIFA in the upstairs area while retaining some of the stockyard vibe downstairs. This was a great spot to watch the game: it was loud, packed with fans, and the bar was fast! They're also offering souvenir cups for many of the drinks which was an added perk and made the experience fun! I've also ordered food here, most recently I had the Siracha wings with fries. They're definitely decent and perfect bar food while you're watching a game. This is also a great spot to catch up with friends or kick back, especially the outdoor patio in the back along the river. That's what's great about Second Rodeo: the vibe can be whatever you want it to be! The drinks are also pretty good as we've tried several of their brews with no complaints. This place had nice ambience. The place had live music and chill vibes. There was even a table with swing chairs all around it. The musician was good and I appreciated the sound level. It was loud enough to hear and enjoy but wasn't so loud that you are having to scream over the music to be heard. I was in the area taking in the vibes and wanted to grab some dinner. The design and decor were great. The bathrooms also have interesting decor. Even though you were indoors, it almost felt like you were just chilling outside. During the warmer months, there is also an outside patio. They are also pet friendly, so no one is left out of the fun! They have live music, but it didn't happen on schedule. Even the staff weren't sure if the musician would show. Eventually, the musician did show up. What was unusual was that the food ordering systems ask for tip twice, once for the restaurant and another for the musician. Make sure to read carefully. I ended up ordering The Bear (ribeye on a hoagie roll) to eat and it came with chips. After ordering, you get a pager. However, I waited what seemed to be an abnormally long time for my food. Everyone in my party had already finished their food by the time I got mine and I ordered right after them. The food was okay, nothing bad nor great. Dinner at the Stockyards in the great city of Fort Worth. What do you expect? Live music? Beers? A great backyard or patio space? I think Second Rodeo Brewing is the only place that truly delivers on that third one. I'll make this review simple. Let's start with the atmosphere. It deserves the highest praise and is the reason I'm even writing this. The space is absolutely gorgeous, with plenty of outdoor, indoor, and hybrid seating. You can be as present with nature as you want. It was a decently cool evening in Fort Worth, so the hybrid space felt very comfortable. There's tons of seating for groups of all sizes. I have to mention the beer. It is a brewery, all things considered. I got a tall of their Roll Dog Amber, and I thought it was pretty good. I don't think I'd ever seek it out unless I was at SRB, but it did what an amber should do. It had a solid maltiness. Did I mention the atmosphere? Outside, there was a beautiful creek filled with turtles. Isn't that sick? Above the stage, a bunch of acoustic guitars, fiddles, and other string instruments were hanging as decoration. One of the cases belonged to Asleep at the Wheel, who I hope plays ACL one year. The only issue I had with the place was the food. They had two different food stations. One focused on burgers, and the other focused on chicken and wings. I considered the wings, but I ended up going for a Philly cheesesteak. At first glance, it looked fantastic. Melted cheese, beef, sautéed peppers--the whole nine yards. But man, that beef had no flavor. It tasted like my grandma was cooking chili. What a travesty. If they stepped up their food game, this place would be a perfect five out of five. But the tragic beef knocked it down a peg. Also, they use a weird soda brand. Not even Maine Root. Something totally unfamiliar. What's going on here? To close, I want to mention once again how great the atmosphere is, in case I haven't already. With oil cans hanging from the ceiling and décor that welcomes you to Fort Worth, the experience is more than worth it. read more

I really love the frozen mango alcoholic drink that I had. I'm not exactly sure what the full name is--I just remember that it was icy cold and mango flavored. It still had its alcohol flavoring, but it was also very sweet due to the mango. We went here for a private event and it is seriously such a fun place! There are cozy booths, outdoor hangout/play areas, and upstairs with long tables for large groups. Years ago we visited The Truckyard in Dallas. At some point I realized that this place is owned by the same people! No wonder it's a great place- these guys are spot on with knowing what a space should have to suit many types of people at once. Bathrooms were 10/10. TP and soap were well stocked and the lighting was bright (which helps when you're a little tipsy). The ladies room boasted many separate stalls. Like 6-7 stalls! Who likes waiting in lines for the bathroom? Especially when you've had too much drink. Not me! That's who. You could definitely see yourself have a drunk hug with a stranger in that bathroom. But the coolest part of the bathrooms is the awesome murals/posters on the inside and outside of the stall doors. Very entertaining!
