I was really disappointed with my experience at Thyme & Dough. Per my confirmed order ticket, I arrived and placed my order at 9:13 a.m. I ordered two breakfast sandwiches and two iced coffees, and my total came to $42.80, including a 20% tip. After waiting over 20 minutes without any update, I asked around 9:34 a.m. how much longer my order would take. Instead of simply apologizing or providing an update, the employee checked my payment time and told me that the wait was "right on target" for a good breakfast. When I politely expressed that the wait seemed excessive for what I had ordered, she reiterated that this was normal and that good food takes time to prepare. I didn't feel those comments were necessary--they made me feel dismissed rather than understood. She also stated there had been a long line ahead of us, which wasn't accurate. When I arrived at 9:13, there was only one customer finishing her order at the register. I finally received my food at approximately 9:38 a.m. While I understand that fresh food takes time, a 25-minute wait for two breakfast sandwiches and two iced coffees, especially with no proactive communication, felt excessive. A simple acknowledgment of the delay or a more empathetic response would have made a significant difference. Instead, I left feeling that my concerns were brushed aside. Between the lengthy wait, the dismissive interaction, and the overall experience, I didn't feel the service justified the price or the 20% tip that was included in my purchase. This place definitely has a small town café-bakery vibe to it. You have to meander your way through the restaurant to order and find seating, but the vibe and decor was fun and the service was good. You can park behind the restaurant in their parking lot or on the street. Surprisingly a lot of fresh baked items to choose from, and the cookies looked great. Food wise, everything was great. The heated ham ring breakfast sandwich was very tasty- the French bread used on it was wonderful. The green chilies added just a little kick to it. Stopped in after leaving Pedernales Falls State Park. The staff was so helpful and accommodating to someone who was very overwhelmed by all the yummy choices on offer. Right on 290 next to Pig Pen bbq you'll find this rustic little coffee shop. Obviously it's a very popular spot to stop with over 500 reviews. The prices are surprisingly reasonable and the quality of the pastry goods and coffee makes it worth coming to. In other words, they seem to have the right formula working for them. There's a fair amount of seating inside, but even more outside under the awning. There are two unisex bathrooms and even some games that you can use. Variety of drinks from flavoed teas,, soft drinks, and even wines by the glass. The menu photos below will let you know what kind of sandwiches and salads they serve. It was crispy lean but not dry. Seriously I wish I knew where they get their bacon from so I can buy it lol! The pesto lacked the pack of pesto flavor and a personally think more pesto could have been put in the sandwich to pack a punch. First time visitor with several girlfriends on a Friday afternoon. It was fantastic. We were a large group, and all gave separate orders, but they handled it beautifully. Found this gem while spending a few days in Dripping Springs for a friends wedding. We were on the hunt for a caffeine fix to kick off the festivities and this was it! Let's start with how cute this place is. The converted house has everything one could want from a coffee shop/cafe vibe. With indoor and outdoor space you can find a hideaway to get to business or common space for your group or even to make a new friend. The coffee -- you can tell the barista really cares about her craft. She hand delivered our coffees and asked for feedback. My friend ordered a coffee with a kick and the barista genuinely cared that she had made it to my friend's liking. The effort was greatly appreciated. Food -- I wasn't ready for food yet but my friend enjoyed her breakfast sandwich. There were quite an array of pastries/baked good, warm and light bites to offer. Would have loved to explore the menu if we had more time in the area. Pretty decent amount of parking on at least two sides of the building. Definitely recommend stopping by! read more

I would like to preface this review by saying we have been weekly customers for over 2 years since moving here. However: Extremely disappointed with our holiday pie order. I placed the order by email a couple weeks in advance and was told that someone would contact me for payment. No one did, and I called twice before someone actually took payment over the phone. She totaled it wrong when I questioned the high amount, then recalculated and came up with the right price. I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip for the bakers, I said I would leave a cash tip when I picked up the pies. Apparently she didn't understand that, because when I came to pick up there was already a 25% tip added on, which I thought was rude. Every single pie (we ordered 4) had the driest crust and was hard to cut, even with a sharp kitchen knife. I ordered pies because I was on a tight time crunch with a lot of guests and thought it would save time. Hardly anyone took more than a couple bites and it was very embarrassing because I had hyped up the local bakery so much. They were pricey and not worth it at all. Every interaction with the bakery from the time of order to pick up was terrible. We