He was extremely friendly and met with me a few times before the procedure and met with me afterwards for follow-up visits. He had excellent bedside manner and made me feel extremely important as his patient. He didn't check my teeth and then leave, he would ask me how I felt and listened to what I would say and spent time with me without rushing. I also had a follow-up visit with him and went a few hours beforehand to see if he could see me earlier and he squeezed me in! I was really happy. I would recommend anyone to check out Dr. Tiner's office at Alamo Maxillofacial Surgicial Associates. You won't regret it :)

Great surgeon--shady business practices…read more I used this office because the surgeon is a preferred provider with my insurance. Imagine my surprise when the office charged me upfront for the surgery--I've never had a preferred provider charge me anything but a copay until the bill is settled. But that's not all. They charge *twice* for each implant--two different charges--even though my insurance company states that they allow only one charge and will disallow any "broken out" fees. And they also--in my case, at least--refused to calculate my bill using the PDP schedule (the Preferred Provider maximum charges). (They claimed they "didn't have to.") This meant that they overcharged me by thousands of dollars! Now the insurance company has settled the claim and says I owe only half what this office charged me. But the office refuses to pay up. They claim it's "your policy, not ours," so it's my problem that the insurance company doesn't support their shady practices--even though they signed a contract with my insurance company. They claim they'll pay me my money only when the insurance company "corrects" the claim. The insurance company says it's correct already.

I have been suffering from some crazy difficult episodes ever since I got sick with Covid. This so called Dr. Has called me crazy, said I should be in a psych ward with the way I look when I have episodes and has said I'm acting like I'm on drugs all while I've been trusting him to help me through this horrible time in my life. There are several other things with his office and you expect to wait hours because he's with each patient for a long time and at first I appreciated that but with the fact that I'm supposed to trust this guy to help me and all the name calling & assumptions with a 2-3 wait time to be seen it's just not worth it. He sticks to what he thinks he knows, he's very close minded and while he listens to you, if it doesn't line up with his experiences then you're "on drugs" when your heart races or when you're shaking from these weird episodes he tells you "You look like you should be in a psych ward and to calm down" and then he'll over talk you when you try to explain what's happening and it goes against "his knowledge". He will not believe you and he'll get defensive when explain things. He also tried to tell me my heart rate went to 108 when I wore a monitor for 1 week when it went to 170 the day I walked out of his office with it on and then there were several other episodes of that as well so who knows if it was faulty or even my results but I was never able to get to the bottom of it because he was never willing to listen after the first visit. This guy needs to take a step back and remember why he became a doctor but to me it's just for the money so he can tell patients what he learned in school and then treat you like you're a crazy person when you try to get the help you so desperately need. I let him finish his work up on me because it felt like the right thing to do but I fully regret it and wish I would have gone elsewhere after the first time he stopped listening and started treating me poorly. The people that are suffering from long Covid are going through enough, we don't need "help" from some guy with a few degrees degrading us in the process. I regret trusting him to look at my heart, here is the texts where after I had an ep study fully under that I came home and had an episode that was insanely scary and his response to me was I'm acting like I'm on drugs as I was suffering from affects of all the medications given for the procedure that I explained previously makes these things happen. He clearly doesn't listen or care. Avoid him and find a doctor willing to help, heart troubles are scary enough. I pray he finds himself asking for redirection because the next person may not be as mentally strong as I am.

If you need surgery: he checks on you throughout the entire process - from the moment you enter the hospital, throughout your stay and after you are released. He monitors your post-operative care and physical therapy. Even though Dr. Widman was not my surgeon, the incredibly successful outcome of my open heart surgery was due in large part to his diagnostics, care, advocacy and expertise. If you want the best, I highly recommend Dr. Lawrence Widman.

My first appointment, she was very transactional and very I interested and distant. Only taking to her laptop and barely looking up from her computer sounding like a robot and not personable one bit. That appointment lasted all about 15 minutes and she in that 15 minutes already determined that She will take me off of 2 medications I have been on and one that I have used occasionally and safely for many years without question. In between appointments, I had called for a refill on prescription and was called back and told the doctor will be taking me off the medication and will no longer be filling. My 3 month follow up was just as upsetting and disappointed. I questioned the doctor why I had such a message of she was not going to refill a prescription and she did not have a valid andswer besides it's addictive and blah blah. I was on the lowest dosage and never over requested for refills. Sometimes going months between. Was told I need to see a psychiatrist and made the referral. Later, I was reviewing my medical records for another procedure I was having, I discovered this Doctor noted in my records that I had a dependency and addiction to the medication all off of a 15 minute conversation. When discussing this with the psychiatrist she referred the psychiatrist she referred said the previous doctor couldn't be more incorrect and she sees absolutely NO SIGNS of dependency and said that the doctor can update her records and if she needs to talk to her to reach out. I sent a message to the doctor via her patient portal and asked her to correct her records because I do not want dependency or addiction accusations following me for the future and the doctor refuses to make corrections and came up with some bullshit reasons why it's not as bad as it seems. Dr. Hernandez needs to educate herself more on treating her patients and improve her bedside manner. I will never go back to this clinic. She did no kind of treatments or attempts to help her patient but just passed judgement and refusing treatments that works for the patient in the past.

Was advised to schedule the Pap, mammogram and blood work. That appointment was not communicated, showed up and Dr didn't know why I was there. I was sent to get the mammogram and blood work outside of the practice and was rescheduled for the pap. I got all my exams done and scheduled my appointment for the pap. Was called a day before appointment and was told I needed to reschedule that the Dr. Would not be in. Ok rescheduled, at this point I'm frustrated it's nothing big getting this done but it's has taken months at this point. Go in for 4th appointment and am told that they tried to call to reschedule yet again that the Dr wasn't in. 5th appointment just a week later and I'm not on the books. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I'm finally seen only took 6 months to have a normal pap done. Trying to get a simple Rx refilled is pulling teeth. Hardest practice to work with. You will have to be assertive and be demanding for the simplest things. Thank god I'm healthy.
