    Honey Cake

There are many unique pastries and cakes here. We had the famous honey cake, and it's easy to see why it's popular. I also got one of the paklavas (baklava) and the server gave us an extra piece for free, which was a nice treat. If you're bored of walnut baklava and want to try something new, come here. The prices are very low considering the area.

It's my third visit here and decided to try something savory. The beef sausage roll hit the spot. Pastry was flaky and the sausage was made from beef. Basically a beef hot dog with a lovely pastry wrap. Additionally I sampled some traditional tea. It was deep dark and delicious. Perfect with my dessert. The server was super friendly and kind. Very much felt welcome here. Next time I will try their grape leaves. Another customer had these and they looked delicious!!

Sharbat is homey. It's perfect for a special treat, a savory meal, or your favorite desired hot beverage. I couldn't decide so I ordered all three: a London fog, a warm dumpling soup, and a slice of the famous honey cake. On a windy, grey day, this was the perfect half-way stop during an east coast road trip. Parking is street only, but it's a very short walk from the Metro, and there are a few surrounding parking garages (though expensive). The staff was kind, and I left with several boxes of goodies to get me through the next few days.

An expansion of a place that originated in Adams Morgan, this location finds itself near the Alexandria metro. They have a selection of cafe fare, though I was unclear on whether or not vegetarian grape leaves were available as they appeared on some iterations of the menu but not others. As a bakery, they had a small but mouthwatering selection. The cake slices I bought disappeared without me getting a taste, but I am confident that they were delicious.

Came here for dessert and coffee after happy hour. It's a very cute cafe- so sad that there weren't many people there. Their pastries looked amazing but we got the Dubai Chocolate Cake and Nutella Latte. The Nutella latte was good but I was a little disappointed in the Dubai chocolate cake's texture-- thinking it would have some crunch. It was slightly difficult ordering but the staff member was nice- said it was her first day though.

Kind service, pastries were yummy and different. Quaint little cafe - a little pricey but I expected it from Alexandria and since it is a mom and pop patisserie shop.

We got the gurza and beef sausage roll- kind of reminds me of hotdog buns from Hong Kong bakeries but more flaky texture. Both were delicious! The atmosphere is quiet with nice French cafe music in the background. The seating is nice. And the staff gave us free tea and cake slices at the end on the house! It was nice to stop by on a rainy day in Alexandria.

Excellent ethnic bakery that specializes on pastries from the region of the world immediately south of Russia. there are a nice selection of very well made pastries this business sells, both savory and sweet, that are absolutely delicious. For our first visit here we had their Raisin Cranberry Cookie (more like a scone) and Pistachio Pakhlva (like Baklava). Both deserts were very well made and oh so tasty. Our deserts were washed down with their house coffee, Capucinno and a latte that were full bodied coffee drinks that were excellent in their own right. Relative to the facility it is clean and bright inside with a limited number of indoor tables offering you the option of eating there or taking it to go. Staff was super friendly and offered a free sample of their Baklava to entice you to buy their desserts where it worked in my case (:. Overall an excellent dessert business that needs to be sampled to be appreciated. The five star rating in Yelp seems well deserved in my opinion where If you try a sample you will be hard pressed to walk away from this business without buying one of their pastries!

    The beef and cheese Khachapuri

I waited for this place to open for months, and it did not disappoint. We came here for brunch and ordered the Beef Khachapuri, Chicken Borek, Cheese Khachapuri, and a slice of Napoleon. I asked the staff to warm up all but the Napoleon and they kindly did. All delicious - cheese was the tastiest, followed by the beef, and the chicken which was the healthier option among them. I'll be back soon for the honey cake! There were a few Russian speakers in the cafe enjoying tea but overall quiet and not busy, casual, and laid back. A great place to read a book and enjoy a cup of coffee. FYI - they were out of drip coffee so we got an Americano. Also, be careful with the hours. I have passed by at 8 AM and they were closed.

We almost walked by this bakery, but I'm so glad we stopped in! They had a great variety of pastries as well as a food menu. We just tried some of the pastries though. The pakhlava was delicious! So flaky and flavorful. I preferred the pistachio over the Nutella, but Nutella isn't really my favorite in general. The honey cake stole the show! The sweet honey and layers of cream between flaky layers were decadent. The raspberry drizzle elevated it even more. It's easily one of my favorite desserts that I've ever had. Don't miss out on this amazing bakery on your visit to Old Town!

Outstanding unique sweet and savory patties and good coffees. Pastry cuisine ranges from middle eastern to west Asian. Exceptionally pleasant service. Ample seating. Strongly recommend.

Cozy café with a variety of savory and sweet pastries, coffee, tea and specialty drinks. They also serve breakfast with omelets and avocado toasts, among other offerings. Their main dishes include rice dishes, dumplings and wraps. I had a slice of the popular honey cake which was lightly sweet and tasty. I appreciated the friendly and efficient service. Will return with friends.

Either way I just found Lily's Chocolate & Coffee while venturing up and down King Street, and well with the help of Yelp because this was a plan to visit later in October. But, I decided my kiddos needed a treat. Located on a corner you walk into hues of pink, florals and the smell of chocolate and coffee. I became immediately distracted by the toppings and melted chocolate. But, when I snapped out of it, I was able to place my order. I opted for the Dubai chocolate inspiration over strawberries. If I remember correctly it was around $20 five or take. The cafe is so cute. It is small and if crowded be prepared to navigate that. There is bathrooms inside but, I do not know if it is for customers or not, as they were locked when we were there. The staff were just starting for the day. But they were helpful, kind and ready to roll. Once we received our order we sat down and dug right in. The strawberries were fresh, large and draped over in chocolate, pistachio cream and katifia. This is not my first time having Dubai chocolate or Dubai inspired chocolate. I thoroughly enjoy it over strawberries. There is just something about chocolate ad strawberries. Overall a wonderful place. I highly recommend visiting

The kind where one cookie can easily be shared (or not lol ). They're rich and sweet, so if you're someone who loves a heavy dessert that feels like a treat-treat, you'll be in heaven. Easily a 10/10 for that category. What really stood out to me was the variety of flavors. I tried the strawberry matcha cookie and was honestly surprised by how much I liked it. It had a really nice balance of flavors and didn't feel gimmicky at all. It's always a risk trying something a little different, but this one definitely paid off. Another thing I appreciated was that they had a section of cookies discounted because they were made the night before. I love when places do this...it's a great way to try more flavors without spending a lot, and honestly, the cookies were still really good. Service-wise, the cashier was super helpful and patient, especially when it came to explaining flavors and giving recommendations. That always makes a difference when you're staring at a case full of options and can't decide.
