I have eaten here many times. The food is consistently good and the atmosphere is comfortable. The service is great and we have trusted them for work groups with special guests several times - and I note the prices are reasonable for the food. The only issue they really don't have a great spot for hosting a sizable group. They have a couple of smaller rooms or you can use an open space upstairs - but it offers no real privacy from the larger area. read more

One of the best restaurants to eat at in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Everything on the menu is amazing. My favorite is Jose's Quesadilla. Flour tortillas stuffed with green onions, sweet peppers, cheese and your choice of chicken, beef, or shrimp with their special mango tomatillo sour cream sauce. The service is great with very attentive waiters and waitresses. The atmosphere is cozy and artistic. Love the way the plates are creatively decorated. read more

Went on a Monday night and it was empty inside. Wait staff was friendly and I was very well taken care of. As someone raised in a Hispanic family and well travelled through Texas and into Mexico, I cannot in good faith recommend this place. I do not think the food I had was good. I really wanted to love it after seeing such glowing reviews but when the guac is the best thing you get, that's not saying much. The prices were so steep!! I paid over $40 for my meal and soda plus guac appetizer. Needless to say, I will probably pick somewhere else next time. No hard feelings, it's just not for me. read more

No reason to eat here, the food lacks flavor, creativity, and spice! We had great service, but the food is geared towards rich white people that have no taste buds. If you want food that tries to have ethnicity, but has no salt, no cilantro, and no spice whatsoever then this might be the place for you, lol. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and overall experience. Location was nice, service was great, menu had lots of options to choose from and everybody enjoyed their meals. We started with the complimentary tostadas and corn-based salsa and worked our way up to the Queso Flamado and Quesadilla (chicken & pork) appetizers. All of these were good and nothing was left behind. I opted for the Pollo Chuchaqui plate, and was not disappointed. The servings for everybody were big so I don't think anybody finished their plates. If you're in downtown Fort Smith and looking for a local dining option, Rolando's is not a bad option! read more

Proof that Latin food varies from country-to-country and region to region. The salsa is tomato based with corn, black beans and spices. Great flavor!! We shared the Popeye burrito - fresh spinach (you don't even have to like spinach that much) and the Josefina Tamales - nothing like traditional Mexican tamales with corn-delicious. Nice little spot. Server was attentive and seemed kind. We didn't eat, but had margaritas and chips and salsa. The salsa was very similar to a taco soup minus the meat. It had tomatoes, corn, bell peppers, and beans, in a tomato broth. Not at all spicy with mild flavor. The chips were stale and unsalted. This lovely Cuban influenced restaurant with a Mexican flare has a lovely atmosphere that makes having a fun family dinner wonderful! The food was delicious, the portions very generous and the drinks were amazing! The Tamales, fajitas, shrimp and the Cuban sandwich were standouts for our mains and the white queso was amazing. Was not impressed at all. I will admit, i thought this was a mexican restaurant, its not at all. so if thats what your looking for, dont go here. Disliked the chips and salsa very much, queso was good though. ordered the susu's enchiladas, half pork half chicken, the tortillas were so thick and the cheese inside was so thick, i did not like these at all. the white rice and black beans everything was served with was so basic, had zero flavor. my husband got chicken fajitas, said they were super basic, couldve just stayed home and made better food. was looking forward to trying dessert, but after the disappointing meal, i didnt even want to waste my money ordering any. read more

Despite not having a reservation, we were seated immediately. Our server was attentive to our needs and we had chips, guacamole and drinks served quickly. The food was excellent. I had the tilapia tacos. The rice served with the meal was very tasty and different from your normal Mexican rice. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. We were a little confused where to park since there are "no parking" signs all over the back lot. But we found a place to park, which was in the restaurant lot (though it wasn't marked as such). First time to eat at rolandos in ft smith. Had a queso blanco for an appetizer. The dip was really good and the chips were crispy - although I had a couple that were chewy. My wife had the burrito and my brother in law had the enchiladas while I had the Atkins diet dish. Mine had pork, chicken, cheese, guacamole and shrimp. It also had pickled onions and some pickled cukes (not really pickles). Very good and I would definitely eat again. My wife enjoyed her burrito although she had a few grains of rice that were hard - not sure if they were dried out or just a little 'fried'. My brother in laws enchilada disappeared so I'm pretty sure he likes it until the end. read more

