If I could give 0 stars I would…read more At 16 years old I needed glasses , I thought I would go to tagneys ( in September 2020) because of their low eye test rate , was pestered about what lens I wanted before the test was concluded, I needed the glasses irregardless of the price anyways because of school and needing to be able to see the board. At the time there was only designer frames being presented and I asked for any cheaper glasses but was told there wasn't any cheaper glasses , got €270 Calvin Klein ones ( no medical card )on second thought because of the price , but due to necessity I bought them. The second Covid lockdown soon came into action and by this time the lens on the glasses were somehow deteriorated , never used any sort of alien cleaning method as they later alleged , or never maltreated them, especially because of the price , and I couldn't find time to come into the store to address the issue because I live quite some time away from town. Today 21/06/22 I found time to go down there after making an appointment for 11am but I was told that they attempted to call me to switch my appointment for 10am, which I didn't receive any missed calls , yet they assumed I would've automatically knew this changing of appointment. I got there and was told to sit , was waiting for at least 30 minutes before they spoke with their 'manager' and apparently she repeated the same thing about a damaged lens cover or such. There were two staff addressing me , one directly and one at the reception desk inputting her two cents unnecessarily, so after a couple minutes of back and forth and the woman at the desk rudely interrupting me , explaining why I didn't come in , I explained that I didn't like the way I was addressed and she came over and started raising her voice at me sarcastically and condescendingly insulting me. After me expressing my frustration with the way she addressed me, she said I was the one to raise my voice at her and that's the reason why she shouted back at me. From the moment I entered to the moment I impulsively left, her attitude was seriously disgusting compared to her co-workers who tried to reason with me. I do not advise anybody to fall into the temptation of €5 and a longevity of frustration

For €10, I got a comprehensive eye exam and written prescription. I mean a *way* more comprehensive…read moreexam than I've routinely gotten in Canada or the US... and for a much higher price. I called the day before and made an appointment, and was taken to the upstairs eye clinic area and seen quite quickly when I arrived, only about 10 minutes' wait. The staff and technicians were all friendly and knowledgeable and efficient. I wasn't in town long enough to take advantage of the amazing deals they had on glasses and contacts, but would have done so if I'd had a few more days. They had an impressive array of frames in every price range, and I saw several I wanted. When I go back, I'll hit SpecSavers at the beginning of my trip, instead of at the end!

She managed to find a spare pair of glasses in the back room and I was able to get my old frames put into a new pair. Trina, the manager, was so kind and understanding, too. Both were so kind and helpful, I just can't say enough nice things about their work. A great place to get glasses, and a great place for getting help fixing them.

This is more commonly known as Fines Opticians. The first time I came in here to get tested for…read morenew glasses a few years ago, the receptionist(s) at reception was not very friendly. I've been in there a few more times, including today, not to get tested but to ask about other services or to try and get my glasses fixed and it's less friendly every time. Now, I don't like the current aspect of the service industry where everyone creepily acts like you're their friend (first names on your cup at Starbucks and so on), but these people are the opposite extreme and are just snooty and unhelpful and act like you're bothering them. I know being a receptionist is not the most exciting job in the world, no offence to receptionists everywhere, but you don't have to let everyone know you hate your job. Or if not everyone then certain people who you choose to act snooty towards. The optician himself, however, who seems to work alone, with no other optician there, was grand that one time I had my eyes tested. His professionalism and willingness to take his time with customers, unlike other places where you're waiting forever to be rushed in and out like you're part of a conveyer belt, such as at a certain place on Cruises street (where people still mostly manage to be helpful in some way I must add), means I'll give the place more than 1 star. 3 stars are too many as it's definitely NOT a-ok to be treated rudely. He is burrowed away downstairs though,and cannot see what his staff are like upstairs. I'll adapt Specsavers' slogan here for my experience with Fine's and say 'Shouldn't have gone to Fines'. I will definitely be going elsewhere next time I need my eyes tested.
