Rooms are dark and the whole motel is definitely in need of some TLC. Lobby is dingy without any of the furniture pictured. Breakfast bar was very small, and only had a waffle machine, toaster, and microwave. No coffee or juice machine as pictured (there was lukewarm coffee in carafes and a pitcher of warm orange juice on the counter). Check in was 2pm - office manager called us slightly before 5 pm to ask if we "were still coming" (which we'd never had happen with a reservation before and I thought was just a bit creepy). With some fresh paint and minor repair work this could be a fantastic motel. Website photos need to be updated to reflect it currently.

First, Dad and I roll in pretty late--around 11 p.m.--so we don't really have any time to argue over hotels and pricing. We're both exhausted and want to sleep, but considering that we'd only be there a few hours, we were hoping for some late-nite special, similar to the Jupiter back home. No-could-do, apparently. In fact, while I had resolved to shell out around $85 for the night, including taxes, this particular price-gouger charged us $90 (I know, a whole $5 more...), but FOR WHAT? This was one of the outdoor-type hotels, where your door leads to a breezeway. Fine. But it was really stanky. And crappy. The kind of place you might take your married boyfriend on his lunchbreak. I was afraid there might be jizz in my bed if I took a black light to it. It reeked of retro carpet, and the bathroom was equally questionable. Too tired to argue over the lack of nice pillows or plush beddings, I ended up asleep as soon as my head hit the bed. Only to wake up to their piddly version of the "continental breakfast." The worst one we'd yet to have on our trip. Apple Jacks or Raisin Bran? Wait, you want MILK with your cereal? Diluted orange juice, powdered donuts, dry bagels. That was its extent. Not impressive at all. Especially for the price I paid to sleep there for less than 8 hours. Not to mention the fact that since it was now pouring, the straps for my cartop carrier had leaked water everywhere in my car. Not that this is any fault of Days Inn Weedsport, but it just added insult to injury. Prelude to one AMAZING move-in day (NOT).

The shower in the bathroom is to die for and the loft had a full kitchen so if you don't feel like eating out you can stay in and cook and enjoy your meal at the table right by the doors looking out at the lake , can't wait to plan our vacation for the summer time and bring the kids with us this time , they would love it just as much as we did ! The spa staff were very nice and took time to explain everything to me, since it was a while since I had been there. I found out at the front desk there would be a skincare event at 11 which fit in perfectly with my visit. I changed into my bathing suit, put on my robe and went into the quiet room, got some water and relaxed until my name was called. My masseuse took me into the room asking my preferences also any areas that needed more attention or to avoid. I got the Monet massage with my choice of scented oil. The experience was first class....my masseuse, Michelle, listened to everything I said. I went to the skincare event and came home with some lovely new items and a nice gift bag of products. I went back into the locker room to enjoy the steam room and the sauna. Then to the heated outdoor whirlpool ( they have a bar outside and a few light food items you can order). I knew I was going to have lunch overlooking the little bridge by the waterlily pond. The hostess was incredibly nice, it wasn't busy so we talked and she told me about the other locations. My French onion soup was some of the best I've had, full rich, flavored broth that was NOT too salty, nice soft bread inside and warm melty gruyere cheese. I had a turkey salad sandwich with bacon, tomato, lettuce and avocado on their homemade cranberry, walnut bread. It came with truffle Parmesan thin fries. The meal was excellent, and the service was great. Everybody I encountered was friendly, polite and helpful. The high level of hospitality was evident with everyone I encountered. The facility was clean and the entire time I was there all the little things were constantly being taken care of. Water refilled, dirty linen removed, areas wiped down, etc I can't wait for my next visit.

Sadly our experience didn't live up to Mirbeau's supposed good reputation. The gap between the price and the value of service was the size of the Grand Canyon. Our room was about $450 a night, closer to $500 after taxes. The rooms are pretty, even in the winter the view of the garden was nice. The bathrooms in the cottage rooms are spacious. Things went downhill at dinner in the attached restaurant. We were one of about 4 tables so it was a slow night. Our server did an adequate job, but the food was extremely disappointing. My fiance reported that there were bits of shell in all of his oysters. The cheese board wasn't very inspiring, for $24 I could have made the same thing myself at home after a stop at Wegmans. My filet was cooked wrong twice, after the second time where it came out still slightly overcooked I had it taken off the bill. My fiance finished half of his wagyu as it also fell very flat for him. Mind you, this was a $140 dollar steak entree, and the chef didn't even bother to salt the meat. We ended up having about half our meal comped and it was still over $300 to eat one of the worst fine dining meals we've ever had. The spa itself, like the rooms, were also just okay. The locker rooms are spacious and well stocked, and kept clean. One place that's lacking is that there's not enough waiting space for everyone. The "tranquility" waiting room with the foot pool is not enough room for people who are trying to lounge/meditate AND for people to congregate waiting for their spa services. It was awkward not really having somewhere to sit. My massage was ok, it felt more like a Swedish massage than it did a deep tissue. There wasn't any opportunity to request more attention be paid to certain areas with more tension (I told her my right arm is usually more sore and she kind of just ignored me and didn't touch that area at all). My masseuse said I was breathing incorrectly so I was too distracted by my breathing to enjoy my massage. We ended up cancelling our second night. I will never recommend Mirbeau to anyone.

