Came here after car broke down and let's just say... it did not help. The woman at the front desk was incredibly rude, hounding us and talking a million miles per hour. We get up to what was supposed to be our spacious king room, and it's the tiniest hotel room I've ever been in with a double bed... not to mention the hair left in the bathroom. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is its excellent location, but there are many affordable hotels within walking distance of downtown. read more

If there could be a no star option, I'll click no star. I brought my service animals and they asked me for details about what type of service animal they are. I already felt offended and they said they need to charge $120 for my service animals because they don't think the type qualifies as a service animal. It's already against regulations to ask for details and even worse to make their own opinions about what qualifies. They said I can either pay the $120 or I can choose another hotel to stay. They will fully refund for me. Then I chose to leave this super impolite staff and place. But they still charged my $50. They said I misunderstood them. There is no complimentary breakfast, but Flag has a bevvy of great restaurants to fit the bill. I booked a Saturday night stay on HotelTonight for only $75! Yes, there is a utility surcharge fee 7.77 per night regardless of where you book, but after taxes and fees, it was still less than $100! This is a solid choice if you don't plan on spending your time at the inn. My bed was comfortable, the room was clean (even though it had the scent of yesteryear), the employees I interacted with were all helpful, the parking was ample, and yes... you can walk across the parking lot to Porky's to grab a pitcher. There's also a gas station mini mart that's close. And yes, there are a few not so glamorous aspects of staying here. The walls are thin, and you'll hear every loudmouth in the hallway, as well as every footstep of the behemoths staying above you. The shower pressure could be considered in the "spittle" family. The jacuzzi is located inside a small building to the back of the pool, and elicits smells of those childhood days spent at the YMCA. The pool is pretty nice if you find yourself there alone... but don't get too comfy, because a large troupe of teenagers with awkward social skills is heading your way. And so is that creepy old man who stares at you with a towel draped over his head, as if that really conceals his disturbingly unending gaze. Well we got in kind of late and I was excited that the website says it has free complimentary breakfast so we didn't have to make an extra stop at the store for breakfast items. When we got into the room there was only a menu for the connected restaurant and prices. So we asked the front desk and they said they do not have a complimentary breakfast and the web is wrong and they are trying to change the incorrect information -_- obnoxious... Also there was a small piece of fried chicken or friend something on the floor in the room we were in... Kind of gross. The hotel has had a few renovations since the last time anyone had posted some pictures... So I'm posting these pictures in hopes that people will understand that the hotel is doing really well. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable and organized with good furniture. The stairs obviously have been renovated and same with the carpet. I stayed four days and three nights during the week of Christmas and so it snowed and was just a very enjoyable time. The rooms are clean and the hotel is quiet. There is a hot tub for guests to enjoy. There is no breakfast available but you do get free coffee and juice 24/7. They also give you 20% off coupons to the diner literally less than 50 feet away from the hotel. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. read more

It wasn't the Taj Mahal, but it was pretty good. The room was updated, spacious, clean, and it was a good price. My only real complaint was the lack of elevator. I had a bad knee but I managed. I was a bit surprised at the negative reviews. Check-in was quick and parking was ample. Room 118 was clean and spacious with a small patio area, view of the pool (closed for winter), and a clean room. Did I mention we paid $28 for a room with a king size bed? Dirty and nasty. Food crumbs all over the tables and desk and fridge. Spots of "something" all over the comforters. Beds were so funky we went to walmart to buy blankets to lay down so we didnt have to touch the bed. Several broken steps on the staircase. Something funky growing on the ceiling. Staff was nice but everything else was horrible. Avoid this place at all costs. If we had been able to afford paying for another hotel, we would have left immediately. read more

