My kids had the time of their lives (toddler and preschool age)... perfect for kids. We came for a birthday party, which was awesome - you can set up your own space and bring your own food. Great for groups. It was so big we didn't even explore the whole place! Outdoor space too (wish they had a pool outdoors). There's a line if you come in the afternoon. Areas of needed improvement: -airflow needs to improve... the air in there is so gross and it's so chlorinated my eyes were burning so badly. I wish it were open air. Having some doors open wasn't enough. It was SO HOT and stuffy. -they do "adult swim" every 15 mins of the hour, which seems silly about pool that is literally for small children. -multiple areas closed off -they keep the door locked and only let you in small groups at a time (feels excessive when it's almost 100 degrees outside). Overall good but I wouldn't come back to this place without some of these areas of improvement being fixed...Particularly the airflow, my eyes still hurt. read more

We went today with our two young children. The lifeguards were attentive and followed the rules. I as a parent really appreciated this...swimming pools can be dangerous so I was grateful that they were doing their jobs. We stayed until they closed for the day. The lifeguards were mopping the locker rooms and lobby. Again I appreciated this to ensure the grounds were clean and sanitary. We will definitely return. Great job! This is a nice pool. How ever parents do not send your children to the bathroom alone!! This lady was showering with the curtain open. Got an attitude when I told her to close it !! No body wants to she some one else's naked big ass body or small. I had my small sons with me . They had to use the bathroom . They are very young. There is to much stuff going on in places. Not enough rules! Mandatory 15 minute break every hour? Pah, should be every 30 minutes. No photography? Better to forbid phones altogether. No sitting on the outside of the hot tub? Should just make the whole hot tub off limits. No horseplay? Should be no horses at all. No running? Try no walking. No swimming among the lily pads? Should be no swimming at all. No food? How about no water too? No brainer there. Aside from the frenzied unbound freedom of this place, it was great for kids. Overall the pool was clean and well maintained. My two stars are due to the ridiculous amount of ridiculous rules. I wanted so badly to like this place. I really did. But I can't give it more than 3 stars for some really bad issues. First and foremost, there are just too many rules. No noodles. No photography. No kids on backs. No sliding. No food. No diving. No brisk walking. No WiFi. Basically, no fun. The lifeguards are gestapo-like with their constant (and unfriendly) whistles and barked reminders of what you can't do. The pools themselves are clean and well maintained. There are a lot of slides and water features to keep your kids preoccupied, which makes this idea for a winter day when you wanna get out of the house. The price is very fair also. But there's not enough places to sit or put your belongings. The chlorine can be smelled from the parking lot (dial it down a few notches please) and it's so loud you can barely hear yourself think. And oh yeah, I saw lots of roaches here and there. Fumigate please. We will come back, if for no other reason than it's cheap and kids can run themselves ragged for hours. But this place, which could be a jewel in PG County, needs more work to make it truly exemplary. read more

This is a fun pool for kids. There are big slides, fountains, and play equipment for where kids ages 2+ can play independently. There are plenty of lifeguards and the little-kid area is well-separated from the area for bigger kids. It's kind of pricey ($5 per kid and $6 for adults--adults have to pay even if they're not swimming). There is a discount (I think $1 off) for Montgomery or PG county residents, if you can prove residency. BE WARNED: if you lose something there (i.e. goggles, towel, swimsuit) you MUST go back to find it yourself the same day. They do not keep a lost and found except for expensive things like keys and jewelry. At the end of the day, lost items are thrown away. I recently left a pair of goggles there and called to ask if they had been found. The person I spoke to said that if they found the goggles, I could come back for them the next day, but when I called the next day, I was told that everything would have been thrown out. $15 down the drain, I guess. read more

We have taken at least 6 swimming classes here for my son - now age 5, since he was 3 yrs old. The instructors have been fun and really nice --- and we have had many different ones. They usually have a team of two instructors per group, and some classes have been tiny. Most of the classes are taught by young adults, who have a fun spirit and just seem like really nice young men and women. I was pleasantly surprised by the classes and my son loved the teachers. Yes, the splash pool during free time has a lot of rules, but I can say it truly is for safety and to keep it from being mayhem. I can't imagine enduring the experience if every parent at the pool was filming and staging videos the whole time. And there are real security and privacy issues surrounding video and pics of kids. It's a public Rec facility, not a spa, so go with realistic expectations. read more

I loved this place!!! The Prince George recreational center that is 5 min from me was closed from today Friday until Monday so we drove the 20 min here. I read the reviews but I saw a play area in the pool so I figured, my baby will be happy as long as it's a pool. The front desk girl as every friendly. Change rooms seem clean. It is small if you Thu k how busy it must get on summer weekends but it's Friday so it was empty today. We loved the pool! There's many options. We went to the 3 ft one that has a beach like entrance so my 2 yr old can play and sit by the water or I can take her into the deeper water. I could see many slides for adults. Then we discovered the other side. It's pretty much a play area in the water. The water was up to my 2 yr old knees, perfect!!! Only for small kids, bigger ones not allowed which us nice because the little ones tend to be knocked to the side by bigger kids. 5 slides that fall into a cushion pad in case your child slides and can't land standing. A little island with a crocodile on the side. It was so great. I do not know why they do the water break. They turn off all the water splash and you can sit on the side and wait. I am not mad at it but trying to co Vince a 2 yr old to stay out the water is hard....We left while the break was happening. As for the rules? All of the pool places have rules so it's nothing new, if it means my child won't break a leg running I'm happy. Btw the play area, the stairs that are getting wet the material is sandy so your kids won't slip....I will definitely drive the 20 min again to come here!! read more

