My second time visiting this Jons location a few weeks ago. I see lots of potential at this store. Its in a better location. Their produce is fresh If you pic it up early in the week. I like their fresh cherries and fruits. I also like their frozen Armenian and Middle Eastern Meatballs, Baklava, and desserts. Service is the best at this location. Prices are still a bit high here. Place is lowkey terrible. The cashier workers are always so rude and even if u go to self checkout, they ignore u when you ask for a bag and keep talking to each other or stand in your way. I keep fresh flowers in the house at all times. The one and only place where I buy them is Jon's. They have a wide selection from green plants and fresh cut flowers to orchids and succulents. It's the only place that I buy flowers and they last forever. You have to browse through the selection yourself. Usually there is only one floral salesperson if any. But that's okay. I stopped by this Jons in the morning to get some pastries and a soda before my dentist appointment next door. I found parking easily in the plaza this store is located in. There a Lilit Bakery Cafe that is on the right side of the store when you walk in. They had some good pastries options. The grocery store is a decent size inside and the prices are reasonable. I found the soda I wanted and also got some gum. Before checking out, I saw where they kept more beverage in a open refrigerator so I went to look at the options there. I saw a coconut water brand that I like so I got that instead of a Cherry coke. The price for the coconut bottle was way higher. After I got my coconut water I went to checkout with a cashier. This store also have self checkout too but since they were not busy inside, the cashier didn't have a line. read more

Today I went to Jon's market & decided for the first time to pick up lunch there i stood in line waiting to order, when the young man starting helping the women who came after me, as I stood in front of the line! So I let that go then another customer walked up behind her and the manager Angel starting helping him. I stood there and asked if they don't see meeee? Just then this rude young girl cant pronouns her name but she wears alot of makeup said she would help me so as I go to order she had a really bad attitude and rolled her eye at me and said what do you want? So I said for her not to help me, not with that bad attitude as her supervisor Angel stood there and saw the whole thing unfold and never said one thing!!!! He should have at least said somethin! All I say Buyer beware with this rude department!!! I will further this because I have never felt so disrespected like this team made me feel! I think Jon's needs to reevaluate your employees maybe this is why your rating are so low( 3stars)!! FYI I did speak to the manager of this store after another customer had just finished complaining about another employee but she didn't even care about helping the customer she just said sorry that happened! So when I approached her I new she wasn't going to care she was just in a hurry to go to lunch!! I stop by here maybe once every two weeks to pick up some deli meat for work lunches. They absolutely have delicious deli options. This has become my go to deli. The deli staff is always very kind and helpful. They take pride in the service that they provide you. Always checking with you on how thin or thick you want your slices, offering you a taste of what you're ordering to make sure it's up to your standards. I feel like they always go above and beyond to make sure I'm satisfied with my selection. The rest of the staff is really a hit or miss. Sometimes you have extremely friendly kind cashiers other times it's very obvious they want to be doing anything but helping you. Or more likely not wanting to be there at all. I haven't shopped at this location many times but it is decent and spacious. Jon's has good, reasonably priced produce and I am a fun of their deli section. Their hummus is the best. Nice pasta salad type section. I enjoy getting European brands of chocolates, jellies, pickled veggies, beers. They do have merchandise from all over the world and that makes it fun for me. Love the rose juice from Bulgaria when they have it in stock and the eggplant dip aka zacusca from my native Romania. The aisles are smaller here but can't have it all. I have been here a few times over the years. It's very spacious, organized and well stocked. It's an international specialty store where they carry variety of imported products from Armenia, Russia, Persia, Mexico and more. You will find many unique items here such as imported cheese, jams, cookies, dips etc... they have a food court as well that sells kebabs, pilaf, salad and variety of hot and cold foods. They is also Sasoun bakery inside this store that sells freshly baked lahmajun and byoreks. Right next to it there is Lilits bakery that sells cakes, pastries and cookies. A lot to choose from. This supermarket can literally be a one stop shop, from freshly baked bread to the freshet produce and mead. They have it all. Prices are ok on most things but some things are very overpriced Customer service needs improvement even after many years of coming here it's still the same. read more

I've only been to this JONS location a handful of times but each time I've visited, I've always found what I needed. Most of the times its for replenishing the liquor cabinet. Since I don't come by often I forget what their stock is like. I say that because JONS has a little bit more than any regular markets do. Their selection is great and I can't complain. During my most recent visit I went through one of their two doors and boom! the section I wanted was just right there. Easy access and there is nothing more to it. Also during this visit the staff was very friendly. Greeting the regulars and it might be a one off but the customers were nice as well. There was a pregnant woman in front of me. She was on her phone and was kicking her basket to advance in the line. I asked her if she wanted me to help her load the merch on the belt as it was her turn to load up and the belt started to have a lot of space. The lady told me that I could go in front of her. I was confused about that but still advanced. I still asked her if she needed help then proceeded to help her load the merch. I thought maybe it was all in my head and I was being paranoid, but the previous reviews validated my suspicion of the employees being racist. Almost every time I go, the employees come over and try to accuse me of stealing and try to get me to give them more than I should. On one occasion I was buying eggs along with a few other items at self check out. Some mishap happened that required an employee to punch in a code to continue. Instead of doing so and walking away, the lady accused of me of not paying for the eggs even though it was clearly showing up on the screen. She kept going through every single product saying I didn't pay for it. I had to physically count the items on the screen and show her the name of the brand word for word until she walked away without saying anything. Another instance, a different woman offered me a bag at self checkout while I was already done paying and then accused me of not paying for the bag. One time I was buying persimmons which I had typed in using keywords at checkout and the employee came over, deleted it and said these are something else which were much more expensive. When I went home I looked up the product that she changed it to which were literally another word for persimmons and they looked exactly alike as the picture on the screen. Most recently, I had walked in the store after buying something from the CVS next door. I didn't find what I was looking for and the security ran after me when I was outside and asked to look through my bag. I told him no and told him that they always profile me. It would be one thing if he had asked before I entered the store but he waited til I left. He asked if I had a receipt from the CVS which I never ask for. After some back and forth I let him look and told him not to touch anything before he started aggressively rifling through my bag. He grabbed a package of chocolates that I bought and accused me of stealing them and kept looking back toward the store as if he were going to call a manager. I told him to put it back in my bag until he finally gave up. There are so many other instances and the only reason I go to Jon's is because I literally live across the street but as someone else stated, I'd rather go to any other store farther away. The only pleasant encounters I've had are from the girls at the bakery. read more

