These guys strung us along for over 3 months and then said they couldn't repair our cars. They took the $ from our insurance company without doing the work. They're supposed to refund it but the bottom line is this was my experience: -took my cars in and got an estimate because 2 cars were damaged -received a quote for insurance and processed a claim -roem said parts were ordered and they assured us we just had to wait -2 months went by with no word. I started following up weekly. They kept saying call us back for weeks. -3rd month they said maybe they couldn't do the work -4th month they said they decided they weren't going to do the work. 4 months of time, cars still aren't repaired, I had to Constantly follow up. When I would call they would often say the person I needed to speak with would call me back and they never would. They never responding to my emails. WARNING! NEW OWNERSHIP! Things have gone down the tubes! After waiting for over 2 months for the parts to arrive ROEM is under new ownership and said they might not want to fix my car and would let me know. Weeks went by without an answer and when I called to follow up after now being jacked around for 3 months Sean 'didn't like my attitude' so was going to cancel the whole thing. He said it didn't matter to him since he wasn't going to work there anymore and the place had gone downhill. So 3 months in and now I have to go somewhere else. Wish they told me this before they agreed to the job. Horrible experience! The new shop is doing it for less than half the price quoted and got us in after 2 weeks not 3 months. End-to-end, this was a very pleasant and ultimately satisfactory experience, as much as it can be when you have to spend about $3,000 to repair parking lot damage! Seeking estimates from shops in Santa Monica, I was impressed by these other reviews and called to see when would be convenient to come in for an estimate. One of the specific things I was looking for was a shop that painted my vehicle on-site instead of shipping it off to somewhere else in Los Angeles. I had been burned by another shop doing this to a similar vehicle, a late-model German sedan. When I saw the odometer had tons of additional miles on it and questioned the place, which was Malibu Motors, they denied driving my car anywhere, but the proof was right there in the numbers. They obviously took it joy-riding as well, and a complaint was filed with the state of California. I think this is a common practice that people should be aware of. But back to Roem. The owner, Sean was friendly and professional right from the beginning and showed me the paint bays, allaying those concerns. I chose his shop not only because of the fair estimate but because of the general positive and honest vibe that I got. Eddie was also great when I initially dropped off the vehicle. My car needed to be in for well over a week and another benefit was their relationship with a rental car agency in the area who brought the vehicle over to the shop. I was also able to return it there, creating a lot less wear and tear during these pandemic times. But back to the main objective. When I got my vehicle back (with one additional mile on the odometer) it was absolutely beautiful and I was extremely pleased with the quality of the repair work and with the entire experience. Absolutely the best paint and body work I have ever witnessed . Insurance wanted to total my car which was ridiculous for a low speed collision and would have put me out of a Tesla as production has stopped on their high end models. Roem saved the day and my wallet . The car looks nicer than the day Tesla delivered it . Great communication from the whole team there . Raul is courteous and respectful and thorough, he won't be happy until everything is perfect and to your satisfaction . If you saw the before and after photos you would be blown away . After such a big repair (Tesla's are pedestrian friendly so if you sneeze on the. They will crumple like a coke can ) I was surprised so little needed to be fixed on return visits. Juan is not only superior at his profession, but a fair and honest business man in a field of body shops that will just do a job and be done with you. Juan not only knows his craft, but his customer service and his skills and the way he fought for me and directed my insurance company on rules and regulations was heaven sent. He literally took care of me during the process. I've never had any issues with Ameriprise, but Juan made sure I was treated right and taken care of on my schedule and delivered my Lexus in the time promised and kept in touch with me during the whole process and always took my calls. My 2018 IS 300 Lexus is only 3 months old and was scraped by road debris and Juan and his team made it better than brand new. My spouse, who has what I call an eagle eye, found Juans work perfect. Car detailing is expensive. I was just looking for something simpler to detail the interior. They fit me in within the day, and arranged for only what I needed done (not a bloated pricey package with a focus on interiors). They not only did a fantastic job on the inside (vacuum, gathered small things I couldn't see under my seats, cleaned upholstery) but gave me a wash and took time to show what they'd done. The price is very reasonable and the timeliness perfect. They normally do detailing for dealerships (BMW, Lexus) so they've not yet had a big presence on social media but they do individual appointments and do great work.
