We arrive around 9:30 there was a line so we knew the ice cream was gonna be good Some of the signage is a little outdated and hard to read But they do have a QR code so we made that work We sampled a few of the ice cream with blueberry cheesecake, bean in our absolute favorite , it's considered one of their hard ice creams, so scooped, ice cream versus soft serve out of the machine It had a homemade cheesecake vanilla flavor with blueberry jam, or jelly mixed into it so delicious. It tasted like fresh blueberries absolutely loved it. We both got two waffle cones. My Husband had two scoops, one being the blueberry cheesecake and the other one being the cappuccino crunch. The cappuccino crunch also had bold flavors with a really great crunch added in. We don't live in the area, but we had dinner out there in Deland and saw this place driving by so we stopped in to give it a try so happy that we did because this could definitely easily become our new favorite ice cream place because the flavoring was so delicious They are busy they have a drive-through and they have a walk-in when we got there. There's a line of like six people. It didn't take long and when we were leaving, there is another line of roughly 10 people. The lady who took our order was super friendly, told us that we can try whatever flavors we wished because they do have some rotating flavors 10 out of 10 would definitely try again. Over priced and tasted like a healthy pb fit smoothie from smoothie king. A medium was $9, the icecream wasn't sweet, the banana and peanut butter didn't taste good at all, the flavor was not it for icecream. Wish it was better, wouldn't recommend getting this. read more

I can only give you four stars because the guy who waited on us gave us small portions and I'm guessing it's because we didn't give a tip. I love, love, love their ice cream. It is rich, creamy and yummy. I don't want to tell you my favorite because I am afraid they will run out. I dtive out of my way, past many "ice crean, frozen yogurt & frozen custard" establishments to get to the Rodeo Whip. Don't go if you are in a hurry! So many know about this place so ypu may have a 5-30 minute wait - and that is just the drive through. I tried ordering a regular cone and was amazed how large it was. I told my USMC friend do not order the large. He didn't listen. I don't think he ate it all. I order the "child's size" and that has 2 scoops of deliciousness. Small, local and long standing ice cream joint in Deland. Not a large place or overly fancy, just simple and perfect. I've been going to this place since I was a kid and it still hits the spot! Large variety of flavors and choices to mix and match for the perfect cone or sundae!! My personal fav as a kid and even until now is the Garbage Pail, vanilla mixed with snickers, peanut butter cups and m&ms. I realized I was in the area for work and decided to hit up the drive-thru for a few take home pints. The Garbage Pail for me (still states like heaven) and Oreo for my boyfriend. The ice cream was good. The rest of the experience, not so much. Me and my three daughters came here on a family outing on 5/24/26. 2 of my daughters are in the Navy, and my youngest has extra needs and was born with a condition that drastically limits her sugar intake. So, this was a very special occasion for us. I can count on one hand the amount of times we have all been out for ice cream together in the past 10 years. But I will never ever step foot back in this establishment. We were completely ignored until we finally got to the counter, which was after we were blatantly skipped in the line by two young adults who actually complimented one of my daughters tattoos when they walked into the restaurant and got in line behind us. But when the woman in front of us was called to the counter, we waited patiently to be called next. Instead, the two girls behind us skipped the line and jumped in front of us. The girl at the counter was either clueless to what was happening or just didn't care. The only other person who noticed and was also a considerate human, was a man, with a young son, who was actually behind the girls that skipped the line, and saw what they did. But it wasn't until the girl behind the counter completely ignored my daughter who was ordering after me and called the skipper back to finish adding stuff to her order. At that point we were done and so frustrated and disgusted with the experience that we just left and couldn't even enjoy the ice cream at that point. Complete waste of time and money and heartbroken that I picked this place for this occasion. We enjoyed our time together as always, but we were all so disappointed that our once in a decade ice cream outing, turned sour. Well this place is a just a little scoop of heaven. If you've never been, you don't know what you're missing. This time of year the make their pumpkin ice cream.... Not overly pumpkin flavor and nice hints of ginger and cinnamon. My fav for this time of year. My all time fav... German Chocolate Cake. Let me tell you. Bits of moist chocolate cake, walnuts and coconut. Even better is one scoop of the German chocolate cake and one scoop of pumpkin. Amazing together!!! Ummm..., maybe I shouldn't have told you that. When you see a line wrapped around the drive through, you know that something is special is present. My wife and I were craving some ice cream, and I've had Rodeo Whip recommended to me from the locals, so I jumped in line before grew any larger. I will start off by saying you will wait for quite a while! There were some patrons that parked their car, walked inside, and left before I could even move up one spot. You'll make your order at the window, after you pass their massive menu,, then wait and get your order after a while, so the positive is you'll get some Freshly scooped ice cream, milkshake, sundae, etc. I ordered an Oreo milkshake and my wife ordered the chocolate peanut butter ice cream on a waffle cone. My wife's chocolate ice cream had peanut butter pieces within her two scoops, and my milkshake had actual crushed Oreo cookies, and I was able to taste the cream from the cookies themselves. What's different with rodeo whip, is that you can have your ice cream or milkshakes made into a soft or hard preparation. If you're in the neighborhood, Rodeo Whip is worth a visit, just get there at a good time to avoid a long wait. read more

The kids loved their glaciers and my peanut butter fudge crunch was fantastic, and huge!! I got a small and it was 2 scoops!! I thought the prices were reasonable, 3 treats for less than $15. Been going to rodeo whip for years. Matter of fact went the other day with the family got 1 small soft serve in a cone and 2 hand dipped small cups. They have a really good product but they also have a ton of rules. The ice cream only has kiddie, small and large seems like there should be a medium size however they do give big portion sizes i must say are good portion sizes almost to generous and they are not consistent. The shakes are priced to the moon and made with ice cream and heavy whipping cream super rich and delicious but super bad for you. And the price is laced with gold and diamonds 14.00 for a shake is crazy. The product is really good but i wonder about the pricing sometimes my order was 18.00 give or take a few cents. I say it is really good homemade ice cream prices a bit much. Ambiance is a little hole in the wall a coat of paint every now and then might be a good thing. Staff is okay they seem to be competent and some what friendly. A smile goes a long way especially in an ice cream store its supposed to be fun overall i give them a generous 4.5 as there is nothing like it for miles. Only go to the one in Deland. Compared to Mr C in the Keys who makes everything in house also the prices are ridiculous at rodeo whip. Same three ice creams in islamorada at Mr Cs was only $9.00. I don't know maybe it's just common sense, but maybe you guys should update your hours on Google that people don't show up at 11 for an order and get swarmed by cops on every direction asking why am I there at 11:10, I waited the extra minutes because I thought maybe they were just behind on stuff or who ever was opening was late .
