They give real plates and utensils if you choose to eat in and they also have a gelato station, there's a big variety of offerings. Rodilla is a franchise chain and this particular one as with all the others is merely a good place to go for an inexpensive cold sandwich and a beverage. There really isn't any reason to go out of your way for the place but if you happen to be near it and have the munchies or want to spend some coffee time chatting with your friends without having to surrender your wallet, it's difficult to beat. Also, the restrooms are better than average in this area, the service is polite and nobody seems to hurry or push you. read more

This is a satisfactory sandwich and ice cream bar with Gluten Free Toasties. The Staff struggled to understand english and when I tried to call them over on numerous occasions but I cant fault them for trying. My cheese and ham toastie was okay, considering it was Gluten Free, it was a nice Toastie however I would of prefered it cooked more. I ordered a Coffee Milkshake, on the pictures they looked superb presentation wise however my drink was overloaded with toffee sauce, not one tasting more like Coffee so it didnt taste great. I did have to point to the flavouring I wanted as the staff didnt understand but once again I thank them for trying. I know this place is a little chain, but I was happy to find an inexpensive place to grab some breakfast. I had their breakfast plate with ham and tomato on bread with coffee. It was good, fresh, and cheap. It also was open in the morning when nothing else was, so that was a huge plus. read more

QUICK & SIMPLE: We stopped by this 75 Rodilla restaurant for a cheap and quick bite to eat in the late afternoon. This is a cafeteria style place that does not have waiter service, it's self service at the counter. They offer a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, empanadas, croquettes, soda, juice and coffee. A menu option for 7 euros is 1 (half) hot sandwich with 2 (half) cold sandwiches and a beverage. They had about 10 hot sandwiches ranging from smoked bacon with cheese to prosciutto with pesto to mozzarella and arugula. They had about 20 cold sandwiches ranging from ham spread to foie gras to herbed cream cheese with spring mix salad. There is seating on the inside as well as a few tables on the street. My friends and I stopped in for a quick lunch last weekend in Madrid. Someone in our group who had been there before was raving about how great it is, but I just thought it was "okay". I chose the option for 4 mix n match 1/2 sandwiches with a soda for 6.5 euros. I had a ham sandwich, curry chicken, pimientos with anchovies and blue cheese with arugula. The curry chicken and blue cheese were both outstanding delicious, the others were just so so. The sandwiches were fairly small so it really wasn't enough food. Could have had 4 more! As far as the environment, there was plenty of comfortable seating upstairs, which was much appreciated after a long day of endless walking around the city so I give them a thumbs up for that. This is a coffee and sandwich shop in the Puerta del Sol area. This is an excellent place to go for cold sandwiches, croissants, pastries, coffee and tea. Their specials are awesome, very affordable. The counter has a long refrigerated display case (deli style) so you can choose the sandwiches you want. I love this place so much that I have been coming here at least once a day for snacks or breakfast. Please see photos to give you an idea of how their sandwiches look like. All of the sandwiches I've tried at this restaurant were fresh, budget friendly and most importantly simple but oh so delicious. (this is just a review of rodilla in general, not this specific location) I LOVE RODILLA. In the time I was in Madrid, I probably ate there a dozen times, no kidding. Everything is SO CHEAP, SO FRESH, and SO DELICIOUS!! I cannot imagine why this franchise has not expanded abroad to other cities and other countries. Really liked this place. There's plenty of seating, drinks come out fast, there's a constant service cleaning up after people, the only thing I have to dock them for is their bathrooms. They're not the best but at least they have some! read more

I love how cheap this place is. My boyfriend and I bought 5 sandwich halves... All of them were pretty tasty. I tried the foie gras, vegetal, and one with jamon and some kind of seeds on the outside.