First impression was very poor and then it went downhill. First of all the front desk is a joke. The girl running it has no idea what she is doing. I reserved a room online for check in on 05/06/16 and check out on 05/08/16. We go to our room at the back of the motel and the security door lock is busted out and anyone can walk into the hotel. The wind is whistling through the gap in the door. Great place if you don't care who is outside your room in the middle of the night. So we get up the next morning and drive to Williams, AZ to take the Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. (Fantastic trip BTW and the people working the train were terrific!) We spend all day out tromping up and down the Grand Canyon and by the time we get back to the hotel we are dead tired. Go through the broken door, climb up the stairs (yes, there is no elevator), get to our room and neither of our card keys works. So we are locked out. We have to go back down stairs and walk the length of the motel to the front. And this is a deep motel. We wait in line behind some dude who is telling the front desk girl about how many times he's gotten drunk in the bar at the motel. Looks like he might have just got out of jail. When he's done I tell the girl that our room keys don't work. She doesn't say Sorry or anything. Just asks us our room number, re scans the cards and lets us go. We could be anyone who picked up a room card discarded in the parking lot and told her a room #. She didn't ask our name or for any ID. SO, if you don't mind staying in a place where the employees couldn't care less about your security, then this is definitely the place for you! read more

Is this really a five star hotel? Of coarse not. Does it get five stars for hitting the mark within their niche. Of coarse it does. Huge rooms, refer, coffee maker, 2 chairs, patio with table and decent size tv. Also very clean. Recently remodeled sports bar next door is also a plus. Wings were great. Definitely their own sauce and well cooked. The young barmaid was also very servile and sweet. Same goes with the young lady that checked us in at the front desk at approx 6pm 11/15. She deserves props, very professional and also helpful with local suggestions. For the money, you can't go wrong! read more

I've stayed here twice now, each time only for one night, while in town to do the North Pole Experience. My rating is based on the price range for this hotel. There are certainly nicer places to stay, but for the low price, I don't think I could find anything better. The staff was friendly and the room was clean. Run from this place! Our experience was horrible. First they charged my card 3 times for 1 night. It was an argument to get them to look at the reservation details. Second our room was disgusting, the bed had food crumbs and stains when we pulled the sheets back. The manager was very rude when we asked if housekeeping could change our bed she sheets. Manager said they didn't have anybody for housekeeping at the time. Third our bed was a full size not a queen like i booked, again manager was very rude and replied "that is our queen bed". Fourth no t.v.!! And to top it off our toilet didnt flush and ran all night keeping us awake. When we asked for a refund the manager told us no refunds and to leave the office. We tried to find another hotel in town but everything was booked. Never again will we book with Rodeway Inns. read more

This has to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. First things first..... This is budget accommodations, I was NOT expecting 1st class or anything. But the rooms are a little shabby, they do not provide you with actual "rodeway inn" bath amenities, or even the tiny bottles of shampoo... They give you a little pouch.... It just screams trashy!! Anyway, on to the reasons for only one star..... We booked a 2 night stay, the first night was fine, but after 2 days of running around we got back and were just ready to relax and turn in early. Well, the several rooms of high school kids they put on either side of us and across the hall had other ideas. We had to be up early to leave, and were already tired, so we decided to get to sleep early, about 10. But these kids were so loud! Slamming doors, going from room to room, yelling in the hallways, etc, that it made sleep impossible, I picked up the phone to call the front desk, and OMG, the phone does not even work!!! So I call on my cell phone, I explain why I'm calling and the Front desk clerk immediately gets an attitude. She says, " they have rooms booked by 15 High School students", and that was it. I again told her I needed to get to sleep, and these kids were just being too loud. I also brought up the phone again... I said I felt like I was staying in a ghetto motel. This person then had the nerve to tell me "this is flagstaff, and 11:30 is considered a little early to go to bed" REALLY!!??!! did she just tell me it was MY fault these teenagers they rented rooms to we're making too much noise?? She was extremely rude, and basically was yelling at me... I finally was so pissed off I said, I'm a paying guest, and will NOT be treated this way.... I asked for her name and she says.... " my name is Jenny, I live here in Flagstaff, and I've been in hospitality for 30 years" Well Jenny from Flagstaff, Who's been in hospitality for 30 years, you are one of the rudest people I have ever dealt with, you NEED to get OUT if the hospitality industry because you SUCK at it!, and you are the reason if I could give this Rodeway Inn NEGATIVE stars I would!!!! read more

