What a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! Why open the doors to the public if you're not ready for customer demand? I went to the new Rolling Pin in Ventura today 8/30 at 10:15am. The store was clean and there was a line of about 10 families. Now hear this... ONLY 4 trays of donuts. Chocolate cake with peanuts, Chocolate cake with Coconut, regular glazed and one other. Really????? That's it? I was sent here by my work to purchase 2 dozens for our office and walked out with nothing. TERRIBLE. read more

So great!!! The donuts are really fresh and tasty! They also have really great coffee! Took my 94 year old dad in and they were really great he wanted to taste them and they have a tray of donuts to taste. He had a good time. Like a kid in a candy store. What a nice experience at the Ventura Rolling Pins. The selection was large and each donut we had were fresh and delicious. The donuts weren't oily and weren't overly sweet. We sampled different styles from traditional, filled, and old fashioned. We will definitely be returning for special treats. read more

Cute place and pretty spacious inside but that doesn't make up for the horrible experience I had today and I definitely will not be going back here. I Went there around 1 today and there were not a lot of donuts left to even pick from. If you know you were going to be opened until midnight you should've made sure you had a variety of donuts throughout the whole day. You definitely lost a lot of business because of that. Aside from that, waiting 15 minutes for 1 churro when the place wasn't even busy is ridiculous and not once did they even apologize for the wait. P.S. the churro was hard! Not what they used to be. Someone seems to have taken over and ruined what was once great. The donuts are no longer crispy and light. They are larger, greasier, denser, and sweeter with icing caked on top. Taking everything to 11 isn't always the answer. The glaze and oil meld to make a matte finish epic mess. Take me back the old Camarillo location of 5 years ago when the donuts were always fresh and light. The ladies working there are a delight. Very helpful and courteous. The donut I had was just okay, nothing great and the coffee was horrible. It tasted like it was burnt and had been in the pot way too long. I was surprised when I walked in a saw this very large area with only a few tables and nothing to break up the boredom of the space. A few plants and possibly some table and chairs that don't belong on a patio would be a huge help. Will I come back or recommend this place? Probably not to both. read more

This donut shop is definitely in a great location! I stopped in this morning (09/06/24) around 9:30am. When I walked in, there were 10 individuals in line. I went to the end of the line and started checking out the inside of the facility. It is clean, bright, cutely decorated and very roomy for a donut shop. Their donut cases were all fully stocked with a plethora of amazing looking donuts, cinnamon rolls and croissants.There were ONLY two young ladies assisting the patrons. I stood in line for at least 15 minutes before it was my turn. When I looked back at the line, it had grown to about 20-25 people. I mentioned to the young lady, who was very sweet and pleasant, that both her and the other employee must be stressed being the only two working the counter. She mentioned they were short staffed but, she maintained the positive attitude with a smile on her face...GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! About the donut I bought: I am a "jelly filled" donut snob and always looking for a donut shop that makes the best jelly filled donut. The only donut shop I have found that makes the BEST jelly donuts in Ventura County is Citrus Donuts off of Wells Rd. I was hoping that Rolling Pin Donuts would be just as good. Unfortunately and very interestingly, it was mostly donut and hardly any jelly at all, which was so disappointing! The jelly should be plentiful in these types of donuts and when you bite into it, it should be spilling out. I am hoping management sees this review and 1) gets those ladies some help so they do not quit, 2) gets the lead or manager themself out to help when they are short staffed...this goes a long way with your staff and patrons, 3) Fill those jelly donuts up like they should be (perhaps visit Citrus Donuts to see how they should be made). First time in we loved the crullers with cream, went back, not available, went back again still not available. "Come back in a few hours we will have them", came back still not available, but "will in 10 minutes have non cream filled ones". They said they sell out fast, so my question why not make more? Maybe they have them in Camarillo? But this store doesn't seem to care about making things customers want or buy a lot of, since they sell out fast. A big disappointment this store. read more

I didn't see any cake-style doughnuts, some interesting styles but these doughnuts are expensive! Staff needs better training to move the line along...staff, you need to remember what the customer told you...if you can't remember 1 or 2 items in succession then don't expect a tip, I get irritated when you ask the same question 3 times because you can't remember one thing. read more
