Great customer service Robert M... snowing like rip, easy check in, hot coffee & a great room

Nice stay - Bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Shower had a nice strong stream. Even the refrigerator worked :-) so the only negative i experienced from this stay was that a $5.00 parking fee was added to my bill. I have a normal sedan, so i am guessing all guests pay this fee.

Again, we chose to stay at a Holiday Inn Express and are super happy with our choice! We all slept very well. The beds were comfy. We were able to do some laundry again. The room was nice and clean. The AC worked well to keep us cool from the desert heat! The view was nice. Ahh... blue skies and the mountains! My little one loved watching the trains go by! Although the highway was close by and in view, the road noise was minimal. IMO, it provided adequate white noise to help us sleep. Plus, my little guy enjoyed seeing and calling out the different vehicles driving by. This room was smaller than our last room, but was still comfortable and we had an adjoining room with my dad who is traveling with us. That was super fun and safe for my toddler to run around freely and go between rooms with ease! The bathroom was sufficient and clean. The tub/shower worked great for getting hot water and controlling the flow of water. This is the first hotel that still has this type of faucet. I prefer them because the super hard flow of water rushing out is intimidating to my little guy. He had fun in this tub and played as he usually does during his bathtime instead of trying to climb out. Stocked with enough towels for our family of 3 and a door that didn't close on its own saved my little one's fingers from getting caught. His fingers got smashed by the bathroom door at our last hotel room. We learned from that to just throw a towel over the door. Poor guy. The hotel is operating under Covid-19 restrictions, so no free breakfast buffet. So sad. I noticed another reviewer had a to-go breakfast and gave only a 1 star review for that. Ugh. Hello! We are still working through a world pandemic. I think I can be a little forgiving for no buffet. It was nice to get anything at all in a brown bag that I could grab on the way out. Water (1 bottle), banana, yogurt, granola bar, and free coffee (in room) ... we didn't leave hungry. Under normal circumstances, I think I would still give them a great rating. My family and I agree that we would stay here again, if in the area. We just might since we plan to travel again later than sooner! I recommend if you're looking for a good night's rest at $100 or less per night! Check online for discounted room rates!

The staff is friendly, and the check-in is also smooth. So the lower rating is not because of the staff. It's more of the management of the hotel as there are several things that need to be fixed, updated, or just refurbished. The A/C unit is busted open (but still manages to work), the shower is cracked, the light switch is jammed so it's hard to turn on/off, and there is a stain on the light shade. I'm not expecting a 5-star resort, but at least fix these visible things so the room feels clean and maintained. The TV is an older model. There is a microwave and refrigerator in the room, which is nice. There is ample storage space too, which is also a plus. I feel bad for the staff since they are genuinely really friendly, but the management is neglecting to spend the money to fix things in the rooms. You can see what I'm talking about in the pictures.

    Watered down apple juice
    Jerry O.

The mattresses in our room was exhausted and unsupportive. Had hip pain as a result all through the night. Tried breakfast - that was also a mistake. The Turkey sausage was flavorless, the apple juice was watered down. For the price you pay (we paid $250/nt) It is Not Worth it. I've been a rewards Member of HIE for 15 years. Lately the quality has gone down at a variety (not all) locations. I would think this is hurting their business. I hope they improve their quality. I plan to change brands...

It's a downright rip off. $40 EXTRA for an $80 room, that's a 50% premium just because I have a dog. I asked what the outrageous fee was for and they could not give me an answer other than 'extra cleaning' which we all know is total BS. Housekeeping does absolutely nothing different because there was a pet in the room. Policies like this are just a blatant rip off. We come back hours later around 10:00PM and my room keycard wasn't working so I went to the front lobby to get a new one. The shorter India looking guy who was apparently the hotel manager said "Where and how did you get this card"? I said my roomate gave it to me so I could get into the room. He proceeded to say "Look, I know you guys have been clubbing, I am going to call the Police if you don't leave". After I heard that, I walked away and knocked on my roomates room door myself so he could let me in himself. My roomate let me in and called the front desk to give me my key back. Then the manager came and gave me my key back while I was in the room. This was hands down, the most unaccommodating, unpleasant and downright hotel experience ever. If my roomate had fallen asleep and was unable to answer the door, the manager would've called the cops on me and got me arrested. Do not stay at this establishment, the hotel across the street will always look out for your safety and wellbeing when you are down at the bar having a few drinks with your friends and family.