Dear manager of the Jons store on 3rd St. I have to complain, in the strongest possible terms, about the scandalous way your checkout operatives conduct themselves. Today, I had to endure a wait in line, whilst the checkout lady had the temerity to hold a warm conversation with a customer who was checking out, asking her questions and smiling at her recent trip to Boston with her child. This 3 minute conversation runs totally counter to the fearful and disconnected society our leaders are doing their darndest to create for us. In fact, I even found myself not minding the wait one little bit. Furthermore, my irritation at the long line tuned into an odd sensation of, dare I say it, 'connection' with my fellow human being -in a supermarket, of all places. Need I remind you that shopping in a supermarket should be a stressful and joyless experience? I certainly do NOT want to feel happier leaving the store than when I entered. We are new to this neighborhood and as someone who values staying local, I've done 99% of my grocery shopping at this Jon's. Whenever I tell my friends and family about the move, it always includes a rave review of how totally amazing this store is. I really love the selections of culture specific items that serve the local area. It feels like they cater to people who truly know how to cook and it is so appreciated. I also love the price point. My typical run for just a few things is between $16-$25. Comparably a similar run to Paviliions or Raplph's runs me somewhere between $30-$40. [please don't mistake this comparison to indicate that prices here are half what they are at the other stores, merely that they are very reasonable depending on what you are picking up, and given the out of control inflation, every bit helps!] Thanks for being such an awesome place to shop! read more

One of the most unique supermarkets. Has Armenian, Persian, and Mexican specialty foods together with American foods found at the usual supermarkets like Ralphs. I especially like the wine selection, which includes wine from Armenia and Georgia (beyond California, France, Italy, etc.) as well as the Lilit Bakery which has delicious, high quality sweets. I live in Las Vegas. I really wish we had a market like this here! This place is one of the coolest Markets I've been to. To call this place an International Market is unfair. This is a Global Market! They have local food and food, spices, and ingredients from all over the world. I had the pleasure of getting Kabob, from the Kabob Vendor. Delicious plate! I ordered the Koobideh/Ground Beef. The meat was seasoned perfectly. After eating most people's Koobideh, I get an onion acid reflux problem and have onion fumes coming out of my stomach. This did not happen with this Kabob! The grilled tomato was also perfect. I thought the Grilled Bell Pepper, was an added surprise! My only criticism would be on the rice... In my opinion, it was very dry! It needed some butter or oil. A few pieces of Tadik would have been very nice, as well. The Meat Department is AMAZING! They have a variety I've never seen in my life! By far my favorite grocery store in the area. The prices here are SO affordable for good quality items and the store is huge. My favorite sections are definitely the deli and the butcher. I'm so happy they carry my favorite deli brand, Dietz, and they have a bunch of international cold cuts and cheeses (both behind the glass case and out on the floor). The butcher has a variety of really well-priced meats which none of the other markets in the area can even compete with. Not to mention, there's a restaurant and bakery inside! I've always received friendly service, and though the parking lot can get crazy busy at times, there's usually always spots available since it's a large complex. The store has also done some revamping of its logo and inside/outside areas, which makes it feel a bit classier. Two areas they are a lacking in, however, is the fresh bread and fresh fruit. I wish there were more (/any) options like fresh cut fruit, fresh French bread, sandwich rolls, croissants, sourdough, whole wheat or squaw, etc. If they fix these 2 issues, they'd easily be a 5-star store! read more

This is actually for the Liliet Bakery in Jons Market on Sepulveda..I was there around 10:15am today April 6th and the customer service was HORRIBLE! Not only did I have to walk over to ask the female (who was just standing watching me) to help me, but after paying for three pastries, instead of putting the money in my hand (the same way I gave it her) she put all the loose change and dollars on the counter and turned to help the lady that had just walked up. I hate to say it but I definitely feel it was an issue of me being an African American because of how I saw her treat the white customer that came behind me. Bought tabuli for 6.22, got home and it was molded. The security guard made me uncomfortable as staring at my chest when I walked in. I wanted to go back during the day, but got to busy, I had to dump contents in the trash and took the container to the market. Spoke to the manager who was wouldn't give me another tabuli. Told him I am a loyal customer and I would appreciate if he let me have another one. He (said his name is el Pasido) said no. I told him I will yelp him and he just lost a customer over 7.00. I'm pretty sure this is an Armenian run brand which makes, as you walk in to the right towards the bakery, the presence of Empanadas surprisingly refreshing. Don't stop there. Continue your journey forward to one of the most diverse hot food offerings I've encountered. People literally come here for a hot lunch and they have tables to consume said fare. They also have a beer selection like none other as it features Eastern European, Slavic, Russian and Ukraine brews. You're not going to find that anywhere else. I used to live a half a mile away and one of my favorite memories was taking my bike and my daughter in the child seat there and letting her pick out any cookie she liked.
