Beware of Rogue Credit Union's Auto Loan Practices - Payment Blocked, Car Wrongfully Repossessed I normally don't leave reviews, but my recent experience with Rogue Credit Union deserves to be shared so others can protect themselves. I financed a 2025 Lexus GX 550 through Rogue Credit Union (NMLS #776623). In July 2025, without warning, my online and phone payment access was blocked. I was told by a representative that my account was in "repossession status" -- even though I was ready, willing, and able to make my payment. Instead of working with me, Rogue CU accepted a statement from a so-called "local business owner" claiming my vehicle was abandoned. This individual was not a government official, and there was no inspection or verification by any public authority. According to 911 records, the Miami Police Department, and the repossession company (Takeover Towing & Recovery), the car was taken solely for alleged non-payment -- not for abandonment, lack of maintenance, or relocation as I was told by Rogue CU. To make matters worse, I received a demand email for the full loan balance the day before the repossession. This left me no realistic chance to resolve the matter before losing my vehicle. Rogue CU then reported me as delinquent to the credit bureaus -- despite blocking my payment access. This ordeal has cost me thousands in rentals, hotels, and transportation, and caused serious credit damage. I have filed complaints with the CFPB, FTC, and other regulators. If you are considering financing with Rogue Credit Union, please research their practices carefully and keep thorough records of every payment, call, and email. Based on my experience, payment blocking and inconsistent repossession explanations are real risks here. read more

Well don't make a purchase on your visa card Rogue will not dispute even if product brand new washer was used 6 times max from Jan 22 2026 through Feb 10 2026 and quit working with a 7 year protection plan and you spent 4 hours on the phone with Lowe's and protection plan with no results Rogue no help either with stopping payment. hold my Social Security check for several days before crediting my account- I can see it sitting there online but they dont give me access to it for days! Ya think the federal government is not going to honor the check? transfer of funds to another institution ( a California account of mine ) also takes days. In 2026 that should be virtually instantaneous. That other institution is very quick, overnight. and so far they haven't charged me to transfer my own money but there's a charge fee on their website to charge for a transfer WTF? Its my money! I have been banking for over 30 years with RCU, formerly RFCU and ever since they dropped the Federal affiliation, their over all company culture has declined. They need more tellers available in person, there's always a line. They seem to have a lot of fraud alerts, down ATMs and system issues. It doesn't make me feel confident that my money is in good hands read more

They don't follow a consistent policy. Sometimes they cash my check with no ID. Sometimes they ask for ID. Sometimes they want my SSN. One person let me cash a check with a recently expired ID. The very next visit they would not and said it was their policy. Their "policy" is whatever your teller feels like telling you online any given day read more

I would never recommend this credit union to anyone. There online bill pay is horribly designed, the pay by phone takes forever, and their customer service representative are not trained properly. I also moved moved states and it took this company months to send my title to the right county and my tags expired for 4 months waiting on this company to get it right. read more

Why is it every time I try to due business with them all I get is attitude? I left them years ago because they had horrible customer service and bad attitude. I decided to give them another try and because my wife and I have our credit locked down from past identity theft they needed our credit unlocked. When I called Julie to try to find a solution she immediately took an attitude with me. I was able to do it immediately but my wife is at work. Car loan with Rogue Credit Union Automatic payments monthly, Payments up to date. Rogues Credit Union just towed our car Saturday, claiming our insurance doesn't have a $1000.00 deductible. Disabled, assisted living, just put new tires on it. Called Rogue Credit Union to get answers on Monday, also received a certified letter on Monday stating the car needed 1000,00 deductible on it. While talking to them to clarify why our car was towed. But hey, pay $2400,00 we can have our car back. How is the credit union still in business? read more

