Had a food tasting here and was pleasantly surprised! I thought the food was pretty good for catering food! Barbara was unable to meet with us, but Kevin helped us out for the day. When we arrived at the storefront, the table was beautifully set-up for us. Here is what we tried: -Salad with Italian or Ranch Dressing: nothing special here -Bread Rolls: again nothing special -Lemon Chicken w/ Bearnaise Sauce & Capers: pretty good! The sauce was creamy and lemony. The dish was also surprisingly light and the meat was moist -Steamed Vegetables: nothing special here -Mashed Potatoes: Pretty good mashed potatoes! We had a tough time choosing between Mashed Potatoes and Oven Roasted Potatoes because both were good -Tri Tip Roast, Au Jus: Pretty good! Moist meat and yummy sauce. Can easily please anyone's palette! -Mediterranean Stuffed Chicken Breast w/ Cream Basil Sauce: Our favorite dish! SUCH STRONG, YUMMY FLAVORS. Paired with the rice pilaf, it is PERFECT. Without the rice pilaf, it can be a bit too strong. We ended up (sadly) not going with this dish, because we were afraid not everyone would like the strong flavor. We loved it though! -Rice Pilaf: Nice, flavorful rice! Really good! -Roasted Vegetables: Much better than the steamed vegetables. Better flavor and nice char -Roast Pork w/ Cherry Wine Sauce: I actually really liked this one! I loved how you could see and taste the fat marbling in the pork. It was tasty when paired with the sweet cherry wine sauce! Without the sauce, it was a bit boring -Oven Roasted Potatoes: Really good potatoes! -Assorted Desserts: TWO WORDS. CARROT. CAKE. Holy moly their carrot cake was SOOOO GOOOOOD. The lemon bar was tasty too. The other desserts were not as good Here's what we ended up ordering for our event (a bridal shower): Half Lemon Chicken w/ Bearnaise Sauce & Capers & Half Tri Tip Roast, Au Jus with 2 sides (Oven Roasted Potatoes or Rice Pilaf (I can't remember) & Roasted Vegetables). Rodgers catering is unprofessional. Do NOT book with this company. They will make sure to sample you AMAZING FOOD only to provide TERRIBLE service ON YOUR SPECIAL DAY. I cannot stress enough how deceitful this company is. If you complain, good luck on getting anything resolved. They will straight out IGNORE YOU and lie about their service. EXCELLENT!!! I had a last minute request to cater my 18 year old's Hamilton themed birthday party. She wanted sliders and fries so she could call them HamBurrgers and History has it's fries on you to go with the theme. Although that's what I originally intended on ordering I also ordered fettuccine Alfredo and salad. The guests tried the food before I did and all responses we positive. When I finally made my plate I too was happy. Barbara was exceptional with communication with me which is something I greatly appreciate. Thanks for squeezing us in. I recently attended a wedding where this company was the contracted catering provider/service. Rodgers company, specifically Kevin, is incredibly rude, and if you have a single complaint, and can back it up with VIDEO, not only will they refuse to meet with you, but call you a liar. This company does not follow thru on agreed upon services. I would NOT RECOMMEND this company for important events such as weddings. Some of the many issues that came up with this company, were that of half of the agreed upon waiters not showing up (contacting for 8, only 4 showing up), not serving iced water at an outdoor wedding, no bussing of tables, not following the itinerary, totally excluding the cake cutting and serving service. Worst part, is that there were guests with specific dietary needs that were to be served. A special menu was discussed for them (no cross contamination, allergies, gluten free) and when the catering company showed up, they had NO IDEA WHAT TO DO AND DID NOT HAVE THESE PLATES PREPATED. As a result several guests did not eat at this wedding. The reason the servers did not know about this accommodation was because they appeared to be subcontracted last minute due to a head coordinator being out ill. All the planning that was discussed was not executed as a random group of servers showed up!! What a joke of a company honestly. What a disappointment. This company completely dropped the ball and they can't even make it right or even acknowledge their horrific service despite having proof of all of these concerns including pictures of family members needing to pour the champagne for the toast due to a complete lack of service. DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY. They're not cheap and if they mess up, they won't meet with you, won't hear you out and are incredibly rude. read more

