When you identify a problem...like having kids go inside their underwear waist...searching kids..no safety in this.. females doing searches on males..with no male present.. teachers having melt downs in their classrooms taking it out on children thru retaliation in grades, emails which are toxic coming from educators...The unfortunate thing is this school operates in dysfunction total chaos. Unable to articulate their own handbook..everything that looks gold ain't gold. A hall aide told me to shush when I was going to speak up about their outrageous unclear rules and directions. I paused and said to myself be quiet in astonishment...absolutely Not! I will call out every wrong intent or action. Nevertheless the uniform is the only nice thing. Its can be expensive for some. It doesn't actually match the school academics/substance. Parents save yourself the hassle and kids find a school that practice what they preach. Which have qualified teachers and administrators. Anyone can open a school...and not be an educator. I disapprove of this charter school 100%

This school seems very advanced and up to date with their teachings and their technology. Since attending this school, I've noticed my child is a bit more advanced on the academic side compared to her other peers that go to regular in person public schools. Nothing against public schools, this school just works out for us as a family. This school uses real life scenarios in their quarterly projects. For example, they need to research about their dream vacation and how much it cost in real time and create a budget, etc. Surprisingly, as parents, after realizing her dream vacation was definitely more doable budget wise, we were able to actually take her on that dream vacation in less than a year's time. It not only teaches the students, but every assignment and project teaches us as parents as well. We highly recommend this charter school.

From my first contact with the staff and administration, you could tell this place was about providing a nurturing and excellent environment to the children. This school really does foster diversity. It's not just words that are used in advertisement. They foster those values in the classroom and everyone is made to feel included in all they do. In short, they practice what they preach. The academics are excellent. I'm a believer in giving children a balanced learning environment. Hundreds of hours of homework does not make a child enjoy learning. I like that there is work time and play time appropriate for the age. And honestly, at these grade levels, too much homework equates to extra work for the parents. This school chooses an appropriate amount of work for each grade level. My son has thrived since moving to this school. FLA has been a true blessing to our family. I'm so happy we found this school and I'm forever grateful to all the teachers and administrative staff. My son once again has a love for school.

We are happy with the school and staff. Coming from the over-crowded, over-stretched public school system, we are relieved to see our children accepted and not just doing well, but thriving. The upper campus kids especially love the block scheduling, as they are able to truly get some valuable class time in each subject. The homework is a perfect blend of rehashing the days learning and getting prepared for the exams. The teachers actually get to know the kids since class size is never a problem. My 4th grader loves his teacher, and with that comes respect and a desire to be the best student he can become. And being a Christian school, the true focus is on a rounded and grounded Cristian education. As with all schools, there are mistakes that have been made, and there are the occasional small problem. But the difference is that the staff and leadership truly will try to correct them. A parent is always welcome to speak with any of the staff, and the superintendent holds monthly meetings where anyone can come and voice concern or praise. What more could a parent want?

Horrible education and best of all they got rid of the high school because everyone was leaving. DO NOT come here it is a waste of your money go to faith and spend the extra 7k trust me. I got a better education on an online school that TOOK LITERALLY 40 minutes to finish each day. This school is a joke; the kids are even worse. Behavior issues, flat out bullying and smoking in the restrooms. Not going to lie Mrs. Orrico also carried the school. Nicest Librarian ever but she deserves a pay raise. PLEASE do not send your kids here if you want them to have a good middle school experience.

Dirt parking was full. There was a food truck outside. House gear was for sale in the cafeteria. Since our stringbean is an 8th grader, we went to one Hall, after we went to the Cafeteria room, to get his schedule. We ran into one of his friends too. We tried going to the "Register Athlete" line but it was really long, just to verify that he was indeed registered; we took care of it on the last week of last school year. We tried finding his Counselor, but learned that he was assisting in another section. But we ran into Mr. Frieberg, who said he could help us with his Elective switch. THANK YOU to Mr. Frieberg. We truly appreciate you! We heard from him that same afternoon and saw the new schedule. There was a Free Flag Football Camp this past Summer, so our son was involved with that, all summer. One session was cancelled due to the "high heat" warning. This part seemed to be well-organized this time. We received the game schedule too.

