Finally got to check out the new Ventura location of rolling pin. The location is huge which is nice when there's a line you can be inside versus the cam location where you are outside in the elements, on a cold winter evening when a craving hits that's a plus. There are seats inside and outside on a patio where you can enjoy the treats. They had tons of options freshly made, I will say for a place that was glorified for the cronut they only had a couple custard filled cronuts and no other options. I'd like more of those options to really set them above the other local donut shops. All in all a fantastic shop, tons of options and great service! read more

This place was a lot bigger than I expected. Especially compared to the original location. The inside's aesthetic is classic donut diner. During October they have an orange glazed that is my favorite. I called ahead to make sure they had them. Staff were nice when we got there and ordered. My family and I sat down inside and enjoyed our donuts during a nice Sunday morning. Glad to Rolling Pins donut shop closer to home. read more

They had the ever beloved chocolate croissants!!! 1000 times better than st@rbucks or coffee bean+!! Their jalapeno, ham, and cheese croissants are better than any of those places too! Sweet or savory, this is my go to place!! I'd make the drive to their Camarillo location but I'm just happy they are now in ventura too! This review is of the opening day experience and was a soft opening. I love Rolling Pin Donuts and have been to the Camarillo location several times, so I was looking forward to their opening here. Due to the soft opening, they had only a few products, but that was enough for me since I can only eat a little. The cashier lady also said that they sold all the items once in the morning, so I was lucky if I only had a few items. I tried the original and maple donuts. I already knew they tasted good, and they were also delicious in this location. They were large, fluffy donuts, and I ate two at once. I would have liked to try cronuts if they were on sale, but unfortunately, they weren't, so I'll try them next time I get a chance. Another thing that makes me happy is that this store is next to my favorite, Pincha Boba. You all know that my diet won't work, lol . The store is located near Winco and Dollar Tree, so it's an excellent place to grab a donut while shopping. There are plenty of parking spaces, but depending on the time of day, it can get very crowded, so you may have to park a little further away. read more

Pretty good donuts! Way over rated IMO but still pretty good. Customer service is pretty hit or miss and the store is kept clean. They run out of a lot of donuts so that's kind of annoying sometimes. Overall just ok value wise. read more

Ok-- much needed break from the cazy world as it is... ROLLING PIN donuts in Ventura had a chocolate chip croissant (cronut) that was amazing!! They stopped making it for a while so I was forced to go to CBTL for a mediocre version of it then even Strbcks had a similarly mediocre version of it-- well, I just happened to stroll in for Rolling Pin's palate satisfying ham, cheese, jalapeño croissants to discover they had started making CHOCOLATE CRONUTS again!!! SO I GOT BOTH!! (plus some others!! ) By far better than CBTL and Strbcks combined!! I hope they make these forever!!! Tried the new location today, and had high expectations based on what I've heard of the Camarillo location! Unfortunately, we were sorely disappointed. We got an old fashioned, an apple fritter, and a cinnamon roll. The overwhelming flavor was that of old, dirty oil. It was clear that the flavor would've been excellent, otherwise, so I hope to have a better experience in the future. I've been going to the Camarillo location for years, never disappointed! The best doughnuts around. Then yesterday I tried the Ventura location. I bought two dozen. I was extremely disappointed with the quality. Definitely not fresh! all 24 doughnuts were borderline stale. Unfortunately not the highlight of my party. I will keep going to the Camarillo location but ventura, you lost my business. My advice is keep your product fresh. There are other options in town with fresh doughnuts all day but they aren't rolling pin doughnuts!!! Live up to your great standard and keep making great doughnuts. Keep them fresh. read more

Told her it was our first time in and she was so sweet and I got my daughter a donut (she said it was the best she's ever had) and a chocolate milk. The sweet girl even asked me if I wanted something or if I liked chocolate. And Gave me a chocolate cake donut and said here for mama and that truly made my day. Went on a Tuesday (Sep3) at 4pm. Lots of donuts, no tray completely empty, lots of employees, and the only customers ahead of me were one in line and two already at the counters. I was up in less than 5 minutes. I had what seemed to be a newer cashier with a more experienced guy at his elbow. I liked that. I hate when a cashier has to stop and wait for help because they left him alone too early. I had never been there before, so I had some donut questions. All were answered with smiles. Very good customer service. My usual is a Blueberry Crumble at Missy's Donuts on the Eastside (it is life changing) and I never had a Cronut, let alone a Custard Cronut, so I got one of each. The Blueberry Crumble was good, BUT the one at Missy's is bigger, has more crumb and icing on it and is just better. I knew it would be hard to beat, so no shock there. I reluctantly gave the Custard Cronut to my daughter who is crazy for anything with Custard or Cream in it. I didn't have to ask how it was, it got evaporated without the usual last bite still on the plate. She said the custard was better than Crispy Crème. Prices were least expensive for cake donuts, like the Blueberry Crumble, so it was only $1.60. Meanwhile, the Custard Cronut was the most expensive donut at $5! I need to try their 3x bigger Jumbo Donut at $4.85. I'll bring it as desert next time I need to bring something depending on how big it is. The order ahead Giant Donut at Master's (used to be $10, not sure now) is impressively huge and good looking with chocolate icing and sprinkles on top, and with a better tasting donut mixture than the regular donuts there, super good, but it is too big unless you have a large group. I noticed Rolling Pin has a comparable 8" donut, for $13, that they call the Birthday Special, but it may be too big as well. I will definitely be back. I'd like to get the Jumbo donut to check the size, and try a Cronut finally! read more
