Regardless of need, every resident is put in a diaper, as staff can take up to an hour to respond to call lights--even for basic restroom assistance. By the end of the hallway on the second floor, there was a strong odor of urine. Despite being fully mobile and independent before arriving, my uncle was often put back in bed after lunch instead of being encouraged to walk, simply due to a lack of available staff. The staff also shamed him into submission of never leaving the wheelchair even when he wanted to walk with a walker or visit another area. When we raised concerns about Nurse Sarah on the second floor, the administrator refused to take my call. If you're considering this facility for a loved one, think twice. The lack of staffing and poor care standards make it a place to avoid.

Sometimes I was pushed to another therapist at the end or midway through my appointment. The therapist must have a lot of data entry to do, as mine (and others) were constantly taking every available minute during my appointment on their laptops to enter data instead of watching or correcting what I or others were doing. The last straw was my therapist disappearing halfway through my appointment to work with someone else in another room. I was passed off to someone who never introduced themselves and I had never met. The substitute didn't have a modification to give me when I asked for one, told me to do my exercises differently than my original therapist. Too, too busy to give really personalized attention throughout the appointment. Each therapist handling multiple patients at the same time.

Days from my 7th wedding anniversary my wife and I were not communicating much, actually…read moredisagreeing on everything, and she stated that we should separate. She does not believe in marriage counseling but I convinced her to at least go to one session and then hopefully to more and more. I found Skylight counseling on google and they had a location in Skokie which was near my home. On Oct 9th I filled out their online form explaining my situation and the urgency. On Oct 11 I was called back by Dr Close and I explained that with my work schedule that Thursday afternoon or evenings and Fridays are the best options for us. Dr Close did not have afternoon and evening sessions but said she would refer me to a colleague. Things at home where getting worse so on Oct 14th at 1pm I left a voicemail for Dr Close asking about the referral. She did call back later that evening saying that one of her colleagues would be following up with me directly. Today is Oct 20th and nothing yet. Thanks everyone for putting the last nail in the coffin. It was hard to convince my wife to even try counseling and now she thinks I didn't care enough to schedule a session. Good thing I don't have depression; their actions or lack of just cost me my marriage and not my life.

I originally sought help for ADHD symptoms…read morethat I've experienced since childhood, but instead of truly listening, he dismissed my concerns and disagreed with my self-assessment. Our meetings were short (15-20 minutes at most) and felt more like a way to bill me rather than provide real support. When the medication he prescribed wasn't working for me, I stopped taking it - but instead of discussing alternative solutions, he threatened to drop me as a client for not informing him first. Rather than working with me to find the right treatment, he made me feel unheard and unsupported. Thankfully, I've since found a real ADHD specialist who actually listens and provides meaningful help--no gimmicks, no pointless conversations, and no pressure. If you're looking for real ADHD care, I strongly recommend going elsewhere. ---- Sent me a bill for 100$ fee after 4 months of no services... with no description of the fee. Sent me ANOTHER bill for 75$ after 5 months of no services... with no description of the fee. Front desk never answer the phone. BE AWARE OF THEIR BILLING PROCESS AND ASK FOR IDOMIZED STATEMENT. ---

I had an initial point with Dr. Amera Rahman for…read moremedication management after being diagnosed with inattentive presenting ADHD by my normal therapist. The first appointment was canceled the day before. Things happen so I rescheduled for another day. During the initial appointment Dr. Rahman was dismissive when I addressed my concerns regarding ADHD treatment and options. She questioned the competence on my therapist and insisted that I was depressed even though I explicitly expressed that I was not. I had no feelings of depression or anxiety. She offered Wellbutrin and I declined. After a long drive to the Evanston Clarity Clinic location for a face to face appointment she reluctantly prescribed me 10mg of Vyvanse. After a week on the medication and doubling the dosage after a few days as she instructed, I had a follow up appointment were I explained how I hadn't noticed any change or experienced any of the previously mentioned side effects. At this time she responded "well maybe you don't have ADHD", and insisted again that I was suffering from depression or anxiety. She did not listen to me at all and showed a lack of consideration for what I was experiencing. I felt like this was a form of discrimination. I decided to see another psychiatric provider who gave me a formal evaluation that confirmed my original diagnosis. I have noticed a significant positive change since receiving proper medication management. It is unfortunate that Dr. Rahman made a diagnosis based on her personal biases without evaluating me herself or even adjusting medication.

I was unfortunate enough to be hit by a car while bicycling. After surgery I went to Wesley Place…read morefor rehab and stayed two weeks. I regret stepping foot in this place. Every nurse and CNA was friendly and more than competent, however medications were often given late and most of the time it took more than 20 minutes for somebody to answer the call button. This was not due to laziness of the staff, but due to intentional understaffing. I was at Wesley to receive physical therapy. I had a horrible therapist who threatened not to give me therapy. I left messages three days in a row to the head of therapy and now, three weeks later I have yet to receive a call back. I also called the administrator three days in a row and then once 7 days later, and am still waiting for a return call. If the head of the main department for skilled nursing cannot take the time to call a patient in the facility, and the administrator cannot either, nobody should ever stay in this place. Let me conclude on a positive note. My problems were resolved by the social worker, Sarah, who took her job to heart and treated everybody lovingly and with great care and attention to detail. She deserves to work at a place that appreciates her and its patients, so if anybody needs an amazing social work, call Sarah. You won't do much better.

She recommended that he come for group counseling but that he said he did not want to come. Looking right at me she said she's never had anyone before say they wouldn't come and that she didn't know how to respond to that. I'll tell you how you respond, you tell them it's an option now but it won't be for long and that it's better to make the decision to get help for yourself than for it to be mandated or much worse! All these abbreviations, MSW, LCSW, CADC, after her name and she hadn't a clue how to convince a kid into getting help!
