Walking past another restaurant and decided to give it a try. It's definitely upper scale for around here and pricing reflects it. The salad was a strange rendition of the classic. Had more of a thousand island type dressing. It was served with what appears to be homemade garlic bread and was very good. Drink was very good and quite tasty. The entrees took awhile but not super long. Both dishes were ordered the pasta was Al dente. Sauce was good and the shrimp weee plentiful. The service was very good and they used a team concept to take care of everyone. Tried the outside seating but it was very wet and humid. Indoor seating was quiet and air conditioned. Granted, we picked up the pizza and salad, so this is for food only. The atmosphere and view sound wonderful and, hot, the pizza may have been better... Our pizza Margherita was smallish: 10 inches and the crust not crisp. I read in one review to ask for the crust to be extra crispy. We ordered one Caesar salad intending to share, and it was very small. Overall, not a good experience for us, but if we are onsite, we could have asked for changes. read more

Been here three times now. Every time I got a pizza. They do pretty good thin crust, could ease up a bit on the cheese though. The service is always excellent and attentive unlike some other restaurants on the block and the patio overlooking the water is the best in the neighborhood. The only thing that would make the place better is to dial-in a better music selection. I believe there's a disconnect with the management here thinking gringos want to listen to elevator music from the 90s. Umm no. I brought my headphones the second and third visit. Our local friend suggested Rolandi's and we were glad he did. We're from New York where good Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen, but this place did not disappoint. The location right on the sea just shy of the hustle and bustle of town is fabulous. They have an extensive menu. The grilled fish in garlic sauce I ordered was delicious. My husband had the veal ravioli. We shared beef carpaccio with truffle oil and Parmesan. The mojito my husband ordered was the best he had all week. I had the Miami Vice - a mix of pina colada and strawberry daiquiri. Great service! Delicious and wonderful atmosphere! We watched the sunset with glasses of wine and then indulged for our last night in Cozumel. Make sure to get a table right at the water, they take reservations! The home made noodles with Gorgonzola were absolutely fantastic. I added mushrooms and chicken-- YUM YUM I wish I could eat it again. My mom got the steak and loved it, ordered a size of Gorgonzola to dip the fries in. My dad got the fresh fish with veggies. We asked for a side of fresh habanero which added a kick to everything. The restaurant changed names and is now called Portosal, got a small pizza to go and a 2 glasses of ok white wine. The pizza was nothing great, kind of under cooked and soggy. The view is beautiful but other than that it is a pass. There are much better restaurants on the island to choose from. read more

Not bad at all. This is one of the fancier places in town and serves both pizza and seafood. Pizza is wood fired and looked good. The bread served was pizza dough made thin and pretty good. Seafood salad appetizer was really good. Wife had lobster and it was yummy. I had the shrimp and good as well. Wine list was better than expected and found a nice white. Service was average at best with long waits and multi waiters. Dinner for two came out about 140usd with tip. If you want the freshest seafood try Guidos, which has a history sort of with Rolandis. read more

The location on this map is incorrect. The restaurant is located across the street from Mega grocery store, not across from the airport. The food was excellent, but the view, the ambiance was the selling point. The service was friendly, but plan to stay for about 2 hours if you're doing the full course dinner (drinks, apps, dinner, dessert). Surf and turf was 42.00 dollars. Want all of our dinners to be this nice. The conversion to dollars was 16 to 1, when it was suppose to 18.6...So we paid with pesos and it saved $6.00 us dollars. read more

I am never one to give a restaurant five stars, but this place was fantastic! We wanted a place that served something other than Mexican food and this place did just that! My husband and I are in Cozumel for our honeymoon and we went here on our last night (was in our hotel travel guide and was suggested by another guest who is a frequent visitor to Cozumel) and it did not disappoint. To start, we were seated on the edge of a dock right by the ocean with a lovely candle light ambience. We each got a beer and then we split their capraese salad for an appetizer and we were thrilled that they had pizza! We split the dimatia and the one with pepperoni. They told us they were personal pizzas but we could have easily split one! We were so full that we didn't get any dessert, but I am certain it would not have disappointed. read more

The pizza is really great, and so are the drinks. Great service. Beautiful view. I came here for lunch on a Sunday, and it was very peaceful. I watched the cute little birds on the patio that wanted us to feed them. The complimentary bread is very unique and worth trying. The habanero sauce it comes with is spicy but not terribly overwhelming. The ravioli isn't bad, but the pizza is great. The drinks are a good size. My first visit to Rolandi's was in December 1982 at their old location which was just as charming as their "new" location. I remember it fondly because of their delicious Rolandi calzone. This was before other restaurants made calzones and Rolandi's set the bar high. Now, 32 years later since my last visit to Rolandi's and it did not disappoint. The service was the best we have had on the island including the small ice cooler for my 1/2 craft of wine, and the purse stand. The calzone was again out of this world being moist with their signature asparagus inside. Calzones at most restaurants are dry but not at Rolandi's. It is nice to know that some things improve with age. I was afraid with the passage of time and two major hurricanes, Rolandi's would have gone away. What a delightful surprise to find it was still in operation and still setting the bar high. read more

