Consistently the best flowers I've found in the cities. The selection is good and the quality is excellent - flowers last for weeks, lilies especially - and the prices reflect it. They deliver, which is great, but if you do stop by the store, the staff is helpful and friendly. Just being in the store feels kind of decadent. They have a pretty good selection of plants as well. Whenever I want to send a floral arrangement that will wow its recipient, I call Roger Beck. I've been a patron of the shop for almost 10 years. The service is excellent and rock solid in terms of reliability for delivery orders placed by phone. Moreover, the artistic vision and creation of the shop is truly spectacular. I was thirlled to learn a while back that Beck can handle out-of-town deliveries, too. (I'm not sure how he does it, but somehow his artistic direction translates to small shops in other towns. Great price and excellent service for every day flowers. I'll admit I am hesitant using any service that includes a person's name because I think they will be expensive and pretentious. I don't know, I tend to think Ralph Lauren or Versace or something. But I was dead wrong about Roger Beck Florist. The service could not have been better. I needed the flowers sent out the same day and after working hours. I felt bad for wasting the lady I talked to on the phone's time with all my inane questions and unusual conditions for delivery. But she was pleasant, accommodating and extremely helpful. She really went the extra mile to help me out, and this is just a single flower order, not for a big event. She really cared that my flowers got sent out right. Definitely get 5 stars for service. As for the price, I just checked my credit card and was expecting, and would have been ok with, a large bill because of the quick order and delivery conditions, but as it turns out the entire order was cheaper than 1800flowers. I didn't see, but was told that the flowers were also awesome. Roger Beck will be my go-to florist in minneapolis. I went in to Roger Beck's about three weeks ago and ordered flowers to be delivered to my girlfriend's workplace. I'd never ordered flowers before. Based upon my description that my gal was a "mountain girl who collected things for magic jars", the florist took my order and promised delivery on Valentine's Day. He said he knew just what to do. Valentine's Day was yesterday. The arrangement was delivered on time and in perfect order. Let me say, my gal was RED FACED IMPRESSED. I needed flowers for a friend's retirement from the University. I live in Sacramento and was out of phone and Internet range the day of the party. Initially, I was very excited to order from Roger Beck as I was calling from out of town and I needed a rush order since the order I placed originally with an online florist company was canceled at the last minute. After reading all of the positive reviews on Yelp I figured my order wouldn't be an issue. The call I had over the phone was pleasant and the gentleman who assisted me seemed to be paying attention to my request. I requested the floral arrangement be similar to what I originally ordered online, which was a spray funeral arrangement, but since it wasn't going to be delivered I requested that the flowers be placed in a vase, and I explained that I wanted to stay within the same budget as the original online order as well. The gentleman appeared to have an understanding of what I wanted, however, when I received a photo from a family member who attended the burial service of what was delivered, it was completely different. Not to mention the arrangement didn't even look like it should have cost as much as my budget would have allowed. It looked inexpensive and not made for a funeral at all. The arrangement I wanted was very specific in colors and the gentleman even googled the picture to see how they could make it similar. Sadly, it wasn't even close to the picture on Google, and to make matters worse the original price of the arrangement I wanted was cheaper and included delivery service and tax. The order I placed from this shop only included tax. I had informed the gentleman that my sister would pick it up since it was so last minute they wouldn't be able to deliver anyway. While I appreciate that they were willing to fill my order in such short notice, I would have preferred that they be honest and tell me that they would not have time to imitate my original online order as it generally requires more time and effort. Instead, they led me to believe they could fulfill my request to my satisfaction and it could not have been further from the truth. When I called to inform them of my dissatisfaction, I was given a bunch of excuses. I end up offering to e-mail both pictures so that the manager can see that I did not receive what I requested. Turns out the gentleman who assisted me initially was also the manager because he was the one I spoke to the second time that only gave excuses. Only after he received my e-mail with proof of the photos did he apologize for my dissatisfaction. He agreed to give me a 10% discount (if it was okay with me), which essentially only saved me $10 and change. I explained it was fine and better than nothing only because upon my first conversation with him it seemed as though he wasn't amenable to doing anything at all to resolve my complaint. By the end, I just accepted the discount because I didn't have the energy or patience to go back and forth with the manager any longer, and I didn't feel as if my business was valued, therefore, I figured it'd be best to let other consumers know by writing an honest review. Again, while I appreciate them fulfilling a rush order for me from out of state, I would have preferred transparency from the beginning as well as better customer service when I called to inform them of my dissatisfaction, especially since the purchase was not inexpensive, but nonetheless I won't ever use their services again nor would I recommend their business to anyone else, whether they're in or out of state. read more

I'm from out of town and used this florist to deliver flowers to a sick friend. Based on the review on Yelp I thought this was a good choice. He didn't listen to me ask for YELLOW AND WHITE flowers (there were no yellow flowers in the bouquet) I asked for no white lilies or carnations (there were white lilies) and he did not seem to care to get the message right.
