This is only my second time EVER having been to the optometrist and both times have been here. I have a very mild prescription but I know that if my eyesight were to get worse I'd definitely be coming to this office! Dr. Upshaw was very pleasant and spent a great deal of time with me during my visit. He answered all my questions and explained all the procedures thoroughly. I have been coming to Rodeo Family Optometry since I was a kid. Dr. Upshaw and Dr. Kopiko are great! I moved to Antioch and I still come back to Rodeo Family Optometry. I just can't find the exceptional customer service I have received here anywhere else. The office workers are so patient and helpful when I am picking out glasses or ordering contacts. They have such a large selection of glasses, it was great to get help from an expert like Chantelle. Chantelle has helped my husband and me on several occasions and I have even brought my children here. They were 1 and 2 yrs old so I was worried they would freak out, but starting with Chantelle and ending with Dr. Kopiko they made my girls feel safe and comfortable and made what could have been a scary experience a fun one. The remodel of the office looks great too! It makes the place look so much bigger and nicer. read more

Monovision contact lenses let one eye see close and the other far. My vision had changed in the close/reading eye, but within one week and after two visits, the second for fine-tuning, I am again seeing and reading easily. Especially helpful was being given trial lenses to use before filling my prescription. No other optometrist I've gone to has offered them. Drs. I had yelped to find an optometrist nearby my workplace, and Rodeo Family Optometry stood out with all the great reviews. I now know why! WOW! Amazing service with friendly and professional staff! I first called to make sure they accepted my insurance (VSP PPO) and Meachy? was very polite and helpful over the phone. I had explained to her that they were only open during the hours I am at work. However, I had just gotten off work early today in the North Bay and asked if she could fit me in today for an eye exam and contact lens fitting since it would be halfway on my commute back to Sacramento. She was able to squeeze me in last minute, an hour later in the SAME DAY! I truly appreciated it! I was greeted right away as I walked in and was promptly started on my paperwork. I have had pretty sever Dry Eye Syndrome for over a decade now which doesn't seem to be improving even with all the daily vitamins I take (multivitamins, fish oil, flaxseed oil, lutein, and biotin). Dr. Upshaw was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. Most importantly to me, he was genuinely patient with me. He did not rush me out and took his time to answer all of my questions and concerns about my eyes to help me decide which route to take so I didn't even realize the time! He had another appointment waiting and was about to close soon. I felt bad that I took so much of his time but greatly appreciated it! He and his staff were very helpful and honest. Dr. Upshaw and Meachy also helped me fully utilize my insurance coverages so I could have the least amount out of pocket. The front office staff, Meachy and Maria, helped me pick out a frame for my mild prescription glasses with anti-glare for nighttime driving, which deserved an extra star in my book. I highly recommend Rodeo Family Optometry for all your eye care needs!! Pros: Convenient location, right off the freeway of Willow exit. Easy parking. Very clean and modernize. Reasonable prices. Superior service and friendly establishment for the entire family's eye care needs!! Cons: Not much selection on frames and brands so if you're picky, I suggest going to an establishment that specializes in frames. (I'm pretty picky but I was still able to find a frame I liked.) read more

During my first visit was really good that made me wanna come back again. Till, the second time where I had a good visit, but later on I got a call where they forgot to charge me over something ridiculous. I didn't change my insurance or anything, but anyways I ended up paying $30 more compared to my first visit (now the place seems skeptical and suspicious). The procedure was all the same, i've had my glasses/contacts for 12 yrs, so I know the routine when it comes to optometry. read more

Super great professional and family atmosphere eye care service!!! Dr. Kopiko always makes an extra mile to make sure that all the necessary check ups and eye care are performed everytime me, my wife and my daughter go to their clinic to see her for our annual eye check up. We have been seeing Dr. Kopiko since many moons ago even when she was still doing her practice in a Walnut Creek eye clinic. This was the time when my daughter was only on her grade school years and even up to now wherein now she's in her early 20's. When Dr. Kopiko left that Walnut Creek eye clinic, we were saddened that she no longer works there and we vigorously searched for her as to where she moved and finally the search was over! We found her!!! Dr. Kopiko and and her husband- Dr. Upshaw opened their own eye practice. Their eye clinic offers a wide selection of eyeglasses and contact lenses supported with awesome and very patient and friendly staff. Their medical office was just recently remodeled thus it makes you feel so welcome with the bright colors, very clean and the clinic is well-equipped with the latest state of the art medical eye equipment and the always smiling staff ready to provide excellent customer service. Was just there this week. Never any negative feeling when leaving that office. Wish could say the same about all offices that I visit for health care of any kind. Have reviewed couple years ago, but just want to say again, definitely recommend. All aspects of this practice positive, Dr. Upshaw, Leilani, and all staff fantastic. This office is clean and inviting. Parking is not an issue. More importantly the staff is pleasant, kind and will take good care of you. The doctors, I have seen them both now, are very prompt and you will not be kept waiting. They are knowledgable and explain what is going on as they go.