He seems mentally unbalanced and is not a good face for the business. I made a reservation online and arrived with a small camper in tow. Blue immediately assured me that it wouldn't be possible for me to park anywhere on the premises, though I'd already paid to stay the night. When I asked "surely you aren't that busy, the parking lot has many open spaces", he raised his voice to yell at me that as a policy they do not accept oversized vehicles and I needed to find somewhere else to stay. I am a young woman traveling alone and grown men yelling at me is scary, so I left the premises to find another hotel to stay at. I called the agency I booked the hotel through to cancel the reservation. Blue reassured them on the phone that he can't do a refund because one guest can only take up 2 parking spaces. My car and camper can detach and take up exactly 2 spaces. This detail would have been helpful to hear initially instead of being yelled at and shooed away so I could resolve the situation. Because I booked another hotel room at Blue's insistence, and then he refused me a refund. I returned to the hotel to clarify with Blue that I would have liked to know the bit about being able to take up 2 parking spots because I could have fixed the problem and stayed there instead of paying for 2 hotels, but he started raising his voice at me, telling me the blatant lie that he "was trying to tell me that, but I wouldn't listen", and continued to scream at me to get off his property. As long as this man is working here, I'd recommend staying far away from this business. I've added some photos of the space in the parking lot for reference.

This was two items they charged an extra $50 for. The "fan" was supposed to cool the room after 30 minutes but blew hot air out no matter what setting. This demonstrated lack of any oversight or care that a room in such deplorable conditions was even offered to a paying guest. I demanded my money back or that they make it right. We paid for a 6 night stay. The next room they moved us to was much better. The microwave was clean and the fridge worked. Turned on the "fan" and the room cooled to near freezing. We stayed our 6 nights. I believe this place has a long term stay area were there are sketchy people that I see holding signs on street corners. And I firmly believe they have substandard conditions there because they claimed their air conditioning was broken. Maybe in that one building but no fan will ever cool a room to near freezing. That's air conditioning. I believe they have a guest section where everything works and then a long term stay where they could care less that anything works. The location is convenient to a highway, Walmart, fast food and restaurants. Parking is plentiful. After a certain time you must speak to a kiosk with someone on video as the front desk is installed.

So when we had to travel to Flagstaff again for some appointments at the end of Feb this year, we figured things would be same. We had booked through Priceline a queen room in a smoking room as we vape. When we checked in, the woman was very nice and check in was fine. Our room however was not good. It was 2 double beds. One of the lights didn't work. The lights that did work had two different light shades. There was something very sticky dropped on the floor that hot water couldn't even get off the floor. One of the lamp shades was broken. The TV got maybe 10 tv channels. There was a dirty crusty washcloth hanging on the shower curtain bar. The beds were pretty hard. The biggest downfall of the room was how hot the room was. When we checked in, it was really warm, so we pushed the ancient (falling off the wall) thermostat all the way to cool and turned on the fan. Instead of cooling the room, it got to over 90 degrees. We woke up at 4 am dying in the heat. We had to open the door and let the cold air in to cool off the room. We were not able to sleep after. At checkout, you don't actually check out with a real person, it's a kiosk with someone across the world. It is so impersonation. I believe since Motel 6 has been acquired by Oyo, they have gone downhill. Also, look into the air vent. Ours shows the filter had not been changed since November 2024.

Little America Hotel - Double room

    Little America Hotel

    (664 reviews)

    $$

My overall rating for Little America Hotel Flagstaff is 3 stars…read more I want to start by saying that overall, many of the staff were kind, and I've stayed at this property multiple times before with good experiences. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the beds and pillows are amazing, and the views of the Coconino Forest are beautiful. I also really enjoy the heated pool, the walking trails, and how convenient the location is to nearby stores, gas stations, food, and the highway. However, this stay started off on a rough note during check-in and unfortunately impacted my overall experience. When I approached the front desk, the representative (I believe his name was Hudson) had just been warm and friendly with the guests ahead of me. But when it was my turn, his entire demeanor shifted. I greeted him politely, introduced myself, and asked how he was doing--he didn't acknowledge my greeting at all. He became very robotic, avoided eye contact, and rushed through the process in a way that felt uncomfortable and dismissive. The interaction continued to feel tense. He spoke quickly, made assumptions about my payment method, and presented documents to sign without explanation or engagement. The only time he made eye contact was when emphasizing rules about no smoking and no pets. I had previously called to confirm that I could bring my cat, who is an emotional support animal, and was told that would be allowed with documentation. When I explained this, he became agitated and insisted I must have spoken to a third party, implying the information I received wasn't valid. After requesting a manager, the situation shifted, and I was eventually allowed to proceed with a one-time fee instead of a nightly charge. However, the interaction felt unnecessarily difficult and uncomfortable. What made this experience more concerning was something I observed after checking in. When I connected to the TV system, I noticed that one of the device names visible on the network included a racial slur. Guests do not have the ability to rename these TVs--they are pre-programmed--so this is something that had to come from within the organization. That was extremely upsetting and unacceptable to see in a professional environment. It's 2026, and people are still out here using racial slurs, spreading hate instead of love and kindness. I'm not interested in being in environments that feel stuck in the past. I want to be around warm, welcoming, modern people who choose unity over division. This is the main reason I cannot rate this stay higher. While I understand that not everyone reflects this behavior, it raises serious concerns about oversight and accountability. Management should be more attentive to what is happening within their establishment, especially when it comes to creating a respectful and inclusive environment for all guests. It's disappointing because I've enjoyed staying here in the past. However, based on this experience, I don't feel comfortable returning and will choose to spend my money elsewhere moving forward.