In all of those years, I have never felt strongly enough about a school decision to leave a negative review. Unfortunately, only three weeks into this school year, I am extremely disappointed and concerned by some of the changes being made. Over summer break, the school replaced the carpet, and we have now been told that students in grades 1-8 can no longer have snack time. I genuinely do not understand how removing an opportunity for children to have a small snack during a long school day is in their best interest. Adults working an eight-hour shift are given breaks and a lunch period because we understand that people need time to eat, reset, and refocus. Why would we expect children to function differently? Hungry students are not going to be more focused or productive in the classroom. What makes this even more frustrating is that the new carpet policy appears to affect more than snack time. Classroom birthday and holiday celebrations are also being taken away or significantly limited. Lunch has been suggested as an alternative for birthday celebrations, but students already have a very short lunch period. That is hardly enough time to eat their meal, let alone pass out treats or goody bags, sing Happy Birthday, or participate in a small classroom activity. Not every family wants to simply send a goody bag home. Part of what makes elementary school special is being able to celebrate those little moments with classmates. I understand wanting to protect an investment in new carpet, but when protecting flooring begins taking priority over experiences and routines that benefit students, I think it is reasonable for parents to question whether the right decision was made. Flooring should serve the school not dictate the student experience. This is particularly disappointing because I truly love the staff at this school. I love this school enough that I am involved with the PTSO and willingly give a good amount of my free time volunteering, not only for my own children's classrooms, but for the school and its students as a whole. I would not invest that time if I did not genuinely care about this community. I have also noticed a difference in the overall atmosphere this year. Staff members seem more rushed and overwhelmed, and some of the warmth and happiness that has always made this school feel special seems to be missing. I obviously cannot speak for individual staff members or say exactly what is causing that change, but as a longtime member of this school community, the difference has been noticeable and honestly very sad to see. Meanwhile, there are areas where changes would be incredibly valuable particularly the car loop, drop-off, and pickup process. I wish the same level of attention being given to restricting snacks and classroom celebrations were being directed toward issues that have a much greater impact on families every single day. For years, I have happily supported and voted for this school as one of the best. This will be the first year that I cannot do that without hesitation. I sincerely hope the administration listens to parent feedback and reconsiders some of these decisions. I am writing this because I care about this school, its staff, and its students. After being part of this community for more than a decade, it is incredibly disappointing that this is the first time I have felt compelled to publicly express this level of concern. I truly hope this school year moves in a more positive direction and that decisions going forward prioritize what is best for the students and the people who make this school what it is.

Second off, this school is blaming phones for a education issue while in reality is because of the teachers and school. I know numerous teachers who have fat-shamed, body-shamed,said hurtful things, and used trauma against students. If you actually want your students to have a good education actually get teachers who actually care and aren't terrible people. And the teachers blatantly show favoritism and don't even hide it. In addition to education, there way of teaching is fine but not good at all for students with adhd or other mental disorders. Not to mention their choice of where funds are allocated to, they spend all these funds just for yondr pouches while Velcro pouches would be way more cost-efficient and make school feel safer for kids who worry about not being able to contact parents during an emergency like a school shooting. Although Velcro pouches are easily accessible, they make sound so you can tell if a student opened one. It's overall the way better choice for students and for saving funds. If you look at Doral cactuses computers, they are all LED new computers unlike our computer sciences, computers, which only have intel i5 chips with old tech which has less storage and ram than my laptop. And I can confirm these computers have been here for years. Not to mention the abuse of power in the administration. Last year, an admin took a SIM card from a student's phone and looked through their messages to find something. ( very illegal) . Also this school absolutely is unfair. Students get in trouble for no reason and the environment feels strict and unsafe because of the teacher and the school and admin the only reason people stay is because the students and good. The school is not as restorative as they say they are. They absolutely hold your past mistakes against you and they accuse students a lot without letting students explain themselves. Going back to the funding, their school lunches are absolutely terrible, not to mention they don't even give you a free lunch if you can't afford to pay. And they used their funding to rent a whole golf course for their staff or teachers, but for students they can't get a decent lunch. All the food is stale or so soggy. And it cost $4.50. And back to the SIM card part, the person (dr.craig doster) was on academic probation after making four out of five principles quit. The people they choose to employ are no good at all. This year he went to a different Doral school. Please don't go here and Doral saddle please improve.
