I stay in a LOT of hotels for business and have a good idea of the good, bad and ugly of the industry. When on a "guy's motorcycle trip", we go for the simple motel and don't expect much...thus Rodeway Inn's fit the bill. This one is one to pass on. I knew it was going to be rough when the proprietor reused the key card envelopes by erasing the previous guest's number and wrote in ours. (Reusing a paper sleeve to save a penny? Yikes). The rooms showed a lot of wear and cleanliness was not one of their priorities. (Shower had hairs, etc). The room had no hot water. The 'bar restaurant' isn't open. We skipped breakfast. TV worked and beds were made up nicely. The sheets were clean. Towels and wash clothes were stained. read more

ZERO stars is an understatement for this disgusting "inn". Long story short, staff was ignorant, never brought us towels, new toilet paper, heat in room didn't work, shower never got hot, breakfast consisted of half a loaf of bread, half gallon of milk, an apple, and coffee that was already brewed 2 days ago, room was never cleaned, water spots on ceiling, etc. when checking out we complained and the "manager" said we needed to ask for everything we needed, when we booked we were told that we will have fresh towels,sheets, etc. spoke with the other people staying and they said the same thing. Horrible place, god forbid anybody ever called a health inspector on this shit hole! read more

I'm not giving 4* because it's a travel destination, but because for $70, it's clean, has hot water, no goofy smells, no fear of stepping on critters, the shower was hot, coffee good. We needed a stop en route back from Chicago and the other local places had reviews including musty smells, centipedes (likely silverfish or other water bugs), overflowing toilets. The other options in middle of nowhere PA were $95-150 hotels. Really? We just wanted a place to sleep, one that wasn't gross because I'm too old for that & as good as my kids' immune systems are, ok, it's just me. Really. I just wanted a clean room that wouldn't give me some unknown air/mold/damp disease. This place is clean. The sheets are new. The bedspreads are new. The beds are firm. The coffee is dark & the shower hot. No funk from shower, floor, heater--yes, I've stayed in thousands of places now that I'm in my 40s, and this place was just awesome for what it was--a motel. Just one without funk. That deserves 4* when you've traveled up and down and across the country and even for $180+ have had funky rooms during dry season. We parked in front. AAA discount. $70/2 beds, $50 for 1. We ate at Ed's Steakhouse down the street because they were open & served wine. Nice staff, filet done rare and charred. read more

Will not visit again due to broken everything. Stayed here on 8/20/2021 because none of the nearby hotels were available. At first the hotel staff assigned me a large room, and I was quite happy about it, it wasn't as clean, but I do understand this is not hilton so I put up with it. However, three hours later after I entered the room, it's getting hotter by the moment, then that's when I realized the AC doesn't work. So I asked the hotel staff to switch me to another room. This time I ended up with a small room on the third floor. When I entered I found water under the AC, but at that point I just don't care so long as the AC worked, but it worked too well that it woke me up at 3am because it had become too cold, and no method to adjust it work. I rolled in bed for another two hours trying to fall asleep but it didn't work. I had enough by 530am and decided to check out. Terrible hotel, things don't work, dirty, staff don't speak English...I will never stay again read more

