I tend to have my "regular" and favorite therapists, but if scheduling is a challenge, the front desk is happy to consider my needs and preferences in recommending a new therapist they feel might be a fit - and I've never been disappointed. Thirdly, the space is comfortable, well appointed, clean and feels safe. Getting body services can feel vulnerable - they have created a culture and atmosphere that (as a woman) makes me feel SAFE! Also, when booking, you can mention your preference for a male or female therapist - a nice touch! And lastly, their price points and membership option make regular self-care accessible!! I called ahead and scheduled an appointment for myself and 3 girlfriends. At the time of booking, I made it clear we had not decided on services yet and wanted to choose when we arrived. The night before, they called and left a voicemail confirming us for 90-minute massages, which was never agreed upon. I immediately called back and clarified that we were still coming, but only wanted 60-minute massages and would choose our exact services when we got there. They confirmed that was fine. When we arrived, I signed us in and specifically wrote "combo" because I was interested in their combination reflexology. Before my massage even started, I clearly told my masseuse I wanted the combo reflexology, and she acknowledged it. However, the massage I received was not reflexology at all there was no foot soak and barely any foot work, which is standard at every reflexology place I've been to. On top of that, during the massage they were extremely pushy about extending our sessions another 30 minutes (making it 90 minutes total). I was asked twice, and all 3 of my friends were also pressured to extend. We all declined. At checkout, I noticed I was being charged significantly more than expected. When I asked, they told me they gave me the "combo body massage" instead of the "combo reflexology." That was never what I asked for. Instead of taking accountability or trying to correct their mistake, they did nothing. To make matters worse, their tipping system feels very uncomfortable and aggressive. They present tip options starting around 30-38% and hold the payment screen right in front of you, creating unnecessary pressure. Overall, the entire experience felt disorganized, misleading, and focused on upselling rather than customer service. I take responsibility for not being more confrontational in the moment, but not everyone is comfortable speaking up, and businesses should not rely on that. I left feeling taken advantage of, and unfortunately, they've lost our business. I hope this review helps others avoid the same experience.

My shoulders and neck were feeling like concrete and they hurt. My massage therapist was very friendly, but she was not an expert in muscle anatomy. Therefore, the massage was not as helpful as I needed it to be. I paid $100 for a 90-minute massage plus a 20% tip. I tipped her for her effort and professionalism even though I left disappointed. She checked in throughout the massage for desired pressure, but she was definitely more accustomed to massage for relaxation versus therapeutic relief. A few more notes...There was no table warmer, which was fine by me, but you get the gist this is a no-frills experience. There is no neck cradle on the massage table; you're given a donut pillow. The Citadel used to be the home of Michael's at the Citadel as well as a charming boutique inn that now sits empty. Ah well. Times change. But back to Esthetique. Run by the husband and wife team of Anna (pronounced Anya), an aesthetician, and Peter, a massage therapist, the place has a subtle Tuscan decor and the feel of a neighborhood salon frequented by the retired, affluent residents of north Scottsdale. I was referred to Esthetique by a friend and over the last couple years, it has become my go-to place for deep cleansing European facials. I go to Anna when she's available but on occasion have also gone to Gail. Both are excellent and follow the same protocol of purging your skin of impurities on a maniacal level. The day spa side of the salon has three facial rooms and one laser hair removal room. The treatment rooms are functional, clean, nothing fancy. But when the lights go down, I could care less what the joint looks like because that's when Anna and Gail do their magic. Here's what I like about their facials: Every single little tiny pore on your face is cleaned to the nth degree. In fact, the extractions can be somewhat painful depending on your skin condition (I'll be honest, I've teared up on occasion). Once the extractions stage of the facial is done though, you'll get a relaxing shoulder massage and be lulled into a very relaxed state during the mask portion. Facials always seem to run longer than an hour too. With all the day spas and skincare joints in the Valley, it might seem like quite a trek to the far reaches of Scottsdale but if you're dealing with acne flair-ups or just want to experience a true European facial, I'd highly recommend Esthetique. I'd also recommend Amy for nails. Besides being a meticulous nail tech, she's also a massage therapist and services up a killer reclined masssage/pedicure experience.
