    Burrito Rancheros

In a town full of the run of the mill Mexican restaurants, Rodeo is on the side of better than most. I love the decor! At one time, it was a Chinese restaurant but it makes an excellent Mexican restaurant. I will also like to note that Rodeo smells extremely pleasant. It does not smell like a run of the mill Mexican restaurant. The salsa was satisfying but nothing to really separate itself from other Mexican restaurants. For an appetizer, I ordered the fiesta dip. It was a mix of beans, beef, sour cream, guacamole, cheese, and black olives. I was imagining it to be like a layer dip. It wasn't layered but sort of just mixed together. It was a satisfactory. I chose the burrito rancheros, which are 2 burritos covered in ranchero sauce and salsa verde. One came with beef and the other came with chicken. The menu said there was no queso on it but some did come on mine. I had ordered queso on the side so I could smother my burrito. The queso was not your run of the mill but had some diced peppers mixed in. The burritos did come with the sour cream, lettuce, and pico de gallo on the side. I did enjoy my burritos and queso. Sweet tea was refreshingly extra sweet! That might be the best part of every run of the mill Mexican restaurant. Every single one of them has excellent sweet tea. Overall, Rodeo was a satisfying meal. Nothing was bad but on the other hand, nothing was exceptional. I would eat Rodeo again though.

Ordered to-go $60 worth of food. Large queso & salsa was ordered but NO chips given... ordered carnita steak which tasted like fish! Could not eat it... avoid this location it is subpar to the other Rodeos.

If you come through Dothan and you eat anywhere else, you have made a huge mistake! This is The Best food I have ever eaten. Anywhere, hands down. For those that follow, do yourself a favor and try this place. Order a #30 Parrillada Mexicana fajita. One is enough for two people. I almost hurt myself because I could not stop!

Average cheap Mexican food. Good for a fast lunch. But if I'm looking for really good dinner, I go to Hacienda.

Our family loves eating at Rodeo. The food is great. Service is fast and the kids love the atmosphere. Highly recommend all locations.

It was loaded with little bites of sausages, chicken, shrimp, and scallops. All those proteins were nestled with just the right amount of spices in a rich broth with onions and tomatoes. A nice helping of rice topped off the dish nicely. We shared the grilled catfish fillets. You have an option of one, two, or three fillets. We opted for three for only $21. The filets were good size and nicely grilled with a bit of blackening seasoning. The meal came with a single trip to the salad bar and a side. The salad bar has several options of pasta salads, chopped lettuce with toppings, and a sweet slaw. We chose the blackened new potatoes as our other side. We thought that they were really good. Bread options included: hush puppies, cheese, bread, or yeast rolls. The hush puppies were a little overdone. So we were able to get an order of the cheese bread. Which is large yeast rolls with cheddar cheese, baked in the top. They were really good. The servers are friendly and never seemed to stop moving. The seating is basic older restaurant booths and tables which are comfortable. They offer interesting sayings at each table such as... "I'm not saying it's your fault. I said I'm blaming you." They have a full bar and lounge. Side note-the parking lot is huge and has plenty of room for vehicles towing trailers.

Wait staff very friendly and attentive - would like to see salad bar items expanded. Food…read moreexcellent and reasonably priced.

We ordered the guacamole dip thinking it was the one on the menu, for $4.99, but it ended up being the $8.99 bowl that we could not find on the extensive menu. I had Ñoquis Gratinados with steak. it was good, the steak was okay, but would have preferred all the cuts of meat be the same size, and bite sized. Spouse had the Churrasco a lo Pobre, a taco, and a tamale. The taco was good. The tamale, although large in size did not have much pork in it. The meat on the churrasco a lo pobre plate was really tough, unless you really like to chew, and chew, and chew, think twice about ordering the churrasco a lo pobre plate. If you do order it, bring your dental floss. Although we spoke to the waiter about the tough meat, and the waiter admitted he tried cutting the meat and it was tough. After that, there was no attempt to replace the meat with a more tender piece nor was my spouse asked if he wanted to try a different dish. When paying for the meal, there was no discount offered for the tough meat on the plate. The eggs on the plate were also kind of over cooked and brown and crispy around the edges. Customer service is lacking. Unfortunately for the restaurant, we will not be patrons.

September 20, 2020…read more Never thought of traveling but my heart convinced me otherwise. Explored around Burlington coat factory to get some things. We got hungry and decided to go to the food court. Not much was open but I happened to noticed this little joint and thought "hey.. let's try this out!" They will say it's gonna take 15-20 minutes but let me assure you.. it will take at LEAST a good FULL HOUR before your order gets out. Do not believe them if they say it's gonna take 15 minutes unless you multiply it by four. So when you decide to come here. Make sure you have your time planned out! Here is what I recommend.. Do not come here hungry or you will be hANGRY! [Its okay to have a snack ready to much on.] 1. Take your order. 2. Then go have fun window shopping around the mall and set an alarm an hour from the time you have ordered. 3. Once your alarm has gone off or you have noticed that an hour has passed. Patiently walk your hungry self over to see if your order is ready. Ask them what is available because most of their dishes are not there anymore. It's a bit pricey because.. you know... it's seafood! The wait might just be worth it? Ehh.. yeah, just might be haha. We received the order about an hour and fifteen minutes after paying. There was so much food! We thought we wouldn't be able to finish it all but we killed it! They put the perfect amount of flavor into their dishes! I was amazing how good it was! No condiments necessary. Tastes better than most "fancy" restaurants I've gone to. This spot has given me a whole new standard of how seafood is suppose to taste like. Oh but make sure to bring your own wet naps because your hands just might get messy! Service! The workers are nice and it seems like they are all friends or family within but I just wish they didn't lie about how long it would take for the food to come out. Also make it clear when asked what they have. Make it simple and say YES or NO. Do not confuse me with explanations please! "Do you have tartar sauce?" "Yes or sorry we do not have tarter sauce." Do not say " Oh we have hot sauce and ketchup if you like and we will be making tartar sauce soon" The food is delicious! It amazed me! Just be honest about the time and what you actually have. Sorry for the rant but I have to make this clear so it does not happen to any of your other hungry customers. Looking forward to coming back here to enjoy the food next time I visit this lovely state!
