Tried the Vienna location first from a Yelp Elite event. Really enjoyed my time and decided to stop by for breakfast! I got a McLovin (Sasuage, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit), a New Orleans style coffee, a slice of PB Nutella Pie, and two cookies: one Oreo in a blanket and the other a PB Cup in a Blanket (which are basically chocolate chip cookies with an Oreo and PB Cup inside of them). I've had the pie and coffee before and loved. But the other items are new. I'll start with the McLovin: it's incredible! All the flavors work together nicely. The buttermilk biscuit is nice and fluffy and the sausage is well seasoned and egg was cooked to perfection with some melty cheese! The PB Cup in and blanket was yummy too! A stagger advised I heat it ijnthe microwave for 10 seconds and it was so gooey! The Oreo in a Blanket was also great! I really enjoy Bakeshop and I'm so glad I live really close to one! For my birthday, my sister asked me what kind of cake I wanted and I was really in the mood for a strawberry cake. I did some googling came across Bakeshop and sent her the link. I think she was a little surprised that the smallest cake was $55 but she wanted me to have what I wanted and she ordered one. I could not be more disappointed. The cake is very dry and honestly not good. For $55 I was shocked. I'm sorry, I wanted to write a raving review and be a longtime customer for all of the birthday cakes in my five person household going forward, but I will never recommend Bakeshop to anyone and I will never be back. I could've made a better cake from a Betty Crocker mix from the grocery store and we would've enjoyed that cake so much more. This place is okay. I've had a cookie, biscuit, and cupcake from here. They're fine. Cupcakes are great for easy-to-please kids. The browned butter chocolate chip cookie was very flat and left much to be desired. The cheddar biscuit was dry AF and lacked flavor. I do recommend buying a shirt if you are a regular. Cute shop filled with lots of treats! Order at the counter and they offer some seating to enjoy as well. Went there to purchase some vegan cookies for one of my colleagues. They had a great selection and each cookie is wrapped individually. I bought 5 and will report back after they try them. Went inside and it was a lot busier than I remember from Covid days -- happy to see the business is thriving! Long line and super busy, but we were leading up to Thanksgiving so that was expected Unfortunately since Covid days, I developed a pretty strong intolerance to gluten. I'm grateful that though there weren't many options, they marked clearly what is gluten free. Few brownies and mostly all macarons were gluten free. We picked up a mint frosted gluten free brownie. It was on the higher side for pricing at around $7 after tax and tip, but it was still pretty good. Definitely more of a once in a while treat than a weekly thing, especially how rich the brownie was. Not too much seating if I remember any, and it's a little packed to comfortably eat anyway. More of a take away place than a sit down bakery. I recommend giving them a try if you're in the area! They also have a Georgetown location if that's more local to you. read more

While the galore of baked goods are appetizing and alluring, they are dry and stale. The cookies/bars aren't that fresh and can be up to 1 week old. Both times (2019 and 2024), I got a Oreo in a Blanket (Oreo stuffed cooke), the cookie was stale and a disappointment. The Brookie with Brownie Batter was brittle and also didn't taste fresh. The Samoa Bar was my pick and similar to a Carmelita and coconuty Twix bar. The Lavendar Lemonade was refreshing and delicious! I ordered a custom deep dish cookie cake for my birthday a few years ago, and sadly it was pretty dry with crusty buttercream frosting and not worth $25. After taking a few bites, I threw away the cake. The $90 Xtreme Cookie Dough cake looks amazing, but I'm apprehensive to order it based on my past experiences and similar Yelp reviews on dry cakes. My friends and I were on our way to another bakery when we walked past Bakeshop- we didn't think much of as it was a small and cozy shop; but I am so glad we tried it. NEAR PERFECT PIE!! I ordered a Snickerdoodle and Key Lime Pie slice through Uber Eats. They ended up giving me a sugar cookie which was good. The key lime pie was near perfect in my opinion. It had the perfect amount of crust, the filling wasn't too sweet or tart (if it was a touch tarter I'd call it perfect), and it had whipped cream which I prefer over meringue. Love this place! It's one of my go to places for cupcakes in the area. The other is Baked and Wired but this one is easier to get to. There are a lot of options from cupcakes to macarons to cake slices to cookies and more. Also they offer vegan versions of most cupcake flavors which is amazing because it's hard to find tasty vegan treats for my friends who subscribe to that kind of dietary restrictions. Also the staff is really friendly. It can be hard to hear when there are a few people in there trying to order. The acoustics are not great so then you have to yell and everyone is yelling but like in a friendly way lol. They're pretty quick and if there's a line it's usually because the customers are having a hard time deciding which of the yummy treats to get...and fighting themselves from buying everything. This place is also next door to a chocolate shop I really like as well. It's not a cheap one so think gourmet...or artisan since that's what they call themselves. You can easily pop from one to the other. Anyways, I highly recommend this place even if the door is super heavy and hard to open...I get a workout each time but you get greeted by friendly people, service, and delicious smells. I've been here many times and plan to keep coming back. I hope they don't move though they could use a bigger place. We had the cupcakes only and they were very dry. The equivalent of cupcakes that have been left out on the counter for days without a cover. I could only trying one bite because it did not taste good. We got six different varieties and one of the chocolates was marginally better than the others but not by much. The frosting tasted like nothing - it was not sweet, or buttery, or flavorful. It tasted like what a crisco based frosting would taste like. The macaron was the right texture and very accurately birthday cake flavored. It also didn't taste like food coloring (which is often the issue I run into with macarons in the US). The oatmeal cream pie has a great hint of cinnamon, very soft cookies, and the right amount of a light cream center that really pulls together perfectly.
