Long overdue, our roof had been in desperate need of replacing for several years. We were aware of several leaks that were getting worse with every rainfall. I set out on the daunting and stressful task of getting estimates for a full replacement and repair. I made a call to Roff Roofing to make an appointment for an estimate. The process was effortless. John Roff showed up at our scheduled appointment time and thoroughly explained the process pointing out our most troubling areas and what would need to be done. I honestly, could not picture our roof finally being in perfect condition after having suffered for so many years prior. John reassured us and took the time to answer every question and address any concern we had. We were impressed with his knowledge, kindness and ability to put us at ease with such an enormous job ahead. I did my due diligence and obtained 6 other estimates from local roofing companies with excellent recommendations. All were professional and friendly but at the end of the day it was Roff Roofing that made us feel the most comfortable. They were happy to work with our time schedule and when our date was set we felt a HUGE weight had been lifted off of our shoulders. I'm in awe of the "well oiled machine" that John and his son have created. I've never seen a crew work so hard and so in sync with one another. I literally cringed at the physical man power it took to remove the 2 corroded layers of old roof and all the damaged plywood. This team was absolutely amazing! Right before my eyes our once horrible roof had been transformed into this GORGEOUS brand new, solid, flawless roof! They did a beautiful job cleaning up the disaster our old roof had caused. We were expecting a deluge of rain the very next day and I had joked with John that I felt confident that I could finally remove the large bowl I've kept on our fireplace mantle to collect the leaking water after every rain. No leaks! I can't say enough about the integrity and quality of work that John Roff, his son and awesome crew performed. A few weeks back we discovered a small leak in our roof. We called a few companies to check it out. Kyle Roff of Roff Roofing came out the next day and gave us an honest consultation and estimate. We ended up needing a full roof replacement and thankfully so! When the repair began it was discovered that whoever put the roof on this house back in the mid 2000's did a very unsafe job!! The roof decking did not go rafter to rafter and was nailed to itself and not the rafters!! There were several other shortcuts noticed too, one big one was our bathroom fan vented into the attic! No outside venting at all. Kyle was very informative and let us know exactly what was needed to make all the repairs and what materials they would use to give us a great roof! They even included a bathroom vent in the roof for free!! While they were here John Roof took the time to see if our oven/range vented correctly and low and behold that too is not vented! That just vents into the soffit! John showed us what vent conversion kit to buy and has offered to put it in for us too (I haven't taken him up on that yet, but I will). Roff roofing is a family-owned local business and a true pleasure to work with. They are clean and fast too! This was all done in a day and other than the brand-new roof and vents you would never know there were here. They did an outstanding job. They offer financing too and that is a great bonus at 0%. I obtained four estimates for a roof issue i was having after my chimney was rebuilt. Two of the contractors were happy to install a new roof. One thoughtful company's rep pitched a tempting repair strategy, and then there was Roff. Roff Roofing stood out because they addressed my concerns about the double shingling situation we had. Olivia was great about including the addition of ridge vents in both tiers of our roof. None of the other three contractors even mentioned it. We are already seeing benefits in how the house breathes. Very valuable information and really worth it. After a heavy rain we had our roof leaking into our bathroom through the attic. Roff was able to fit us in the day after we signed the contract and their guys absolutely knocked it out of the park. Having contacted several contractors for quotes I am very pleased with my decision to use Roff for my roof replacement in December 2017. Could not be more pleased. Wanted Velux skylights to replace the cheap ones that were in the house when we bought it. Contacted Velux directly they recommended a contractor in the Denville/Rockaway area he did get back to me right away than blew off 2 appointments to look at the job remembered seeing Roff signs in the area and thought nice work. Called told them i wanted Velux skylights they said no problem, John the owner came out on the day he said he would emailed me an estimate I replied lets do it. John and his staff did a great job replacing our roof. No debris was left behind. In addition John has returned a couple of times due to leakage. It wasn't the roof but rather the gap in the seams of the clapboard. John and his son came back and caulked areas that had nothing to do with the work they completed. Roff Roofing are great! They came out (on time) just to do an inspection for a small ceiling leak. When they realized the problem was snow melt on the roof they came back the same day and removed the snow in about 1 hour. Very pleasant and knowledgeable.
