My daughter, being immersed IN the light show.

Love this school! This is my daughter's second year. Everyone else is correct - pick up/drop off is rough because of the location. Pro Tip: get there on time, not early. You will spend much less time waiting, because things are already moving when you arrive. This school is highly ranked, and my daughter's homework has been manageable and consistent. The extra curriculars are different than CCSD's - at first I was concerned they don't have library once a week. That went away when one week she was telling me about them working on Hamlet, another week on Midsummer Nights Dream. She's in 4th grade. These photos are from her field trip last week to the Illuminarium. Last year they saw a musical at the Smith Center. It's an arts focus school, which means they use different art mediums in the teaching methods - so these field trips are on point. The kids outside are not rough housing at pick up like my nephew's nearby school - Doral Saddle's vibe is overall a calm environment. Good luck in your search!

Pulled my son out of this preschool and I would NOT recommend it…read more First off, the attitude from the front desk and director changed immediately after I enrolled. It felt unwelcoming and unprofessional from the start, but I tried to give it a chance. What I can't ignore is how they handled incidents with my child. I was asked to sign an incident report about my son hitting his lip a WEEK after it supposedly happened. Then this past Monday, another child BIT my son hard enough to leave a mark on his shoulder--and I wasn't told until Wednesday. No call the day it happened, no heads up--just delayed paperwork like it's no big deal. That is NOT okay. If something happens to my child, I expect to be told immediately. The fact that they didn't communicate that in real time is a huge red flag. Then they want to be strict about their policies when it benefits them. They called me to pick my son up at 9:30am saying he threw up, but gave me ZERO clear instructions about a 24-hour policy. The very next morning (Friday), I bring him in completely fine, he had absolutely no symptoms and had not thrown up at all since I picked him up the previous morning, and suddenly I'm being turned away at the door with attitude about "24 hours symptom free." Don't pick and choose when to follow policy. On top of that, my son has barely even been able to attend because he's been sick constantly since starting--including the flu and hand, foot, and mouth--and they still expect full payment AND a two-week notice after everything that's happened. Absolutely not. The lack of communication, delayed incident reporting, and rude front office staff made this an easy decision for me. Do better. Side note: the actual teachers in the classrooms have been great. This review is strictly about management and front desk staff, because that's where the issues are.

The school has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and the staff is consistently professional, reliable, and genuinely caring. Most importantly, our daughter truly loves going to school every day. She's learning so much while having fun, and seeing her excited to go each morning gives us a lot of confidence in the quality of care and education she's receiving. That alone makes this an easy 5-star experience. Tuition is slightly higher than some of the other options we considered, but we don't mind paying a premium for higher quality. They also offer an outstanding veterans benefit: 10% off tuition, plus complimentary early drop-off and late pickup between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. That flexibility is incredibly valuable for working parents and adds even more value. We're very happy with our decision and would highly recommend The Learning Experience on Fort Apache to any family looking for a caring, high-quality preschool.

Terrible experience leaving the school…read more My two boys were selected for the their scholarship program, which provided 3 months of lower tuition. After some consideration, we ultimately decided to part ways after the scholarship concluded. Everything seemed fine until it came time to collect my children's belongings. Prior to starting school, the administration asks for 5-7 full outfit sets per child, depending on the class and if your child is undergoing potty training, in addition to other items like blankets, towels, etc The first bag of belongings the school gathered for me only contained blankets. Keep in mind, I had two kids attend this school. I wasn't given any heads-up about the lack of clothing and failed to check the bag until I got home as I genuinely trusted the staff to do their due diligence and collect everything. So I called to inquire about the other clothing and it took about 3-4 follow-ups until I was finally told to come pick up the clothing. However, this second bag did not include a single t-shirt or pair of socks. I was told they would search for those items and that I would get an update the following week, but never received a call. When I would call, the faculty would pass me off to each other, each assuring me they were working on finding the remaining clothes and apologizing for not getting back to me. It was obvious they wanted me to just forget about it. They mentioned searching through the laundry room, multiple classrooms, and other rooms. How all those t shirts and socks just disappear is beyond me. Not to mention, my son's favorite Bluey towel and a very nice North Face jacket. After waiting another week, I emailed the director, Lily Hernandez, to express my frustration over the situation. She's always been quick to email back so I was sure she'd offer a resolution. Wrong! She completely ignored me - not a peep. I waited and sent another email but still received nothing. I called and asked for her a few times but was always told she wasn't there. That being said, I've never experienced this level of unprofessionalism, particularly from the director of an educational institution. It was clear she couldn't care less about losing my kids' clothing now that I'm not paying the school. I'm still shocked by the lack of accountability, and this unfortunately highlights the sad state of today's educational climate, where any random, unqualified person can apparently wiggle their way up the administrative ladder without any genuine values or integrity, and end up running a school. Even if it's just a pre-school, we deserve better.

We can't say enough good things about the staff and communication. As a new mom, I was nervous to send my then-18mo old into a daycare but the teachers alleviated my concerns. I still remember the first day when we dropped him off, I received a video of him *not crying* and singing with his new classmates, within 15 minutes. The teachers work hard to take care of the children and I can feel the love they pour into each student. The staff are extremely patient. We have a picky eater and Ms. Chrissy and the teachers worked to get him to eat and really encouraged him to try new things. The teachers make every effort to get kids to engage and get along. They address all my concerns and work diligently to prepare my pre-k student for kindergarten. I love to see his writing progress and his vocabulary explode! We love all the updates and newsletters. We especially love the pictures and videos the teachers send. I love the app we use to communicate and receive updates for the kids throughout the day. While this location is small, I also think it adds to the family feel and all the teachers know the children/parents. I feel safe sending my kids to this school and do not hesitate to recommend them to future families.
