Rogue's Gallery is an awesome comic and gaming shop in Round Rock. What distinguishing itself for me is the children's book and graphic novel section and their selection of DnD minis. My daughter and I go regularly as we read and paint together so it's a fun outing for our hobbies. I don't read as many comics as I once did but they have a great selection of monthly issues and trade paperbacks. Staff are welcoming and nice. read more

Saw this place after eating. Neat place, they have a unique set up. New comics. Then a number 1 section. Then a story line section where they put all the comics in a storyline next to each other. They have graphic novels by writers and then just by company elsewhere. Lots of games too. I found something DC is doing. Small versions of graphic novels. If you are looking for some people that know their comics AND their board games, this is the place for you. I've been by about a dozen times or so now and their staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate their YA section of games and comics as I have a young nephew and this place makes it easy to shop for him. Plus, throughout the pandemic they have been firm with their mask policy. Ok I'm a girl gamer been to my fair share of comic books before fcbd was popular my first interaction with this store I took a lot of comic books from fcbd and my husband told me afterward that there was a limit I was embarrassed so I messaged them on Facebook and apologized instead of acting like a jerk they said, "hey it happens thanks for letting us know and I didn't have to do their dishes." Best. Response. Then my second interaction, yesterday, I had been around looking for DM material for dnd and I was about at the end of my rope. My husband said that I should try Rogue. Well, yesterday was free rpg and I was nervous. I went in, the staff greeted me and the gentleman that helped me, was awesome. Yes, the dork I am had to thank him twice. He had played as a DM for many years and gave me great advice, was patient with my questions and treated me like a gamer and not some dumb girl like I've been treated like before. It was awesome. I went back a 3rd time that day cause I'm making my deck of many things to get clear plastic sleeves and the girl that assisted me even walked over to the display and gave me great ideas. Sorry for the chapter but believe me, try this place, talk to the staff - they are the best people around and make this place worth coming back too. I'll be going back today to get more stuff. I like this place! They have a really good selection of Marvel and DC collection-like books which I was grateful for. I found some collections that I hadn't seen before in other stores. I definitely picked those up. I'm also happy that they have a good selection of indie comics. I was a little disappointed in their manga and past issue sections, but it's ok. I found other things of interest. I'm also thankful that they are still following COVID protocol. read more

I wanted to like this place but the Pokémon booster packs costed 2x as much as online and even carried a dollar premium over the local supermarket. Best price I could get on a box of packs (36) was 161$ and that was with 10% off. Box of cards goes for 95-100$ online. Buying 36 sleeved packs at HEB is 143.64 What gives. I understand a comic book shop is a tough store to keep up and staff has to be paid, but when there's that much of a price discrepancy I can't justify supporting my local shop by spending an additional 70$ over online and ~20$ over HEB. read more

This is always my go-to comic shop. The staff is amiable and welcoming and makes great conversation. The space feels like a homey comic store, filled with hand-crafted displays and personal touches, making the store feel unique. If there is a comic that they don't have on hand they help make sure you can get it. On occasion, they'll play a movie or show on their screen so you can watch/listen to it while you shop. I go on a semi-weekly basis while in town and when I leave town, I can use a free subscription so they can hold the comics I want until I am there to buy them. Check'em out! Previously D-Lair North (Dragon's Lair North, but now under new name), this location is great for providing almost as many options as the Dragon's Lair location in South Austin and is conveniently located off 35 in Round Rock for us north-gaming types. This store focusses on Comics, RPG books, and Manga, though they do have quite a nice selection of board/card games, dice, gaming/comic t-shirts, and miniatures. I've always had great experiences with the guys running this location and everyone is very knowledgable about the products they sell and friendly to boot! Lackadaisical service. They had an exclusive G.I. Joe comic not available anywhere else in the country and I was very eager to purchase and even willing to pay extra. However, I am not in the area and they were unwilling to ship to me, stating by email they "weren't equipped to ship small items". I even offered to send a mailer with prepaid postage. wtf? I'm a lifelong collector, but the attitudes of some retailers doesn't give me much hope for the survival of the industry. read more

This store and the staff go out of their way to help you find what you are looking for. The service here is so good that I drive 15 minutes out of my way just to shop here. When they haven't had something in stock, they have tried to order it for me. If they can't order it, they tell me other places I might find it. read more

I love how rogues gallery has a wide variety of comics and board games. It's not like one of those places where they promise they have both comics and games but theth just have comics only or games only, this place is 50/50 for each one. It's not just comics and games, they have a really good selection of acting ok n figures and graphic novels. But, recently I have seen that they weren't up to date with the recent harley quinn comics and I got kind of pissed at that, because it is my favorite series. I get notifications from the store on what new stuff is coming for the nest week and they are starting to keep up with them. All in all, it is an amazing store for an amazing variety of "nerdy" stuff. read more

