The issue was straightforward and resolvable in a single day. After eleven days of vague and questionable excuses, I finally got my car back. I don't know if Tune Tech's policy is to "just get them in" and then manage as best they can, but it would explain the overpromising and underdelivering I experienced. I hope their scheduling and policies don't reflect their technical abilities. I hope they fixed my car correctly. I wish I didn't have that doubt. Time will tell. A few years ago, my 1993 Chevy 4x4 needed the transmission rebuilt. I thought I'll keep my business local, so I took it to a tranny shop in Airway Heights. Needless to say, I was out $5,000 dollars as reverse and overdrive did not work. I took it back to the shop, and the mechanic still couldn't fix it correctly. I was livid, so my truck sat for a few years. When my 2001 Chevy Suburban needed a rebuilt transmission a few years, I googled tranny shops to find the one with the most stars. Custom Transmission was the winner. I took my Suburban there and was greeted by one of the nicest ladies on the planet, "Cheryl." It didn't stop there, as Steve, her husband, was equally as kind. Steve's meticulous and honest work paid off as we've put 10,000 miles on the rebuilt transmission and it still runs like a new transmission. So, this summer when I needed to resurrect my '93 Chevy 4x4, I had Custom Transmission rebuild the tranny in my truck. Again, Steve did an amazing job. My truck runs the best it has run in years. If you need your transmission rebuilt correctly and for a fair price from a couple of the nicest, most honest people on the planet, Custom Transmission is the place.

In February 2025 I brought my 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500HD to Mechanics Pride South Hill because it…read morewas not running right. It had a rough idle, surging and was dying. They called me and told me that it had low compression on cylinder 1 and was going to need a new engine as well as many other repairs it needed. After quoting me a very high price, I declined and proceeded to pick up my truck later that day. When I went to pick up my truck, they again stated it would need a new engine, but when I asked what caused the low compression they stated that they did not know why. After taking matters into my own hands, I found amazing and consistent compression on all 8 cylinders of my engine and a faulty EGR valve that was causing all my problems. After replacing the EGR valve the truck ran flawlessly and hasn't had that problem since. I am so glad I didn't fall for a new engine! I would recommend staying away from Mechanics Pride as clearly they have no clue what they are doing. Thanks for nothing!
