My father who has dementia was admitted to rolling hills hospital and our experience was extremely disappointing. Communication was consistently poor , as his primary support , I struggled to get clear timely information about his condition , care and next steps. The discharge process was even worse. I received a message stating I had a limited time of 3 days to pick him up if placement still wasn't found which was completely unrealistic for dementia patients who require careful coordination and appropriate placement. Instead of support and help in planning , there was pressure and urgency without any guidance. Most concerning. This did not feel like an appropriate setting for someone with dementia . Hus needs did not seem to be properly understood or addressed. Which also raises concerns about quality of care and placement. Overall the lack of communication , poor discharge planning and questionable suitability of this facility for dementia patients created unnecessary stress during an already difficult time. I would NOT ever recommend this hospital for families caring for lived ones with dementia who require thought coordinated care. I worked at this Hopsital for 17 months or so and I was just seeing some of the reviews and it saddens me to see such reviews. I know first hand how difficult and stressful it can be at times to care for with quality and empathic hands. This hospital treats all Types with mental health issues and diagnosis and most of the staff I was blessed to work with care and gave there best . (Most, the majority of The staff love there jobs and the patients) if anyone thinks they can perform or do a better job I encourage them to get an application and get hired and get after it. The staff there and the doctor are not idiots. Mental health is real and it's tuff full circle to care for and with caring hands . I miss the patients and the hospital and we're all Old enough to know Ya can please everyone and make Even a third happy. Always a critic that isn't happy and wants to write crazy reviews. I Don't like the way our country goes from time to time does that mean I think I Can do a better job than the president most definitely not . Worst facility ever. Saw a psych 6 times in 4 weeks 15 minutes each. He diagnosed me bipolar schizo. When i confronted him and told him i had been a patient at the largest psych center in Tulsa for 10 years and that my diagnosis was ptsd depression and anxirty he asked the name of the facility i told him. He asked my docs name i gave him the name of last psych i had been seeing..he said thats a great facility and inknow your doc i guess i made a mistake. He said i will correct your records. He never did and it has been haunting me for 4 years. All new docs say wby aren't you taking meds for this diagnosis. My new primary insists i am lying and i can not get life insurance as i am mentally unstable. I learned after the statutory limits had run out this was still in my records or i would sue him and this facility for medical malpractice and slander and defamation of character read more

My mother was a patient here and upon release her meds were given back to us. She was on 80 mg OxyContin. Prior to pulling out of the drive, I noticed the sealed envelope had been open. The staples were in different places than they had been. Come to find out, when I opened the envelope her OxyContin had been replaced with Equste Ibuprofen. We immediately went back in and filed a complaint. I spoke with the hospital ombudsman and eventually the doctor at this facility had to write her a new script and pay for it. The only person able to access patients meds is the RN or charge nurse. Someone intentionally swapped her meds for ibuprofen and is not only a thief but a pathetic nurse that I hope was fired. read more

The worst place I have ever experienced! My husband had a MVA 8/30/21. He was having behavioral issues. A friend recommended this place. Holy hell! What a nightmare! They had him on 10-15 psych meds! Dr Morton is an idiot! After 3-4 falls on the head, and ER visits later, he told me that's the best the can do for him. Funny thing he was at UTSW in dallas and did great! No fall issues, no overmedication! This guy needs to lose his license. We got a call in NYE, my husband was lethargic and they think he aspirated! He was sent to Mercy Ada. The ER DR told us to get out there asap. He was septic! His BP was low 50/30, body temp 90 degrees. Didn't look good! I told Dr Morton. He said best to put him on hospice! WTF! He is stable! God willing we are getting him back to TBI rehab! All of his clothes/shoes have disappeared. We got two duffles back with one sweat jacket back. All had his name on them. Dirty hospital, extremely poor patient care. Bathroom doors needed a washcloth in the jam, to keep the doors closed. The food is distasteful and there were flies in the serving area of the cafeteria. The milk was in a refrigerator on the patient line for meals and the temperature was set above regulations, the milk was warm. This was reported to the state health department for investigation. I would not recommend this hospital for any treatment, the caseworker went behind thr families back and discharged my grandmother to a facility that the family never agreed upon. Furthermore, never called to inform us on grandmothes discharge. They did regulate grandmothers medications, yet were very unhappy with the way business was conducted. read more

This hospital is a joke/mess when it comes to paperwork. I recently discharged from there,after being inpatient, and am having to wait to get my medication from my pharmacy because the hospital waited till the last minute to let me know my insurance went out weeks ago!So my inpatient stay seems pointless since I cant even get the medicines prescribed to me!The only good thing about my stay was that after 9 years of misdiagnosis I was properly diagnosed. Other than that i dont recommend this hospital only if its your only option. read more

I have worked at rolling hills hospital for over 20 years. I have worn many different hats, worked direct care for most of my experience at this hospital. A majority of the direct care workers are sincere, compassionate, and empathetic. For those who have not worked in a health care setting, close your eyes and imagine 20 patients gathered in an area that have dementia, behavioral disturbances, loud outbursts of rage and anger, not to mention incontinence and it is your job along with others to keep these individuals safe, clean, medicated, fed and hydrated. This job is a calling, many have attempted to work in this environment and learned that the job was too difficult, and stressful. I can only speak for direct care staff. I have had people thank me for the care that I have given as a worker at rolling hills. read more

My father was struggling with dementia, signed himself in to get on meds to help with anger, depression and aggressive behavior. Went in walking talking, eating drinking, able to do most things for his physical care. In 5 weeks he could not walk, was not talking, eat on his own, was incontinent, and had lost up to 35 pounds. THIS did not happen overnight but over a course of 5 weeks in a locked unit in this hospital...Upon instance of my sister he was released to go back to assisted living and died within a few hours of getting there. He was thin frail and completely dehydrated with the roof of his mouth lined with black scum which I have been told by another doctor was because he had been dehydrated for a period of time. I have requested by phone that the social worker at the hospital contact me so that I could understand what care he received better and was told that person would call me (tried twice) but was also referred to the hospital's risk manager....why would they refer me to this person????....this person has not returned messages either. I have left a private message for them thru Facebook and had no response. Until this point I have not wanted to pursue legal recourse but wince I can not get a response will begin the search for an appropriate attorney... read more

My Mom was in this hospital for a couple of weeks in November 2010. The staff that I interacted with were very nice and caring. However, I never met or talked with a doctor about her treatment. All communication about her treatment was through a nurse or the social worker. Rather than change her medication one at a time to see which one was causing her the problem he changed them all at once. She is now worse than she was before she went in. I would never put my Mom here again for treatment. read more