He was very comfortable and loved the large green space outside. *We also liked that it was adults only when we were there. Cons: Parking is a little tight. When we arrived, we had trouble getting into door #1 but we figured it out. It was stuck and you had to push it hard to get it open. We wished there was more closet space or more space to put our two suitcases. The road The Bond is located on gave me "Pet Semetary" vibes... it's a highway with many fast cars and semi trucks driving by and there's no barrier between the grass and the road. I tried using my thermostat turning up to 74 degrees, and it didn't kick on at all. After about 30 minutes of waiting for it to turn on, it didn't. I went down the front desk around 10:20 and the lady sent up Scott, to look at my heater, but before he came in my room, I told him "There is a space heater in here, but I don't feel comfortable using it." He responded "Oh, people use them all the time" and offered to bring me another one. I then talked to my boss, and she called the front desk, to talk to whoever. Then at 11:30 the guy called and offered to move me to a different room, I declined because it was already 11:30 and I had quite a bit of things with me. So, at this point, I accepted that I was sleeping with no heat. I bundled up and used the 2nd blanket. It was miserable. The next morning, I go down to check out, and I told the lady at the front desk about my stay and that she was "super sorry and appreciated me telling her." I also explained that I wanted a refund and she told me that her GM had to do that. After leaving my boss called back there and talked to the lady at the front desk, and she used that they offered to move me, but I didn't want to against me. She then, sent my boss to the GM office fully aware that the general Manager wasn't even there yet. We still haven't heard back from the GM, and we will NOT be staying at this hotel ever again.

Never Going Back February 2026…read moreI have been staying at this hotel for years, had birthday parties here, celebrated Christmas's and holidays, and a long long time ago I even used to work there, but it has been awhile since I stayed there prior to Valentine's Day 2026. I am a travel agent and I travel a lot and stay at a lot of hotels. I love to swim and there are only 2 options in Auburn, NY, unfortunately, and I don't care for Hilton's pool the next block over because it is surrounded by windows so the room is cold. However, after last weekend, I will never be staying at this hotel again or any Holiday Inn. We arrived at 4:00pm on Valentine's Day, check-in is at 3:00pm, and the front desk attendant proceeded to tell us they didn't have any rooms ready. Uh......what? It's 4:00. I could understand if we were early or even 5 - 10 minutes after 3:00pm, but we were not. So, he calls housekeeping and finds out that room #203 is ready, directly to the side of the service elevator. Ok, fine. All night long it was "Boom Boom Boom Boom" from the elevator doors slamming shut and mechanical clanking noises etc. and when we turned on the air conditioner to cool down the sweltering room, it sounded like a freight train for the duration it was on. This clunking symphony continued all night (and morning). Fine. I'm not usually bothered by much, but I was definitely annoyed. Don't even get me started about the ridiculous sliding barn door that doesn't lock or actually close in any way so anyone in the entire room can hear EVERY SINGLE NOISE coming from the bathroom. Who in their right mind EVER thought that was tasteful or anything that people WANT?????!!! Then we went to get in the pool, but there were a bunch of kids/people in there, so I decided to wait. Being a plus-sized girl I am not really a big fan of running the hallways in my bathing suit for everyone to see, so my fiance checked the pool every 1/2 hour to see if it had cleared out any. No. Ok, I guess I'll get up early in the morning and go swimming. It should be quieter then. Well, when I got up in the morning, I went to use the black make-up washcloth they give guests to use for makeup removal and when I opened it up, there were crusty bits of God knows what in it, but it looked like morning eye crusties.....not from me or the fiance.......so I couldn't use that disgusting thing. I then realized that we had only been given one set of towels, including one washcloth, for a room for 2 people. Since I couldn't use the makeup washcloth and my fiance had already used the one and only regular washcloth, he had to go hunt down the non-existent housekeeping staff to find a washcloth for me. After this, we finally head out to go down to the pool, and when we get to the main elevator (that comes out right next to the pool..........it is out of order. Are you kidding me? At this point I am starting to get really frustrated that I stayed here and I am about to check-out and go home, but I really still wanted to go swimming since I paid just under $200 to do that, so we headed down the stairs across from the elevator and tried not to freeze to death in our swimming attire while the stairway area temp was about 10 degrees because it is also connected to an outside door at the bottom and the stairways are clearly not heated. Now, on the IHG (Holiday Inn's parent company/owner) app, it states that the pool operating hours are: 9:00am - 8:00pm. Ok, it's 9:30am and we try to open the gate, and it's locked. The sign on the front of the locked gate states that the "Atrium quiet hours are 9:00pm - 9:00am." Ok, it's 9:30am, so fiance heads to the front desk to inquire about getting the gate unlocked. While he is gone, a family with little kids all ready with their bathing suits and swimmies on, comes down to go swimming too. Fiance returns from the front desk, who is refusing to open the pool, and he un-velcros the sign from the gate to take to the front desk to show them what it says. I double check the IHG app to make sure I read the pool hours correctly and the manager at the front desk, Carrie, says that she has to "Verify that" and also that she has "no idea who put that sign there" and proceeds to do nothing but refuse to open the pool. Oh, and by the way, the actual Holiday Inn website also lists the exact same pool operating hours as the IHG app, and the OWNER in their own response to other reviews visible online to the public, specifically states the POOL OPERATING HOURS ARE 9:00am - 8:00am, Carrie. Quiet hours were respected, 9:00pm - 9:00am, there was absolutely nothing else going on that day, and you had multiple people waiting to get in the pool and yet, the great and wonderful Carrie could care less about the little kids excited to go swimming, hospitality or customer service of any kind, or actually knowing what Holiday Inn's own website, app, and owner actually say, and was more interested in being rude and inhospitable. Hotels are a part of the hospitality industry