After a long drive from Amarillo Texas then completing the whole stretch of New Mexico, our GPS guided us to this Rodeway Inn along interstate 40 in Flagstaff, Arizona. This was the last stop of our route 66 trip before heading up north to Grand Canyon, well pretty much 1 hour and a half south of Grand Canyon. Very tired and hungry, we abosulety need this place. The guy in the lobby was not so friendly and did not honor the coupon I presented, supposed to be $ 59 but I paid $ 79, well I didn't care at that time, all we need is to eat and sleep. Bringing up our luggages to the 2nd floor hastened our already diminshing energy. We entered our room and right away all those hassles vanished. A good size room for 2 queen beds. Very clean and fresh. A huge sliding door going to the balcony caught my attention to check out the outside view. Wow, it's a right size pool in the middle of a South-Western feel landscape. FREE WI-FI, Free Continental Breakfast and a pool, all of these by Route 66 and Grand Canyon Area, it's up for you to decide. I'll come back again. read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars! We actually had our door bust open by a maid that looked like she was a drug addict. We arrived at this place late at night, tired from moving from California to New Mexico. We were traveling with two seriously stressed out kitty cats, which are basically my children. The front desk seemed nice and helpful, so we were off to a great start. My husband was resistant though, feeling that the place was run down and sketchy. We started to drive around and look for a place to park our Jeep with trailer. We noticed that there were a ton of men loitering around the side of the hotel. This wasn't so comfortable because we were traveling with everything we owned. My husband was careful about where to park to avoid being seen by the 15 plus guys. We went into the room and were seriously disappointed. The carpets were dirty, the walls needed to be repainted and the place was just gross. Anyway, we got the cats settled, so we decided to stick it out. We were enjoying a dinner of Chinese food when we heard a knock at the door and seconds later, the door burst open. We both jumped up in panic, to find a woman, supposedly the "house keeper", looking equally surprised. Apparently, she had been sent to clean our room and she was so ambitious she actually broke the inside latch on the door. She was wearing bagging jeans and a t-shirt, had messy, oily hair, and looked like she might actually be on drugs. But seriously, this was the maid. Anyway, we were so alarmed at this broken door intrusion, we decided to pack up, stress out cats out again, and relocate to the Drury Inn down the road. YUCK! read more

Sure, the Choice Hotels Group had my balls in a vice when I showed up on Memorial Day expecting to find a reasonably-priced room for the night (I was new to the city, give me a break), and the guy working the front counter was not without pity when he broke the news that my room was going to cost slightly north of $250 for the night; while I wouldn't have minded so much had the room been at least kinda nice, no one goes to a Rodeway Inn for the amenities. As it was, I was placed in an ugly yellowish room too large for the furniture and with a little too much earshot into what my neighbors were doing, not to mention the stupid kids running up and down the hall. The front desk clerk said he couldn't do anything and then decided to insult my intelligence by saying that he's a non-smoker and he can't tell the room has been smoked in after it has been cleaned. Yeah, NOT! Saw the room, smelled smoke as soon as I opened the door, never even walked in. Then, as I get back to the front desk, we have a cancellation of a non-smoking room. Kudos to the front desk clerk for making the save...and realizing I was going to walk if he tried putting me in a smoking room. The room itself? Was ok. Wireless internet was pathetic, used my own. Noise was very low, even though the front parking area was right outside my window. Nice. The price? Should have been lower. Traveling on a road trip this was the WORST hotel of a ten hotel trip. Thermostat was putting out hot air all night even though we set to cool. When room was already hot. Screen was warped so opening window was not a good option to offset crazy heat. AC wouldn't work. Young hooligans smoking outside and talking trash until very late. And the lady at the front desk told me that their breakfast selection was intentionality skimpy so as to not take business away from their cousins restaurant bar grill next door. To be fair there was a hotel we went to earlier and looking at the room noticed bugs in the tub. Which made us flee that hotel, looking back I'm not sure we made the best choice. Stayed here in 2012, and was almost unbearable. Room was small and appeared as if it was left in terrible condition by the previous guests and not cleaned ( or cleaned poorly ). Got the job done as far as keeping a roof over my head for the night, but not good for much else. Complimentary breakfast was horrible, and the entire experience staying at this place made me feel gross afterwards. Avoid like the plague! read more

