As a runner, I was suffering from piriformis syndrome for about 9 months. I sought treatment from my orthopedic doctor (steroids) and physical therapy. Nothing seemed to help make the pain disappear. These reviews are true. Dr. Stinson is a great chiro. I was having some lower back pain, and he helped heal me with adjustments/this exercise program he gave to me. It took a few weeks for me to heal, but he was great. I also love that he's not all about the hard sell--something you'll see in other offices. After the first adjustment, I actually felt worse, but felt a ton of relief a day or two afterwards. And if you've got your doubts, he can address those too. I moved to Burke about a year ago. Got hurt and I needed a back doctor and was lucky enough to find this practice. Professional from the get go...When I went in I had a pinched nerve down my leg and Dr. Stinson identified the issue and set me on a path to pain freedom. He explained things completely and let me know he was not a miracle worker, but would work with me over time to get my issues corrected. Right away from the first visit I knew I was in good hands and got some immediate relief, but I followed his plan of working on my own along with visits to the office to get my back back aligned. I began to see Dr. Stinson at RVCC after an episode of back pain with sciatica. My physician had been prescribed medication, and Dr. Stinson used conservative techniques which did enable great improvement over a period of a few months. Within a year, i had another flare up, with more significant pain (back pain, hip pain, and sciatica) and again returned to Dr. Stinson. This time he used the DRX (spinal decompression) machine. Right after the first treatment, i was in great pain but by the next morning, I experienced much improvement and was able to move so much more with little discomfort. I did about seven weeks of twice weekly DRX treatments and was remarkably improved, with now minimal pain and I returned to my usual household and work routine and even my spin classes. Even after stopping the DRX treatments, keeping up with some back exercises and periodic chiropractic follow-up,, I am continuing to improve in my ability to exercise more and feel little to no discomfort, back pain, hip pain or sciatica. Dr. Stinson is certainly expert in chiropractic treatment but he is also a caring, gentle practitioner and a wise counselor regarding back issues.