New to the area and opened several accounts here. What a huge mistake that was. I have never dealt with such incompetent people. Not one knows what they are doing. Simple issues regarding IRA's and the distribution of them when you reach 73. They send you forms to fill out and can't direct to you what you are supposed to do. Then they don't return phone calls. First they say they didn't receive my insurance information when I did the refinance then after submitting the information to them they still wanted additional information. we were very excited to take a mini mortgage on a property we already own, so we could do some home improvements . After filling out all the paperwork, we were shocked to find out that $13,000 was what we had to pay in closing costs and fees. Thank God we went to a different credit union. We ended up borrowing 10,000 more than we wanted to with Rogue, and had zero closing costs and zero fees. Poor poor customer service. I have been a member since I was 16, 51 years now. Needless to say it was my first banking experience. The customer service has gone south over the last 5 years. Long lines to see a teller. I went in to get an annuity withdrawal form sent (by the way the money was going into my Rogue account and the lady at the front desk told me they weren't supposed to do it. I had called the customer service line and they told me absolutely as I have done this for years. She did do it for me but I have to wait to see if it actually went through successfully. I would like to start by saying anyone buying a car through Rogue Federal Credit Union should double check the contract and maybe even hire a lawyer to read over the contract. Rogue federal added in a unemployment disability insurance to my car loan without telling me what that would even look like financially or disclosing what it was exactly. I looked at my banking statement and saw that it was 100 dollars a month added on to my car loan... I would have never agreed to this and when I went back to them and asked they said well you signed for it and I said yes but did you disclose how much that was monthly and they even said NO... For a "community" based credit union with 2 Billion in assets, they sure aren't big on "customer service" If you call the 800 # you can expect a 45 minute wait for a brand new person. Your auto loan is third partied out to Texas. Totally automated, so good luck solving a problem there. Credit Card problem, say hi to the customer service person in Manila? They don't understand you, you don't understand them, so back to the credit union to sort the mess out. read more

I've had nothing but problems with this bank. From business loans, refinancing my vehicle, and my personal account. The refinancing of my vehicle was handled so poorly, not only did I get an apology from the manager, but unfortunately now I'm locked in to the loan I was trying to get out of. All due to the mishandling of Rogue Federal credit Union. The bankers are friendly. The lady at the middle desk, taking appointments for notary, and loans, cannot multitask! Financed car with RCU & paid off the loan. Vehicle title? "It will be mailed to you." "Can I pick it up?" "No, it will be mailed to you." "Can you mail it to my PO Box instead of my home address?" "Sure." Six weeks later, no title. Called 2x for update. "Title has been sent." "Where was it sent?" "Home address" --(not PO Box as requested for security & agreed to by RCU). -- Then, "RCU sends titles in a discrete envelope....we do it so there are no identifying markers from RCU on the envelope." -- Six weeks after mailing it to the wrong address RCU reveals this crucial piece of information: Look through all mail at all addresses we have for you. --- Was the car title tossed out like junk mail? Maybe. -- Does someone else have it? Maybe. --- Why didn't RCU call when the title was ready and let me pick it up? If it HAD to be sent by USPS, which turns out not to have been true, why not send it certified mail requiring a signature? Maybe this will turn out ok .... but irritating. Who can you believe? I deposited my payroll check And they put a five day hold on it. It's not like I just opened an account with them. I have been banking here for 5 years. Next time I will just cash the check then deposit the cash. If they won't cash it well bye bye RCU. There are plenty other places to bank. You can go to rogue credit Union South they are much more helpful. North Rogue credit union in Medford will put a hold a money order or a check. It's Got to be the manager running this credit union. He needs to be fired he is a total jerk, I will never use north credit union again and I am thinking about moving my money out. read more

Rogue Credit Union is a decent bank. My family has used the credit union since the 70's. The staff is usually pretty friendly and helpful. My car loan is at a really good rate, is why I use the credit union. They beat all the other banks rates. I was inquiring about a new mortgage loan and I got all my questions answered with the appointment I had made. read more