I am basing my rating on what you get for the money. The place is dated, sure. The breakfast selection is sparse. But for $40 per night on a Saturday night with great snow on the slopes this place is a super buy! So many people pick value priced rooms and expect Hilton suite experiences. The front desk was welcoming. The room is large w fridge and microwave. The 2nd floor balcony view of the mountains was nice (ignore the restaurant roof in the foreground). The best feature for my family members with allergies was the laminate flooring instead of carpet in the rooms- we would pick this any day! The bed was a bit too firm for me but acceptable. I have stayed in rooms at more than twice the price and been disappointed. This is the first time I have been so pleasantly surprise at the value. We were able to rent a separate adjoining room for the kids and still saved on the budget- and my sanity. It was clean, comfortable and roomy. Will be back again! read more

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel after a long day of traveling with child. The sliding glass door to the pool was a refreshing treat. It is close to the freeway, yet well lit and safe. Yelp really does need a 0 star option. I didn't expect much out of this but I did expect things to work. First off, we chose this over other options because it had a hot tub and was inexpensive. It also advertised a heated pool. The heated pool is open seasonally, ok. The hot tub was advertised open year round. It wasn't open either. The bathtub was broken, the heat didn't work and it wasn't exactly warm outside. I've never considered asking for a refund for a cheap hotel until now. The entire building smelled of cigarette smoke no matter if it was non smoking or not. The hallways were dirty and rundown. The walkways outside were crumbling and chunks of cement were laying everywhere. Horrible, horrible place. Unless you're going to run your car off the road due to sheer exhaustion and you only have $40 to your name, go anywhere else but here. read more

As soon as you walk in it smells like an overflowing Porta potty...The sinks in the room had dried food, the window had such a huge gap that the wind was blowing the curtains all night long and we did not dare take a shower in the filthy tub/shower the next morning. The Comforter and seat on the edge of the bed had blood on them. After having no choice but to stay here because of full booking everywhere else we settled. This places Priceline account says that they are Pet Friendly, but when I stayed there and they noticed I had a pet, they said I will be charged an non-refunable fee of $20 per pet. They had signs all in their office saying, "No Pets Allowed!" But they mislead us thinking they accepted pets, because that is what all of their social media account states. They said there is nothing they can do, and to call Priceline (even though it's THEIR ACCOUNT that they created). read more

If I could give zero stars to this hotel, I would. Walking into the hotel lobby, I could tell our stay was doomed. It smelled terrible and old, looked outdated. We booked a two queen bed room for one night and when we arrived we got a one bed room. They had no two beds available and they were incredibly rude about it. The man working was in general just very rude. It sounded like another family was dealing with the same situation we were. Since it was so late and I had already overpaid for the room, we decided to stay he night. When we went into the hallway to get to our room, there was a nasty, overpowering smell throughout the entire hallway. We finally got to our room and it looked like they had attempted to make it look nicer. You can tell that the furniture that they put in that room is just reused furniture. It's all scratched and banged up, which really doesn't matter in regards to comfort, but it just looked cheap and awkwardly thrown together. They made sure to leave their old, outdated red chairs and ottoman though. It looked incredibly out of place. I can't imagine someone having a good experience here. I'm not sure if the other reviews are fake or if this place is just terrible today. But my entire family considered just using the shower and going to sleep in the car. This was probably the worst mistake of our entire vacation. Be warned, this place is not worth it. read more

Nice quiet place to stay. There is a great breakfast place and. Nice little bar next door. Easy access to everything. The pool is nice and it's heated. It's an older hotel building but everything is clean and it works. Continental breakfast is good.