We use to dine at Pizza Rolandi's every summer while visiting Cozumel and the pizza, garlic bread and desserts were amazing! Best pizza on the island, sure it has been 20+ years since we were there last but the summers of 1988-1994 15-20 people would show up and they always took amazing care of us! A frequent stop for my husband and I whenever we stay in Cozumel. Usually we just chill at the bar and enjoy the sunset with some drinks, we have eaten here too though and it was a great experience. Food is not as ridiculously priced as one would assume since it's a bit more removed from the cruise ship crowd. 4 apps, a round of shots, and a round of drinks cost us ~$70. Apps were great - we had the beef tartar, Rolandi's ceviche, calamari, all fresh and tasty. For our dinner I ordered the new york strip rare and it came out perfectly. The decor might make it seem a little more on the upscale side but trust me, showing up in shorts and sandals is perfectly fine. There's a small seating area inside but highly recommend sitting outside where you can enjoy the ocean view and breeze. The service has always been top notch and very friendly. No shenanigans here like at some places closer to the cruise ships (no whistles, balloon animals, 'free' tequila shots), so it's a much more laid back environment. Looking forward to stopping in again on our next trip! read more

My husband and I visited this restaurant while on a recent trip to Cozumel and although it is a beautiful restaurant located right by the ocean and excellent service, the food is lacking. I ordered the grilled seasoned chicken breast which comes with 2 sides. I chose the spaghetti with pasta sauce and a small green salad for my sides. When the waiter brought the chicken to the table, it was still sizzling and smelled delicious (well seasoned with rosemary). However, when I cut into it, I noticed that it was fatty and some of it was sticking to the pan. :\ The spaghetti was just OK but nothing special. The salad was only a few pieces of lettuce and a couple of slices of tomatoes with a vinaigrette dressing on top. To drink, I ordered a sangria that tasted more like fruit soda with diced apples in it. Sangria is one of my favorite drinks. I know what it should taste like. I was disappointed. The only thing I enjoyed here was the beautiful view of the ocean and the service. Do not waste your money eating here. read more

One of the best pizzas I've ever ate, I was never expecting to get this great of pizza in Mexico. They brought out a basket of hand made bread before our mail and it was so fresh and delicious. The pizza was made on a thin crust that was fresh and not some pre-mix though. It's ok. We were tired of Mexican food and wanted something different so we decided to stop in. Food was pretty good, but not incredible. Olive oil and bread appetizer wasn't too good, don't think the olive oil was good quality. Shrimp vodka sauce was good enough but lacked a bit of flavor you get at an authentic Italian place-I ended up loading it up with pepper flakes and habanero sauce. Pizza was cooked nicely. We spent the week in Cozumel and on our last night, we wanted to eat some good Italian food. We found this place on Yelp and we decided to try it out. The food was mediocre at best. The drinks were ok. The price was extremely expensive for the quality of the food. My boyfriend got their home made lasagna and his immediate reaction was "it tastes like Chef Boyardee". Now you know that if it tastes like its from a can, it's not good. I got rigatoni and that was mediocre like I said. Not impressed at all. For the price of the food (2 plates and 4 drinks was almost $70), you would think it would be pretty awesome. The waitstaff was courteous and attentive. Only thing that Rubbed me the wrong way was the server seemed annoyed bc we only left a $4 tip, I'm sorry, but that's a lot in pesos! The views were pretty great though! It was sunset when we got there and our table was right on the water. Got some pretty great pictures! Experience was good, ambiance was good, but food killed the mood. For foodies, the view is amazing, the mixed seafood ceviche was good, the fried calamari & zucchini were average, and without exception the main entrees were a complete disaster. The filet mignon was flavorless masked with a cheap marinade with a hint of liquid smoke and the lobster was pathetic and tiny which would be a negative but in this case spares one from eating more gross lobster. The shrimp was ill prepared, wasn't de-veined, overpriced and unlike my foster child I didn't have the good sense to send it back. The lasagna had a gritty hard sand like substance and looked like something I would think twice about before feeding it to a dog. The best pizza in Coz. It has a spectacular seating area which looks out over the water. Service is excellent. They have a few big tables for groups. I am not certain that I have ever had anything other than their pizza and frankly I might not ever be able to. A decent size cracker style crust, with whatever topping you order. Nothing disappointed. Parking is a bit dicey since it is right next to one of the popular tourist bars but there is plenty parking across the street at the grocery store and on the street in front of the restaurant. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the quality of the food and service. The red sangria was a bit sweet for me. I might try asking them to not add sugar the next time. read more