I ordered online using Door Dash, so I did not go into the restaurant. The food was good and similar to other Rolando's I have visited. I ordered tamales and some of the dough was a little thick compared to meat filling in some places, but that's also how tamales are sometimes. I always order the tamales from Rolando's, so they were just what I expected. When ordering takeout with plastic utensils, I will say the little corn husk tie on the tamale is hard to get off. That tres leches cake was pretty delicious. I could have used a bit more soak on the sponges, but overall I think everyone should try it once on their own. read more

Normally, when I eat at Rolando's, it's always been tasty. But last night, my husband and I met a couple friends for dinner and the food wasn't good. For an appetizer, we ordered the queso flamado- the cheese was gross, and it was one huge piece of cheese that was rubbery and had no flavor. We shared the Don Quijote burrito- it had no flavor, the pork was dry, and the sauce on top was really bland. I'm not one to complain, and I don't usually leave a review unless it is either exceptionally great food or awful tasteless food. This time Rolandos was awful. read more

Rolando's is a higher end Mexican restaurant. The food tastes fresh and is a delicious treat. All of the dishes get an A+ on presentation; they are works of art. I've gone to the Rolando's in Fayetteville before, so I looked forward to my visit. Like the Fayetteville restaurant, the one in Fort Smith offers a military discount. The thing that caught me off guard was after I paid with my credit card, I learned that they have a service charge when paying by credit card. I didn't see the service charge posted in the restaurant or on the menu, but admittedly, I wasn't looking for it. It may be petty of me to make such a point of this, but I find it rude to charge for a credit card processing fee without telling me when I handed them my credit card. I'm hopeful, that those reading this review will properly set their expectations and will help Rolando's from disappointing other customers. read more

Ughhhh. Got the Atkins plate. Everything here tastes the same. Everything. Really good service and management, but the hype of this restaurant is out of proportion to what is really going on. Sure, the chicken was great, but you won't know if the chicken is chicken or tilapia. People like their salsa with corn and black beans? Must be more profitable than putting tomatoes and jalapeños in the blender. Here's their queso recipe. Take a handful of shredded cheese and microwave for 45 seconds. Don't forget to get a nickel's worth of tortilla to put under the shredded cheese. Boom. Done Their salsa recipe? Get a bowl of corn and black beans. Mix. Add a tablespoon of tomato sauce out of a can. Done. Why they got 3 stars? The service. If your guests have zero taste, bring em here. They'll be impressed by the food because the restaurant distracts with all the decor. Maybe they will think they've been transported to a different world. read more

Excellent food, service, and atmosphere! Every visit to Rolando's in the past had always been a first class experience with their food and service. Today was a beautiful warm fall day; a perfect day for a quick spin to Fort Smith to visit the new location. They are now in a beautifully restored and decorated building. It is has a classy, but comfortable South American themed décor throughout. According our waiter they moved in 2017 to their new location [917 N A St]. The food is a modern fusion, of Central and South American recipes. The presentation of every plate is wonderful, as is the quality and taste of the food. It is not Tex- Mex or Mexican! It is flavorful, but not spicy! I think they have kicked things up a notch since they moved to the new location. We had Lulla's Enchiladas and the Plato Adventura. Our food was excellent and the service was perfect. The waiter was Vincent. They have several, very good bottled salsas that work well with the flavors of the mild South American food. Be sure to ask for them, if you like to have a little more spice. Rolando's is still my top pick of any restaurant in Fort Smith. read more
