My family and I have gone to Dragon's Lair several times. The store is clean and bright and all of the employees are friendly. The store has life sized action figures on display and tables where you can play games but I think you have to reserve the tables. The store also has a wide variety of merchandise such as comics, games, plushies, collectible items and so much more. Overall it's a great place to visit if you like comics and games. The atmosphere is welcoming and there is a variety of merchandise to look at or to purchase.

Huge selection overall. A few shelves were empty. Limited on RPG, dice, miniatures, and magic which is what we were on the hunt for. They do have tons of games and comics and even creative cards, books, gifts and nerd inspired home goods. We came on a Monday afternoon and it was fairly quiet which was nice. Standard pricing. Staff was attentive and offered to help.

This game shop has something for everyone. Board games, TCGs, comics, collectibles. I was seriously overwhelmed!! I came here looking to add to my board game collection but ended up walking out with a few other things too. I got some merch from the business itself with a pin and candles. But the feeling of people enjoying themselves and the building filled with laughter was seriously awesome. People were actively playing a bunch of different things from magic to their own different campaigns. I loved it! Plus the cat was so pretty! I love supporting local shops and this was incredible! The prices were all crazy affordable and the selection was impressive too. Worth every penny spent

Front of the store is nice and clean in a good area - can't say that for many comic stores

One of the best comic shops I've been to! Seriously well done. Not just selection but it is so clean and well organized. Family friendly and super helpful, definitely worth going there if you're in the Austin area! Lots of options for gaming (CCG, miniatures, board games) and a nice selection of comics. Didn't see a lot of back issues but a very healthy collection of current issues going back 6mos to a year. Plus lots of fun kid options and other Knick knacks! SELECTION: They do a lot and they seem to do it all well. They have regular Pokémon TCG, Magic the Gathering, Digimon, and other tournaments and opportunities to play. Wonderful comics from DC, Marvel, Indie, and kids books. Nice selection of Dungeons and Dragons too! SERVICE: Amazing. Everyone is friendly and helpful and don't make you feel like you're bothering them. Just nice, helpful people who know their stuff! COST: Pretty reasonable. Average prices, maybe a little on the high end, but worth it for the selection.

From the outside, the store looks deceptively small, but once inside, it's quite spacious and filled to the ceiling with every imaginable game, book, model, comic, figurine, poster, jewelry and even some soy candles. In this space, you'll find quite a number of gaming tables to sit at. Usually after 6 PM they hold gaming sessions for those who want to play. One thing they do not sell here is vintage comics and games, so don't think about selling any you might have gathering dust in your closet here. Lots of pictures here to get you through the door.

One of the biggest comic book stores I've ever seen. I'm not into D&D and other role playing games, but if you are...this is your spot. There were dozens of folks deep into games here. The store is so large that there is so much else to do. Comics, funkos, board games, art, and all kinds of other merch. It's such a lively place when you walk through the doors. 2 cats patrol the location and are very friendly.

They have a bouncer at the front. Make sure to show ID.

I never in a million years thought I'd find a place like this. It's awesome and has a little bit of nerdiness for everyone. This store has comic books (obviously), board games, trading cards, posters and lots of other swag. The coolest part of the store though is in the back. Why? Because it's where tons of people can go and try out games or have a rousing session of D&D. My wife and I always try the available games to play and it gives us a brand new experience every time. If you also want, there's a burger place and a Thai place too right next door! Go in and experience this place for yourself!

Dragon's Lair is the essential nerd-dom shop. It merges all the fun interests of board games, comics, manga, role playing, and trading card games into a single shop. The moment you walk in you'll be greeted by colorful board games on your left and graphic novels in your right. The store has table top areas on the left side but you can also reserve a private room which is perfect for dedicated or large groups. The playing tables for card games are in the back but you really can't miss them. The store is spacious, clean, and smells good. Restrooms (located in the back) fit the same description. It's a must visit for anyone looking to broaden their gaming or nerd culture horizons.

This place is the best comic book/cosplay store i have ever been to. It's awesomely decorated with private rooms for you and your friends to play your RPGs in. plenty of room to explore and the shop and not feel like you are in the way of all the gameplay going on in the back. The best part is that they have 2 kitties that run around the store And they are super friendly and you can pet them.. I am a big fan of animal friendly businesses. I will be back soon!

Dragon's Lair is more than a comic shop - it's a geek's paradise! They stock tons of comics (of course), but also a huge board game selection and host regular tournaments. You'll find cool collectibles, from plushies to statues. Best of all, the resident shop cats add a touch of cuddly charm. Whether you're a hardcore fan or just browsing, this is a welcoming spot for the nerdy at heart. The staff are well informed about all of the products and you can buy hard to find items at good prices.

Not perfect but awfully close. Dragon's Lair is on my list of "must visit" comics and game stores when I'm in Texas and I make sure to get there at least a half dozen times a year. It offers a great combination of comics and games without creating the feeling that one is favored over the other. The staff is well informed and always ready to help. There always seems to be several active games underway. There are always new comics and the latest board and collectibles games at fair prices. My only gripe is that I live too far away to make Dragon's Lair my regular game shop.

Love this place!! They have such a large range of board games to choose from. For a store in Austin, the interior was very large and their selection of games is one of the best in the city. I also loved how clean and welcoming the shop felt. Would recommend it if you're looking to buy a new board game. They also have a demo section where you can try out some of the games that are on their shelves. In the demo section you can just pick a game you're interested in and there are plenty of tables available to play on. They also have events and other tournaments for a variety of games!

Still a great, well organized offering

The music was great and he was very informative about what I was looking for. Nicely hooked me up with their monthly program so I can get all the comics I needed, and they were on point for about six months. Then comes my birthday, very excited to bring my son in and grab my monthly comics. I called the shop on the day of my birthday and the lady owner answered the phone, at this point I have met all the gentleman and just wanted to introduce myself. Me: " Hello who am I speaking with? Her: " I didn't give a name" Me: " correct that's why I'm asking" Her: what can I do for you" Me: " id like to know who I'm speaking with please" Her " This is Kings Cache" Me" I understand that I'm a new member and just checking in on my comics" then her tune changed. Graciously she wanted to be friendly instead of acknowledging me from the beginning and being secretive and ominous. All of this came from her with a very cantankerous attitude and resistance to lead with the right customer service. They have caller ID there, so usually when I call the fellas already acknowledge me but name. Can't believe the fake high road this lady wanted to drive on. I've had nothing but great experiences and then I call and she gives me two shades of gray. Buyer beware, they are nice til they grab ya, then ounce they have you, the care to get to know you or give you the respect you deserve is obsolete. The one gentleman is great the other two could care less for you. Austin Books and Comics and Batcity comics have now graciously taken my business. Which is good because if I see another funko pop my head will explode. Stick with dolls and leave the comics to the big boys. Just because it's a hobby doesn't mean you have to give it a bankers mentality. Ebay, Other stores and Collector conventions offer too much competition. Be better humans. You made this guy feel awful on a day that was so important you won't realize. At the end of the day you just had to be nice, you know who you were and to that my circles and collectors corners will not drive from hill country anymore to spend our disposable income. Thank goodness Batcity just opened up. Can get two more comics for the gas saved!!! I hope this helps do better, because I'm still reeling and this message doesn't do what I witnessed justice.
