My horse came directly off the track to this facility. She was anxious as she just moved across the country and was in a new place. She was turned out in their quarantine lot that was a small but safe area with white vinyl fencing, and she was doing well all things considered. I had requested to one of the managers to please let her stay in the quarantine lot to decompress for a couple of days until I could get her feet done. I figured this would not turn into an issue as a typical quarantine period when bringing in new horses is at least 2 weeks, and this manager assured me she would make sure she stayed put. I also requested that I be included with introducing her to a pasture as she has never been turned out in a pasture before with wire fencing, which is all this property has besides 1 or 2 pastures that have different fencing. The next morning, not even 12 hours later, I received a phone call stating that my horse had been turned out with a herd, against my wishes, and had gone through multiple fences and sustained a large laceration to her leg. At the time, it appeared to be just a laceration which would heal with time. But a year later, I am still receiving veterinary care due to bone involvement and my horse is still lame, with a poor prognosis. This is not the only major injury a horse sustained in my very short time at this facility. Another horse shattered her cannon bone due to her being turned with a horse she was known to not get along with, per the barn owner's instructions. Keep in mind, I was at this boarding facility for less than 2 months. In addition to multiple major ending injuries, the quality of care is very poor. The horses are often lacking hay and water even in the winter months. I was always the one providing hay and water to my own horse when I was paying for her to be cared for. Barn staff will skip feedings if the farm equipment fails and they have to walk to the upper pastures to feed. Gates to pastures are often left unlatched. Many of the horses are underweight and unhealthy. Water buckets and troughs rarely get cleaned out, resulting in algae and nasty black water they expect the horses to drink. Horses also are often getting moved around into various pastures depending on the day, which is just asking for more accidents to happen. The facility is in a flood zone, resulting in very wet conditions. A majority of the horses here deal with hoof abscesses and lameness due to the fact their feet can never dry out. Lastly, management talks very poorly about their boarders. As a horse owner, I know these boarders just want quality care for their horses and are getting upset that they are not receiving said care. The barn owner, her mother, and various management would often complain and do things against owners wishes. They complain when owners request round bales be put in the pastures because their horses are hungry and there is not food in the pastures. They complain when owners are upset that their horses are shivering because they are wet and cold and not being blanketed appropriately. They do not like their boarders and make it very clear to those around them. I have given them over a year to make things right with me which they have been unable to do. They keep beating around the bush and will not just own up and take responsibility. Do not come here if you care about your horses.

They met us upon arrival and were so friendly. Kristin walked my daughter through her first driving lesson step by step. Being an accomplished equestrian, my daughter knew about riding, but nothing about driving. At the end of the first lesson, she was navigating the arena all by herself and had such a sense of confidence. We will definitely be back and encourage you to check this place out for lessons for you or your kids. They host some summer camps for young kids which sound amazing.

I love how they're giving our youth things to do, actual things that bring benefit to the youth. The set up in there is so very inviting and the staff seemed to enjoy their jobs. It was created when the Chickamauga Dam, as part of the Tennessee Valley Authority, was completed in 1940. The lake meanders from Watts Bar Dam to Chickamauga Dam. The lake is 58.9 miles long. It borders Rhea County, Meigs County, and Hamilton County with 810 miles of shoreline. Two bridges cross the lake. One is at State Highway 60 and the other is at Highway 30. It was named after the Chickamauga Cherokee who used to live in the area. I don't fish; I just observe fishermen who are on the docks. Sometimes they like to chat about what they've caught, especially when it's striped bass.

It boasts a spread of venue buildings, picnic shelters, pickleball courts, and two fantastic parks: the Imagination Station Playground and the Little Debbie Park. According to their website, The Commons happily hosts everything from bridal showers, weddings, and birthday parties to festivals and farmer's markets! They offer some lovely options for any event with not too shabby rental rates We've enjoyed visiting with our dog for a picnic and walking. It is a very clean and pet friendly complex. It's spacious, offers covered pavilions, walking paths, and multiple restrooms. The grounds are well maintained with plenty of parking, too. We look forward to returning for photos with the larger than life Little Debbie treat replicas at the Little Debbie Park!

It's a nice shaded pavilion with plenty of space to fit a good number of people in. The bathrooms are tidy and up to date which is nice for a park type of bathroom. Plenty of parking around the area which is also a plus.

They had JUST repaved the parking lot where you park to use both the amazing park and it's splash pad and pool. Mid-May, there were workers getting the pool prepped for opening day. There are bathrooms, water fountains, picnic tables, some grassy areas, a playground for toddlers and a separate area for the kids 5+. There is even a really neat zipline. We were happy to find this sizable and well-maintained park. Our kids are still asking about it a week later.

Going white water rafting with my family for my birthday was everything I could have hoped for…read more.. and more! Our guide, Spencer, was incredibly skilled as he could have navigated blindfolded... yes, he's that good! Spencer was also an absolute blast to surf the river with... very friendly, knowledgable and well-traveled... he had plenty of amusing stories to share and kept us all very engaged. I should also mention that Spencer was also seriously great at gaging our comfort level vs. our spirit of adventure... therefore, he was able to navigate us down various paths of the river making it challenging and thrilling for us! While there are plenty of white water outfitters to pick from, we intentionally picked a smaller outfitter and we were so glad we did... we felt our experience was more personal, less generic, and seriously less crowded! I only wished I had sat in the front of the boat where the photographer was situated... that would have made a fantastic birthday photo. The only other "disappointment" was that Cascade Outdoors advertised about their HOT SHOWERS which was super important to us and was one of the main reasons we chose Cascade Outdoors... but there was NO hot water available and the lack of being able to take a good shower after the rafting trip did impede on our other plans. Other than that, Cascade Outdoors and our guide, Spencer, offered us a fabulously fun white water experience on the Ocoee River! We can't wait to return!!! :)