are so burnt on this experience that we won't be coming back here during the rest of the year anymore. First and foremost, the food and the space was amazing. The mini-pastries and cookies were actually palm sized, two of the frittatas came out in 9x13 pans and two others in 9" pie plates. I way over ordered because I underestimated the sizes of what I did order. The pastries, cookies, cheese plate, dates, and caprese skewers were to die for. There was a great mix of gluten free options. We had a party of 28, and I don't think they were prepared for a party of that size. Nothing was out when we arrived at 9:30, the designated time, not even the coffee. The first round of food came out at 9:50, and the second round at 10:20, and that second round didn't get eaten. The guests raved about the quality of the food and the space, though. If I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely go back to this spot. This restaurant is a must when visiting Dripping Springs. This was our first time checking out the place and although I was disappointed that we missed breakfast (breakfast ends at 11am and lunch begins), the lunch was fantastic! I had the Ranchers Roast Beef on Sourdough - I'm glad I made that choice. The sandwich wasn't dry at all and the flavors worked well together. My wife got the Two Step Grilled Chicken sandwich and that was great too. It actually had a bit of a kick to it. For dessert, she had an almond croissant and I had the Cadillac Cookie (chef's kiss). Anytime we need to eat in dripping Springs, this is my family's go to spot! They have lots of great vegetarian and even some vegan options. Their coffee and drinks are spectacular and their pastry selection is outstanding. It is all fresh and homemade in the staff are incredibly friendly. It does take a while since so much of it is made to order so be prepared to wait for some great food. The ambience is awesome because most of the seating is outside and covered and it's beautifully decorated with lots of plants and lots of shade. Ambience is frozen in Austin 1968. An old house, eclectic furnishings and decor. Service always friendly, solicitous and prompt. Tonight we had Bella - sweet and cheerful. Two entrees for us tonight. My lamb shank was superb. Slow cooked with a crisp crust and an ocean of jus. Carrots and zucchini cooked along with it. Texture was fork-able tender and savory. The jus kept it moist. My companion, who hates lamb, said she'd eat this. She had crab cakes and herbed corn on the cob. The cakes were fine with a remoulade that kept them moist. The herbed corn was the only disappointment- not much herb flavor and a bit tough. Dessert was peach cobbler from fresh fruit with vanilla ice cream. Richly sweet and a dough-on-top-and-bottom preparation. I like crust! OMG. I refuse hyperbole, but . . . dang that's good. The wine list is short but well thought out. Same for the beers. If you're a local or interested, sign up with RTD. Bistro Night is worth your while. If you're not from here but here on one of those Thursdays, try to make it. They cook a little extra. read more

I came to eat here with my parents and they absolutely love this place. Between us, we ordered the happy gardener, ranchers roast beef, Texas two step, a vegetarian soup, a hearty soup coffee and some baklava. The baklava was outstanding! Their coffee was pretty good too. No complaints there. However, I found their sandwiches to be a bit on the plain side. There was not as much flavor as I was hoping for. The ingredients all tasted fresh though! Also, I think we must have caught an off day with the soups. My parents have eaten here many times, but the soups we ordered were not up to standard. The atmosphere was great! We sat outside and it really has the feel of sitting on your friends back patio. It was quite nice. The menu is simple, I ordered the Jerome Stack (slice of buttered sourdough toast, crispy bacon, a mix of 3 cheeses (provolone, goat cheese and swiss) spinach, {removed the mushrooms} and two over easy eggs all topped with red salsa) and it was simple but delicious, all quality ingredients, on fresh baked sourdough bread? Can't go wrong! My mom ordered eggs with Turkey bacon. We both ordered chai lattes, one hot and one cold, both delicious. There's seating indoors and outdoors, there's a full blown bakery inside with gluten free options (major bonus), and they even sold homemade dog treats (I would have bought some but they have to be refrigerated). I will say when we parked and started walking towards the entrance I thought what a dump. Actually I bet in the spring this place is beautiful. This is quite the different coffee shop and bakery. This is order at the counter service and they serve your drinks and bring your food to your table. I ordered a cold brew and my husband a coffee! There were several different brews to chose from. This cute little spot appears to be a converted house. It was hopping, but not overcrowded. We had the Jerome stock, which was an open face sandwich with yummy veggies cheeses on top of artisan bread. I have a chipotle, breakfast sandwich and switched out scrambled eggs for over medium. It was so delicious all of the flavors were perfect blends. There were six different kinds of coffee to choose from not to mention a barista making specialty coffees. They had a beautiful outside garden area and the inside was just as cozy. The menu was amazing and the staff was so friendly. I purchased a GF lavender brownie and it was delicious!
