This review is based on value. Came in for a replacement bulb. Usually I would just order from Amazon. Came in and found the bulbs. $6.99 each. Found them on Amazon for $8 for 12 bulbs! Do yourself a favor and always price items out elsewhere. This place is a rip off! read more

I called about 10 minutes before 5p on a Saturday afternoon looking for C9 LED lights left. After +/- 10 rings, an apparent male answered the phone with obvious verbal disgust. I asked if there any C9 lights in stock. After an awkward 4-5 second pause, he replied "Yeah.. but are about to close." I never implied I was going to come today, or at all. Appeared this employee doesn't care about attracting business. If he has the chance to read this review, my suggestion would be, "Yes sir we do. Just a reminder we will close soon but open back up tomorrow at 11a if you can't make it today." But, I went to Lowe's instead. read more

Never coming back the this place. Rude customer service. They make their own rules about coupons depending on how you look. The guy at the register was nice but the guy next to him told him to decline our coupon on a regular priced item. I will be going to Ewing for any future purchases. read more

Just moved to town and was excited to see an Ace Hardware. I wanted to show some love and support a local owned and operated business and avoid the Lowe's if I could. I walked in and got a handful of stuff when a worker told me I had to have a mask. I don't wear masks period. I said sorry about that. He said there is no sorry you either have a mask or you leave. So I dropped my stuff and spent $250 at Lowe's. No mask. It's unfortunate he chose to be so rude. I choose to never darken the door here again. They didn't have the trash cans I needed anyway. read more

These guys are great! This store is about personal service. Their inventory is not as large as a Home Depot but they offer great service. During the CoVid19 "scare" they do require that all customers wear a mask into their store. Not a problem! Small town hardware store with small town service! 4/5 read more

I drive across town arriving 30 minutes before they closed. The had their sign turned over saying they were CLOSED. I called and their phone rang endlessly. Was not able to leave a message. Some of us don't have gas to burn. Please have some courtesy and respect to update your store hours online so customers don't waste time and gas driving to your store. Also get an answering machine so it'll least show you care about our calls. read more

I have been to this Ace several times over the years as my parents live in Rockwall. Always found the staff friendly and helpful. But now that my Dad is having some mobility issues, I'm doing some work around his home. We make more trips to the store when I visit. This weekend made a run by to pick up a few items and once they figured out who was my father was, the gentleman who was helping me went out to the car to say hi and talk to him for a few minutes. This made my Dad's day! This Ace has always had Great customer service, but this was above and beyond especially when there seems to be a lack of customer service in our world today. We will continue to shop here, highly recommended ... For help, knowledge and most of all customer service from a friendly staff!!!! read more

I will never spend a dime here!! I'm military and new to town and went in for some trailer parts. Ask one guy where the trailer parts were and he was snobby rude and told me "that's just a bolt" which I was holding. He continued to be rude by blunting our over the radio that "some guy needs help with bolts" as he walked away. So much for buying local! I recommend Royce City Hardware or Greenville Bearing Supply! They actually have good people running their stores. read more

I gave known the Rogers for over thirty years. The thing that truly brings me back time after time to their store is the fact that I know they will get me the correct product for the job I have. Today I needed LED tubes for a kit hen fixture. I picked up the wrong ones but before I could check out they got me the correct ones for my application. I needed eight small screws for a machine part. They found the exact fit without me having to buy a whole package. I trust these folks to be there when I need help and they come through time after time. Thank you to Mike and the crew. read more

Thank you Ace for being my "go to" hardware store. My husband has been using their services for 35+ years. As rockwall has grown and changed he continues to return to Ace. If you need something specific they will take you straight to it. If they don't have the exact part/piece your looking for they will always have suggestions...even if it's not in their store. This is not a "box" store. It's compact enough that you will see many of their employees during your visit...they are there to help...and they do. I love that they ask about serving me when I walk in and while I'm walking the isles. Keep up the great job of serving Rockwall and NOT trying to imitate the impersonal box stores in town. read more

I don't shop here that often but on this occassion, I got an advertisement offering their rewards members a special buy one, get one offer on lawn products. By the time I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, wouldn't you know - they were all sold out! So they said they would order it for me but I would have to pay for it first - (kind of a weird rain check policy), and they'd call me when it came in. They called about a week later but I was never able to get by there before their store closed at 6:00 so when I eventually was able to make it before they closed, I just asked for a refund. Even though the produts were now in stock, I had lost my desire for lawn beautification projects that strike around spring time. Lesson learned: get there on the first day of the sale the next time they're offering a hot deal. read more

Found a sign I needed after searching at lowes and Home depot, I like the small town feel, great parking and locally owned. I do not advise buying wood as much of it sets outside therefore possibly kinda warped. I also advise knowing what you need in the chemical dept. as sometimes you get accurate info and sometimes not. All in All it pays to support small business and become a valued customer-they begin to know you by name, a lost compliment at these larger stores. read more

Have driven by this store countless times and have never gone in, though we've always wanted to. Yesterday we had some extra time and decided to stop in, not looking for anything in particular, though we did end up buying a couple of things. For the good, the store itself was not a disappointment, though small it carries a wide selection of items, and some I noticed aren't something you'd normally see at Lowes or Home Depot. Now for the bad, When we walked in we were greeted with a "can I help you find something?" I replied no, we're just looking. We stayed in the store for 10 to 15 minutes and during that time we were asked 7+ times "can I help you find something?". Now some might say this is great customer service, but to me after the first few times it's just plain annoying, and as our visit wore on, it became more sinister. By the time we were halfway through our visit it had gotten to where as we went down each aisle an employee would be standing at the other end, sometimes asking if we needed help, sometimes just watching. As we moved to the next aisle so would the employee standing at the end watching. After being made to feel uncomfortable with all this attention and without finishing looking around we checked out and left. When we got outside the store me and my wife looked at each other and simultaneously asked, "where we being watched?" Talk about being made to feel unwelcome and unwanted, if this is their goal then this store has nailed it. Even when the employees asked if we needed help, or at checkout they weren't friendly and I never saw one of them smile. My daughter said it best, "Cool store, but they were creepy". Great number of items and well laid out. Truly incredible selection of fasteners - that are checked and restocked regularly. Many more line items and low-volume sellers than H*** D***** or L***s. Well worth paying the little extra to save ordering online or getting a headache trying to find something that no longer exists at the local big box store. I have made this my first point of call before the other big box stores nearby. Keep you money local. Yes the staff do ask if you need help but will cease to do so once you say you're OK or just browsing. I was very impressed. read more