THE BEST COMICS PLACE I'VE FOUND SINCE MOVING TO AUSTIN!!! Great staff, great selection, great experience every time I go in (which sadly, isn't nearly enough)! They have a great selection of monthly's, lots of things you've heard of, plenty of new and exciting and weird and obscure things you haven't. They keep a great selection of graphic novels, games, toys and other items you're sure to love and if they don't have something they can order it in for you! I just learned they're moving a few doors down to bigger and better digs which is exciting! I'll be back again next month to pick up the next Batman vs The Shadow and probably a bunch of other stuff because I can't seem to walk out of there without finding exactly what I need and then a bunch of stuff I didn't know I needed until I was there haha!!! I'll also add I'd almost always rather buy comics from stores like Rogue's Gallery than Barnes & Noble or Amazon simply because I love comic book stores and want to see them continue to exist! I have frequented this comic shop faithfully for my subscriptions and board games since 2007 when I first discovered the comic store and have subsequently developed a great deal of camaraderie with the staff. Rogue's Gallery in Round Rock is a well-run store, with an amazing, fun and intelligent staff, and a pro-active initiative in hosting entertaining and unique events that have helped me cultivate my RPG knowledge, expand my comic collection in new and thoughtful ways and meet other local collectors and players that have helped my role playing adventures prosper, which was always a bit difficult for me in the past due to other comic/game stores being arrogant and not really caring about their customers as individuals. But Rogue's Gallery honestly is a GREAT place to meet new people with similar interests whether it be at their weekly RPG/gaming nights, to special D&D events, to Free Comic Book Day to awesome release parties and signings! The staff is so friendly and open-minded, that I highly suggest Rogue's Gallery if you want a helpful environment when it comes to your gaming and comic needs. I no longer live in Round Rock, but am more than happy to make the trip to see them and collect my file, as I remain a loyal customer. I really miss coming in here daily and chatting with the guys, so being signed up for the Rogue's Gallery Dispatch helps me keep in touch! I am really proud to know these guys. Yes, they have board games, and quite a few of them. The selection was pretty good...many of the recently popular boardgames. They also have some collectible games, and some miniatures and paints. Furthermore, the clerk seemed happy to help or let me browse, and I overheard a conversation between two guys about some gaming they'd been doing. Those are all good signs. But the store is missing a few things and in the end they hurt the atmosphere. First, there's no play space...in fact there's not much space at all, it's pretty full of displays/shelving. If two people are in the same aisle at the same time then you're in each others' way. The games are in the middle of the store on the shelving so you can't step back and scan the shelves, you're in the aisle moving your whole body just to see what that game is hiding behind that other game. In Texas I expect larger stores with sizable aisles, even though I know that space has a cost and they probably don't get enough traffic/sales to justify the extra expense. Second, there's no demo/sample copies. Again, that's added expense and hassle, but even if there's just one game open to check out that's going to make it much more likely that I step up to the counter and have a conversation. Third, I didn't see a board for local gamers to post tournaments, looking-for-player/group ads, etc. That's a great way to build community and all it takes is a space on the wall. Fourth, they were lacking in oldies-but-goodies. They've got several latest-and-greatest, but not the classics. That says to me that they're not planning on selling to anyone that isn't already a gamer. Because a gamer either has the oldies-but-goodies, or isn't so interested in them...but a non-gamer, an almost-gamer, or a quasi-gamer can really benefit from being recommended to play something that's seen the test of time. They had a Ticket to Ride expansion or two, but not the base game, and they had some of the Settlers variants, but not the original. It makes me question whether they can really make good recommendations. So, it's not bad from a gaming perspective...but Austin has (at least) two excellent game stores...so I don't see why I'd ever come back. (They also seem to have a good collection of comics but I wasn't shopping for that today.) read more

It's not one of the largest stores in town, but for my money it's the best. The staff is courteous, friendly, and most importantly, well-informed. They've got a great inventory of games and recent comics, and go the extra mile for customer special orders. It is saying something that I live closer to three other comic/game shops, but choose to do all of my business with Rogues Gallery. read more

I've been buying comics from Rogue's for a little more than a year, so I would definitely call myself a fan! PROS: Easy to get monthly pulls set up, the staff is generally able to chat and make personalized recommendations, staff doesn't make you feel dumb if you don't know everything that's happening or has happened in comics, podcast, book clubs, game nights. CONS: Just because of the size of the shop, Rogue's can't have the selection of collectibles and older comics that larger stores may have. read more

As a part time fan of comics, and a long time fan of all things cerebral, I was excited to discover Rogue's Gallery in Round Rock. I had recently gotten into board games, and was looking for games to play with my daughter. Each visit, the staff knew exactly what games I was talking about, and was able to suggest (often based on personal experience) whether they or alternates would be good choices. What's more, when they recommended a game, it was often a game that I had tried and enjoyed! (We'll assume that means we both have good taste :) ). I never felt like I was taking up their time, and they always appeared to sincerely love what they do (and want to help others participate). There always seems to be a strategy game going on in the back of the store; while not my bag, it was awesome to see such a welcome and enjoyable environment for gamers being provided (presumably at no cost). Bottom line: if you're into comics, board/strategy games, or interesting collectibles and toys, Rogue's Gallery is a hidden treasure in Round Rock. read more

Love it here! My favorite comic store, and best of all, it's in Round Rock. No need to drive all the way into downtown. They have a good selection of new comics from Image, Marvel, Archie ect, and enough stuff for kids as well. First time I visited they were doing a TMNT event with a live artist. I look forward to seeing more events there, and until then, finding some awesome comics. read more
