We just finished dining at the plaza across the street at the Vineyard so this grocery store was just convenient to go to. We found parking just fine since we came around evening time. The store wasn't busy but we saw the line to check out. The stores closed the self checkout with many checkout station so people had to use the other one that only had 3 checkout station. The cashier line was backed up too so people just had to wait. We found everything that we needed here. We don't come to this Ralph often because it's out of the way for us. I checked out the pre package sushi they had but the price was toward the pricer side so I didn't get it.

They prepare food fresh on the spot for you in the back corner. Note it is strictly to-go, no dine in options. The gentlemen in the store were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond to answer our questions about how they prepare their fresh meats on the grill. Many, many thanks for the grilling demo! The marinated meats available all displayed in the case and they pull straight from there, it's fresh and made to order. We decided on a plate of chicken breast and a plate of beef lule (ground beef kabob). After placing our order, we had some time to browse the groceries and imported goods in the store. You'll find a wide variety of Middle Eastern and European goods. We picked out some imported Italian and Russian snacks as well as some lavash bread to eat with hummus at home. At home, we feasted! The meats are marinated and seasoned to perfection, tender and flavorful. The guys even cooked up a few pieces of pork ribs for us to try. And let me say, we may have to get a plate of just those next time!! The plate comes with salad (tomato, cucumber, dill, onion), hummus, lavash and rice. Don't sleep on their garlic sauce, that stuff is potent and HEAVENLY. Portion sizes are large and shareable in my opinion and prices are reasonable for the amount, and more importantly, the quality, of food you're getting. I wanted to preorder so that I didn't have to stand there for a long time while they shuck them all. And you would think they would like to be prepared for a big order ahead of time. Since they wouldn't let me preorder, I went in to place my order and made sure it was $1 day. He said yes and then a few seconds later, we'll only of your a prime member. The guy on the phone the day before never told me that. They wouldn't do it. So I wasted my time and left angry because I am not a prime member. That's why I called the day before to make sure. I was so disappointed with this location. The Whole Foods on Ventura used to let me preorder my oysters and they always had them prepared over ice for me when i arrived. So that I wasn't standing around for an hour waiting for them to be shucked. To me it's just common sense to do a preorder for a large order and easier for everyone all around. Very disappointed. Yesterday I visited Smart and final between the hours of 10 and 11 am …read more and as you can see I have gone here in the past that prompted me to make reviews, for the great employees that worked there at that time. unfortunately some of the employees when I made those reviews are no longer at Smart and final! so yesterday I went to Smart and final and as I was shopping, I went to the meat area and I noticed there was some Jenny O ground turkey and farmer John breakfast sausage links that should not have still been on the shelf to be sold because they were already turning brown in color. so I look for a manager and I happen to find a manager that was in the aisle where the aluminum pans are kept, and I informed him yesterday in the afternoon that there's some meat Jenny O ground turkey that's in the meat area that's turning brown and he needs to pull those off of the shelf so that no one gets sick. so he said to me "oh thank you for telling me ( I )will go and take them off of the shelf... so I felt pretty secure that he was gonna go and take care of it since he said that (he) would well I went to Smart and final today in the morning at around 9:30 10 o'clock and lo and behold. The meats were still there, but not only were they still there someone put a couple of discount tags on it as a markdown! well I was shocked because I know no one wants to buy any brown dark looking ground turkey meat that should be red in color or at least pink in color even for a lower price. Those meat should not still be on the shelf to be sold! so once again I went and I looked for a manager and informed her of the discussion that went on yesterday with me and the other manager well, ...the manager that I saw today, her name is Jackie, and I must say Jackie immediately walked over with me and noticed the very thing that I noticed and she removed them immediately from the shelves because she saw also that those meat should not have stayed there after speaking to a manager yesterday! they should have been removed I asked her would she have purchased any meat that look like this? She said absolutely not. so she thanked me. I asked her what her name was so that's why I felt it necessary to make this review Jackie deserves 10 stars... Jackie, was the one who obviously is looking out for the customers at this particular smart and final, she's the one that gets the credit and the good customer review.