Im a non member who used their atm yest, atm did not have the requested amount, it canceled the transaction but still took the money from my account now taking up to 10 days to rectify, DO NOT USE THEIR ATM if not a member, their equipment not even able to keep account of its cash in hand, should have canceled the transaction immediately when the amount was entered NOT after the fees extracted and money withdrawn from my account!! I have been over drafted for a week because this bank took two auto lone payments out of my bank account in one month. Plus an additional 60$ for some odd reason. Now I own my personal bank a full auto payment + 60$ + over draft fee from three transactions. They are now telling me its going to take another week for me to see my money back in my personal bank account. The manager apologized for the inconvenience and refunded the second auto payment and the extra 60$ but refused to cover my over draft fees. I still will not have any money for another week. That's two weeks and I'm sure you could understand the hardship I will be facing this coming week with food and gas inflation these days. read more

I've been with rogue credit union for 6 years now and I just had a very, very bad situation regarding their bank. I had a check given to me by an employer to pay for work I had done. But the guy was giving me some shady vibes so I called my bank, Rogue Credit Union, to verify if the check was legit. After screenshotting the front and back of the check, I emailed them both pictures. They said it seemed good and that I could cash it. It took 2 days to fully have the funds. I spent about $400 of the $1800 check. Then about 2 days later they locked my account and it had a -$500 balance!! I called immediately and they said it was a fraudulent check. I told them that I had already talked to one of their employees and he said it was a good check and that I could cash it. If he had said there was something wrong with the check, I never would have cashed it! That's why I called in, in the first place. So now after about 5 phone calls to get this resolved with their bank or branch manager, their solution was.....YOU PAY FOR IT!! After they told me it was okay to cash. I'm absolutely beyond FRUSTRATED! The worst service of any bank I've ever used! Do not use ROGUE CREDIT UNION!! They will NEVER admit fault or work with you as a customer. To prove that their employee told me I could cash the check, I asked for the conversations between he and I. They went instantly into defense mode and said I'd need to get a subpoena to get the phone records of the 2 conversations. As a CUSTOMER I think it's more than fair to ask for audio regarding phone calls between myself and their phone agent, as all calls are recorded. But obviously only for their benefit. Very SHADY!! Dishonest and hard to work with. My truck was totaled in an accident geico paid them months ago. I started receiving threatening letters for payment. The gap insurance co repeatedly tried to get a hold of them for paperwork. Rogue took months to send the requested paperwork to the gap insurance co. Would never use them again. My new credit union is far better. read more

I've been a RFCU member for more than 15 years. Something happened this past year, and they can't blame it all on COVID-19. Service has gotten worse and worse, and two friends have pointedly said they've taken their accounts elsewhere after mistakes and lack of responsiveness. The new online system has apparently been a disaster, and there is no decent search option for getting your questions answered - just a bunch of FAQs and a chat button that doesn't work. I am trying to buy a home, and for an entire day now I have been unable to get anyone via phone, chat, or email AT ALL - much less have a time-sensitive question answered. I live 1.5 hours away from the nearest branch now and am unable to come in. read more

I have been a Rogue Credit Union customer since the early 1990s. As most businesses have, Rogue Credit Union has evolved through the changing times. However, the changes that Rogue Credit Union has recently made are not in favor of the 'Members.' Making a phone call to them for help now requires a hold time averaging 30 minutes. The website is commonly not functional with inherent problems. Worse, I have recently reported unauthorized charges and the response from Rogue Credit Union was to send a form letter stating that they didn't think the unauthorized, monthly recurring charges were suspicious. They requested me to call the phantom biller. This lack of customer service cannot position Rogue Credit Union for future changing times. I like this place a ton. Maybe it's cuz they aren't a publicly traded corporation but instead considered a non profit organization. I also really like that they have great interest rates on loans and are not gouging their members with all kindsa extra fees. During the summer they had a freezer full of orange-sicles for all to enjoy- really made "going to the bank" something the little guy looked forward to. They consistently give great service and I love that I don't have to fill out a stupid withdrawal or deposit slip. Just let the teller know what u need to do and it gets done quick. Only cons of a credit union: you can't find one in every city in every state. Not a huge deal for me tho. read more

I walked in and tried to open a new account. I was asked if I had an appointment. I did not. They could not fit me in until the next day, I was unavailable since I would be at work.
