Terrible service, food took over an hour and a half to come out. Pretty good food though

Notes: 1) been here once…read more2) nice waiting area in front 3) close to Black Warrior Pros: 1) good service 2) good ambiance Cons: 1) okay food Ratings: 3.5/5 Service was really good. Ambiance was overall good. There is a nice waiting area outside which leads into a long hallway where the tables are. The space is used well but could be much improved. There is also a bar which separates the seating area from the bathroom/ back. The food is overall not bad. The mozzarella stick appetizer was good, cheesy and fried well. The marinara sauce was okay. The chicken Parmesan was good. The chicken was cooked well and the Parmesan was a good addition. The spaghetti did not add much to the dish. It felt like store bought spaghetti. Food ratings: 1) mozzarella app: overall 3/5, solid for what it was but nothing impressive 2) chicken Parmesan: overall 2.5/5, solid chicken but other additions didn't really bring much

We didn't drive into town with football traffic, so we ordered Sugo on DoorDash…read more Caesar salad. No croutons. A box full of Romain. A tiny amount of shredded Parmesan. a small tomato on each corner. An ounce of dressing. A three dollar bagged salad from Publix far exceeded Sugos entree salad. Cavatappi, had to literally be from the same box that I buy it from at the store. Had a scoop of Pomodoro sauce on it. And a meatball. I was hoping the meatball would've been the saving grace , but it unfortunately didn't have any flavor and broke apart. Bruschetta salmon. A fillet of salmon that had a small amount of bruschetta topping on the top. Five pieces of grilled asparagus beside it. We opted for the seasonal festival, which was a white Styrofoam container of what appeared to be French cut green beans out of a can. The salmon was good, but this was not a gourmet meal by any means. Positive note. The bread pudding was decent. I know that we won't be going to the restaurant anytime soon and we'll stick with probably Depalmas when they open back up.

Home-run French in downtown Birmingham. I came here with a couple of my friends for a summer…read moreevening dinner out on the patio. We thoroughly toured the list of French wines, imbibed on a couple of their yummy cocktails (my friend loves the "Last Word"). Service was, of course, fantastic. The location is one of the most quaint and vibey in town (Morris Ave) and the food is certainly up to snuff. We split the famous potato appetizer and I had the half chicken for entree. Both outstanding.

This was my first time to visit La Fete. The location is great. Right on the historic Morris Avenue…read morenext to Alabama Peanut Co. and in front of Pilcrow and Cayo Coco Rum Bar. We were able to make a reservation for inside dining which I liked because it was a hot June Alabama day, but I would have preferred outside because it was so loud inside, there was no sound suppression, and the tables were very close together. The outside patio was nice and covered. Next time I will request to sit outside. We started with the sourdough bread which I highly recommend! There was enough pieces to have one while you waited for your dinner, and to save one to eat with your dinner. My husband ordered the deviled eggs and really enjoyed them. For our entree, we shared the roasted chicken. It was a half chicken with lemon, garlic, shallots and potato gratin. It was plenty for both of us. We even had leftovers. This is probably because of the appetizers and we had stopped for drinks at Cayo Coco before dinner. We usually skip dessert, but my husband really wanted to try the chocolate custard, bittersweet chocolate custard with chantilly cream. The presentation was beautiful. I had a couple of bites and it also tasted amazing. Our waiter recommended a dessert wine that paired with the custard. He let us try a couple of sips, and the sweet fruitiness really made a difference. The service was amazing. We will definitely be back.