Go read the one star comments before booking this company. If this was a legitimate company they would have been professional in how they handled their upset customers. My parents liked everything this company mentioned at their tasting and booked with them for their wedding 5 months prior and having a specific plan with Barbra that all needs would be met. The day of the wedding we find out everyone is sick which is fine but communicate all the details to the new staff. This was a disaster the entire wedding party was walking around pouring our own water and champagne for guests. We asked for specific dietary meals such as gluten free but the staff had no idea. I had to continue to get up and ask them to serve guest as they arrived. My parents were promised left over food seeing as 30 guests didn't show but there was nothing left, plates that were paid for. There was no lemonade and tea for the guest even though that was supposed to be provided. I can go on with a list. The reason I am writing this is how it was handled or not handled. I listened to the conversation and aside from the manager being extremely rude to my mom they said her claims were not warranted and they would NOT meet with her. Recently attended a wedding with this company catering... I let the them know I had food allergies.. and they day of the wedding they had appetizers that had crab in them which I'm allergic to (which isn't a problem) but the company was suppose to label everything to help the people out who do have food allergies and 100% they didn't plus they where suppose to make sure no cross contamination was happening with the appetizers. (which they didn't look out for) so I didn't want to risk it so I didn't eat any appetizers. Then with dinner my cousin who has food allergies also had to re ask them about her plate cause they brought out the wrong food for her , and the waiter looked confused and didn't know that we were talking about. She ended up not eating at all that night. With toasting with champagne they didn't even serve it us, or make the effort to. I noticed the brides nieces and nephews going around doing there job! This company is just so unprofessional! I wouldn't book with them at all or even tell my worst enemy to book with them! They should be accountable for there HORRIBLE services! read more

These guys did such a great job. Barbara is the best. I told her what we were doing and she gave me options. We ended up with a very nice party. I was turning 60 so we had a 60's theme party. The menu was more like a Barbeque with Ribs, Chicken, Hot Dogs, Macaroni salad, Red potato salad, Green salad, Corn on the cob and watermelon. They showed up about a half hour before and set everything up. My guests were ready to eat right at the beginning of the party and the food was excellent. They brought the service ware too. Absolutely great!!! I ordered catering for my son's baptism about 3 weeks out and was perfectly accommodated! Barbara was so amazing and helped me to make sure I ordered extra servings to feed 15 ppl ( as some ppl go eat more than 1 piece of chicken) which I never would have thought of. She communicated throughout the weeks so well and made me feel very confident in what to order! We had the perfect amount of food, serving utensils and eating utensils. My daughter just got married last weekend and we couldn't be more pleased with how beautiful everything was and how delicious dinner was because of Rodger's Catering. The dill red potato salad and Italian chicken pasta salad. The salads were a big hit...my picky niece loved the Italian chicken pasta salad the most. The fruit salad worked well, too. During our "staff day" at work yesterday we had Rodger's Catering bring in lunch. WOW! The best catered food I've ever had. There are rave reviews here at work today. Delicious, fresh, beautiful...it was so good seconds and thirds were not uncommon. Mashed potatoes so creamy and delicious, stuffed chicken breast with an awesome sauce, sliced beef with BBQ sauce that was so much better than your average outdoor grilled meats! I use Rodger's for Catering, everything from Sandwich platters, pasta, salads, etc. We have had them cater for as little as 6 and as many as 75 and they always do a fantastic job. I absolutly love their sandwichs, they are great portions and quality products. And when you use them for catering they have this Mexican Cesar Salad that is to die for! I have tried to replicate it, even tried the one at El Torito and nothing comes close to the quality they have. If you have an event and want to take the worry out of what to cook or how to set up, leave it to them, they are professional and courtous and always make sure your event is the best. read more

It is difficult to believe that these five star reviews are real and were not written by some friend of the company. Our experience with Rodger`s Catering was horrible. Barbara is a prima donna and very difficult to work with. She likes to throw temper tantrums. Also, after booking them a year in advance, they cancelled our event on four days` notice. We were having several hundred guests, so their unreliability was a huge problem. Also, they don`t answer emails or phone calls for weeks at a time. They are very nice until you book them. Then they can`t be bothered with you. Avoid them or you will be scrambling at the last minute for a substitute catering company. Not professional at all. read more

For my mother's 90th birthday party I ordered hors d'oeuvres to be catered from here. BIG mistake. Not only is their online menu not up to date (do you have any idea how hard it is to sit down and plan food with a nice 90 year-old lady who lives 20 miles from you, drive back to your office, call to order the food and then be told it's an "old" online menu and half the stuff is no longer available, without even an apology from a woman who acted liked taking your order to begin with was a big favor...?) but when it arrived it was hardly warm, dry, not at all fresh and mostly tasteless. This was a VERY special event and I wanted it to be. My family were nice about it but three of them confided in me that they thought the food was awful. We have used Rodger's Catering for almost 20 years, for events from 25 - 700. We just recently used their services at a 3-day motorhome rally held at Puddingstone Park. Rodger's provided breakfast, lunch and dinner for 3 days. The response from our attendees was overwhelming in how much they LOVED each and every meal. The meals ranged from scrambled egg cassaroles, tri-tip, pulled bbq pork & chicken lemon chicken, chicken pasta salad, fajitas, enchiladas, cesar salad, not to mention the EXTREMELY tasty (and beautiful) desserts. Rodger's makes their own bbq sauce and cesar dressing - both are OUTSTANDING! Rodger's can put together a menu to fit any budget. They are punctual and are your "one-stop shop" for catering (tables, chairs, linen, etc.).
