Combined with the fluffy white rice cooked perfectly every single time, the whole meal just feels comforting in a way that's hard to describe. Funny enough, while I was literally drafting this review, Ken (Lisa's husband) walked out carrying a dish he had just cooked. He looked genuinely happy and excited to serve it, and you could immediately tell how much pride he takes in his food. He greeted the guests in front of me with a smile and that old-school respectful "sir" hospitality that honestly feels rare nowadays. It's refreshing to see genuinely good people who truly enjoy what they do and care about what they're offering others. Today I almost grabbed drive-thru instead because I left the house in pajamas, but not for one second did I feel out of place here. I felt comfortable, welcomed, and at home. It gave me the perfect space to quietly enjoy a meal alone without feeling awkward or out of place. Honestly, if you're new to dining alone, this would be such a good place to start. It wasn't very seasoned and I feel like the customer service wasn't the best; not terrible just not very welcoming. That could have been due to the fact that they were closing soon.
