On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, around 6pm, I was waiting in line to purchase a few things at Cookbook. The customer in front of me put her basket on the register and then went to grab a few more items. No worries. I moved toward the register to pay for my purchase while that customer grabbed her other items, but I was intercepted by another customer, a man (who apparently didn't see me waiting?) who cut in front of me to buy a loaf of bread. The cashier let him do so, cashing him out and answering his questions about some other items while I continued to wait. Once his transaction was done, he noticed me and apologized for cutting in front of me in line. Again, no worries. As I went to move up to purchase my items again, the first customer hopped in front of me, back to purchase her items. Or so I thought! She actually put more items on the counter and turned to me saying "I'm going to grab one more thing", before taking off to, assumedly, grab one more thing. I waited for a bit longer, while the cashier simply waited on the woman to come back to her items instead of letting me purchase my items. Annoyed, I turned to the friend who I was shopping with and mentioned 'I kinda just wanna put this back and take off'. This apparently enraged the woman who had all of her items on the counter, who was shopping behind me for her additional item, because she remarked "Really? You have that much rage in your body?". Of course, she hadn't witnessed that I had already been cut in line and had been waiting to cash out for nearly 5 minutes. However, as a Black woman, I knew exactly where her comment was coming from and that she would've absolutely never made a comment like that to me if I didn't have the color skin that I have. At no point in the whole saga did the cashier, nor any of the other employees, take any steps to intervene on my behalf, letting either of the customers who were so rude to me know that I should be next in line. It probably seems petty or minor, but the whole situation did ruin the rest of my day. And it think it was hurtful enough to warrant a conversation with whoever was working at that time. With customer service jobs, the core of your responsibilities are kind of self-explanatory. They're in the title!

So I was surprised to find a wide selection of soda pops both soda as singles and cases. They also had alcohol, toys, candies, snacks, a sandwich station, and a custom soda station. We each made two custom sodas with my flavors being watermelon blueberry and coconut rose. My husband used the heavy bubbles option while I opted for the light bubbles option. We were able to write out flavors on the label attached to the bottle and seal our sodas after making them. I was so excited to see they had the Faygo root beer that our friend introduced us too along with five additional flavors available for that brand at the store. I grabbed a vanilla crème Faygo and orange Faygo to try later. Their candy was mostly the old school stuff with the Idaho Spud catching my interest, which turned out to be similar in flavor to the Hostess Snowballs so I'm excited to go back and get more in the future. Overall a good experience and glad we don't have to go too far to find our favorite soda brand.

They make it very simple to shop for what you need and I never expected the quality to be as good as it is. It's a smaller store, but they do have a big array of groceries! I witnessed a customer because very very disrespectful and difficult to Angie & Maria - yet they handled her with grace and were so professional (yet firm) in the process. Christian helped me bring my groceries to my car and even packed it in the trunk for me. The staff here goes above and beyond and I will definitely be coming back :)

I ordered a rib roast for pickup and was charged for a 21.75 lb roast. When the employee brought it to my car, the vacuum seal on the package was loose and the meat looked brownish-green. I asked if it looked safe, and even he said it looked strange. He helped me put it into a cart and suggested I take it to the meat department for an exchange. When I got there, the meat department first questioned how long I'd had it for the seal to be "loose," then tried convincing me that it was normal and that the packaging never comes fully vacuum sealed. I told them I simply wanted an exchange. The employee seemed irritated but eventually brought out another roast. Then he peeled the sticker off the original roast and placed it onto the new one. I asked whether it was the same weight because the replacement was clearly much smaller. He insisted it was "the exact same thing" since it had the same sticker on it, and told me that if I didn't like it, I could come back tomorrow because customer service was not open today. Got home and the scale reads 19.5lbs (2.25lb over charged). Disappointed in the experience.
