A second employee gave us new skates without question. After about 45 minutes, my son had a blister the size of a quarter on his foot so went back up to get skates one size bigger. That same employee rolled her eyes like we were making her job so hard (there was no line). Two suggestions: (1) be proactive and interactive and take a moment to see if the kid's skates work, and (2) retrain the bratty teenager who doesn't really want the skate rental job. In the rink, things were pretty good but you have to watch out for (1) tiny children who don't know how to skate wandering everywhere, and (2) kids racing around like they're Apolo Ohno qualifying for the Olympics.

Now, in May 2026, he has graduated from the program and moved on to Hockey 101 at age 5. We truly have nothing bad to say about the program or the coaches. They have always treated our son with love, patience, and respect. Even though there are many children in each session, the coaches consistently make an effort to provide one-on-one feedback to every child, regardless of skill level. They are kind, encouraging, and genuinely seem to love what they do. We are incredibly proud of how far our son has come, and so are his coaches. The program director, Vinny, has been especially wonderful. He is professional, caring, and so sweet with all the kids. What really stood out to us is that he remembered our son by name and even recalled when he first started the program. He was just as excited as we were when our son moved up to Hockey 101, which meant a lot to us as parents. The facilities are always clean, the rinks are very well maintained, and the overall environment feels welcoming and organized. The food is pretty good, and the snack bar is perfect for grabbing a quick bite or drink, although I do feel some items are a bit overpriced. The hockey shop has also been an amazing resource for us. The staff there are truly a delight. They are patient with our son, even when he gets easily distracted, and they never try to upsell unnecessary equipment. Instead, they work within your budget and genuinely try to help you find the best option possible. You can also tell they truly enjoy interacting with the kids. Since we were completely new to hockey when we started, they took the time to teach us how to lace skates properly, make sure equipment fit correctly, and they even taped our son's stick for us. Over time, we've started to feel a real sense of community at the rink, and a lot of that comes from the positive environment created by the skating program and staff. We have also enrolled our son in private one-on-one lessons, and Coach Ava has been a fantastic fit for him. She is kind, fun, professional, and wonderful with children. Overall, we are incredibly grateful for the positive experience our family has had at Center Ice. Watching our son grow in confidence and skill here has been really special for us. As soon as we walked in it was a cold environment. The staff hounded me on a diaper bag for our baby and stated no outside food or drinks allowed . I took one sip and gave my son a sipand the lady immediately came up to me down the bench to tell me she needed to take my water from me because I was distributing water to "people" . If they would have sold water bottles there I understand but they do not , it was very inconvenient not being able to Apple Pay or tap pay with phone . As a consumer this place could be so much more There were other parents in our party also making comments about how they felt very uncomfortable being stared at up and down . After changing wheels/ bearings and adjusting trucks a bunch of times I realized the skates I got were duds. I finally decided to cop a fresh pair of quads here. She helped navigate the selection and we found these beauties with the perfect fit/style! After that I never left the rink again. I am looking forward to breaking these babies in!