(*TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE*) I got a standard double bed smoking room for two adults and one pet. The total cost of the room after taxes and pet fee ($15.00) was $107.00 for one night. The check in process was a little slower paced but overall it went smooth. Once getting settled into the room I was ready to shower however the person also staying in the room had showered and used both of the two towels provided by the motel in our room. I went to the front desk to ask for two more clean towels and was told by the gentleman that "No, laundry locked for night". ((WHAT!? $107.00 a night and I cant even get a bath towel!?)) they also only provide one travel size shampoo and one package of bar soap. After I came back to the room and started to actually look around I noticed a few things that were less than appealing for example the cleanliness of things. At first glance things were overall satisfactory (beds made, floor swept, bathroom hair free, etc.) however when taking a closer look at things you could clearly come to the conclusion that the beds, trash, and bathrooms get a quick tidy up and not much extra cleaning gets done in the rooms. The phone and alarm clock were both FILTHY with dirt and crud all over them. The tray that the "ice bucket" sits on was equally disgusting, and there was dust/dirt building up on edges of bed frames, lights, and window shelf area. The wifi was decent. The gentleman working the front desk was not too sociable and seemed inconvenienced or irritable during both interactions had with him. Overall it was a dry room with beds, lights, tv, and heat but for the cost of $107.00 per night I will be staying elsewhere next time! Upon walking in the front entrance seemed dirty but my husband & I were only there to sleep so we proceeded with check in. We got our key card & went up to the room. First the key card wouldn't work so I went back to the front desk & they couldn't figure it out either so we ended up getting a different room. Then when we walked in the place was VERY DIRTY. There was stray hairs all over the bed, the floors looked like they hadn't ever been swept, & the bathroom was very dirty. The towels had STAINS. I was a little concerned of the bed because of the cleanliness so I checked the bed & be low & be hold I FOUND A BEDBUG!!!! We immediately went down to the front desk & the guy laughed and said "we don't have bedbugs" & wouldn't give us a refund. WE WERE ONLY IN THE ROOM FOR 30 MIN TOPS! In the end we went down the road to the Hampton inn. Terrible place! Don't waste your time or money!!!! read more

This is a clean affordable place to stay. Desk personnel was friendly and polite. Room is good if you just need a place to rest your head for the night. Had a fridge and coffee pot in room. Which was a plus. Bathroom was very clean. Kinda a funny odor in lobby area but room smelled fresh and clean. (We Got a non smoker room) Only bad thing, the motel is right off exit and my husband was kept up by the sound of the trucks "Jake-braking all night. Me, I can sleep through a hurricane do I didn't hear them. . However the "continental breakfast" could use some work. There was no waffle batter. Just some stale cereal and a supermarket box of stale muffins. Left hungry. Even the coffee was dreadful. But other than that I would recommend this place for a night. But eat at the diner across the street. Good food there. read more

For the type of travel I do, this hotel fit the bill. The room was clean, the tub/shower worked as expected. I was truly disappointed with WI-FI since I could not connect with either phone or laptop. Loss of two stars there folks! Wi-FI is expected at any location worth staying at. The morning breakfast was a joke. The waffle maker does not work, and the lights are off to save money. Changed me from the room I reserved to a room they use as a dog toilet (literally) I had a service dog with me and he wasn't allowed in their regular rooms. Thus we were put in a room that is basically used as a kennel. read more

If I could give no stars I would. First of all, the sheets were dirty on the bed. Secondly I asked for a non-smoking room, and the sheets had burn holes in them. There was black mold in the shower. The towels were stained and disgusting. The outside of the building looks nice on the front, and looked like a jail on the back. There were sketchy people drinking beer in the parking lot at 9 AM. They had the audacity to try to charge me a pet fee for a service animal. They also would not move me to a room that was not a "pet room". The worst of it was simply that once I'm in my room, settled in for the night, in my pajamas and toothbrush, that's when I discovered the disgusting sheets. It only makes you wonder what else in the room was not clean, or if anything at all had ever been cleaned. I will never ever stay at a Rodeway Inn again. Or a quality inn or any of the other comfort inn chain. Also, when I wanted to talk to the manager no one would even come to the front counter. There's a Bar like lounge type a thing in the back of the motel, I can only suspect that this place is a front for something because they certainly are not making their money renting hotel room. read more

Yep, giving it 5 stars, because you get what you pay for and I paid under $60. It was a perfect location and hotel for what we needed. We were traveling from Annapolis, MD, to Chicago. Just needed a couple hours sleep between locations to help beat the holiday traffic. Checked in at 11 pm and was back on the road by 5 am. I have spent $100+ for a similar stop and wasn't as satisfied with the room. PERFECT! Clean, fresh linens, a little cramped, one bed, bathroom door just barely cleared the sink, BUT it had a mini fridge and a coffee pot. AND easy access off/on the Turnpike ALL for under $60. If I could think of one word to describe my stay in the rodeway inn, that word would be: CHARMING! My expectations were like a roof blown off a small house in upstate Pennsylvania.