The pool service sucks you can not take pictures with family and friends the life guards are not friendly, I know they need customers service training. The facility is clean but that's it. The whirlpool is broken that's sucks. Coming from northern Virginia I will not come back. read more

I am still whirling from a day of thanksgiving on June 9, 2018. My granddaughter, daughter and myself visited Rollingcrest-Chillum Splash Pool. The weather was reported to be raining so we cancelled going to an outdoor kiddie movie at the National Harbor. We had so much fun in the pool early that afternoon. Then there was a life changing event for a young boy who needed attention. He was limp and assisted by a lifeguard nearby while taken from the water. While it could have been a quicker response, the lifeguards were there to assist. I prayed for the life of this boy, and was quite happy to see his legs move. I saw police presence and I heard that the boy's family was called and he was able to walk out of the facility on his own. The lifeguards I saw were teens whose experience to this degree was, I would guess pretty much their first. They need to be commended and encouraged. I'd like to thank the staff I encountered, as they acted very professional for the most part. I give praise to God for this positive ending situation. We stayed at the pool to enjoy the rest of the day because the situation had been resolved with efficiency. Let me add that when you hear whistles and when the lifeguards are asking that you: walk, not run slide down one at a time not to hang over the hot tub breaks (I found not more than necessary) no over extensive horseplaying that you adhere to the regulations. They are in place to keep you safe. Rules are necessary and you never know, it may vey well save somebody's life, even yours..... read more

We visited this in the spring because we just couldn't wait for the outdoor pools available in the summer. This indoor pool and splash park is year round. There are a bunch of water slides for tots-adults to enjoy. My daughter is not super cool about water falling on her head, so she actually didn't really like the tot slides because to get to the slides, you had to go through sprays and waterfalls. But there were lots of different pools, both shallow and deep, that we enjoyed. There is a small locker room (bring a lock) if you want to leave stuff behind while you play. No photos are allowed in the pool area, so it's hard to find a lot of images online to know what to expect. But we had a lovely time and babies - teens could have a fun time here. It is a very nice pool and the separate areas give space for children, teens, and adults. I particularly like the fact that you walk into the pool and gradually go into the deeper areas without having to use a ladder. I also like the fact that at a quarter to the hour all the children have to leave the pool and let the adults swim for 15 minutes. They also have a very nice hot tub. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of their Winter hours - they don't open the pool until 4pm which means you have to fight the rush hour traffic to get there and get home. read more

We've taken the kids to swim at this indoor pool in the winter and also hosted a birthday party here. It's a great set up - ideal for elementary school and younger kids. There's a baby pool with a "pirate ship" that's loads of fun, plus several older-kid water slides in a play pool for that's a few feet deep, and a deeper area with an obstacle course and slide for those who swim. read more

I gave this a fair try... But there are TOO MANY RULES. And the lifeguards need to be more friendly and smile one in a while. They were so rude. One told me I could take a picture of my daughter (there were only like 5 people in the WHOLE facility) the lifeguard said I could. And the supervisor came up to me and pretty much chewed me out. The lifeguards looked pretty bored and didn't look like they were watching the water. I would like it more if they got rid of some ridiculous rules and were more friendly. read more

My kids and I (ages 4 & 6) go here several times a year. We love it! There are plenty of safe areas for the younger ones, who aren't quite swimming on their own. Also, there are a lot of trained lifeguards, sitting at different positions and elevations, in order to have a view of the entire indoor pool. I can't say enough positive things about this place. A spacious pool and splash park, divided so that many events can happen at the same time. A Great pool for all ages. "Drop-in" Water Aerobics with no registration hassle is a real highlight for me. This past weekend I threw my sons first birthday at Rollingcrest-Splash Pool and I have several complaints. 1. When I reserved my date I was not told where my party room was, nor was I told that once the pool is full that no more guests would be allowed in - INCLUDING MY PARTY GUESTS. 8 people were turned away because of this. 2. My party was held at the indoor pool and it was torture. The amount of chlorine in there had everyone's eyes burning! It felt like a sauna. Everyone was complaining. 3. To get to my party area you had to walk around the entire pool and go up about 15 steps or so. I wish I had been taken to the party areas and told where my area was going to be because my 84 year old grandmother struggled to get up the steps. Overall I am not pleased with Splash Pool nor will I be visiting this pool again. read more

My son went to this water park for a birthday party today. He said "I don't understand why people say in the reviews that the lifeguards are mean. I literally had a blast there!" Very active kids should know that there is 45 minutes of pool and slide time and a 15 minute break each hour. His favorite part was the obstacle course where there were green floating pads with monkey bars made of rope above the pads to hang on to. He would highly recommend it for most families and he had a very fun time there. read more

Please stay away from this pool !!!!! My group attended this pool over the summer many time and could not have been any more disappointed each time!!! The staff was unfriendly and rude ,feces and throw up in the pool which we had to sit out and play in the baby pool !!! The Manager (male) is disrespectful and doesn't care about any one ! They make you watch a pool "rules " video which they have 21 rules for you to remember. Like children can remember 21 rules. The dress code is absurd and the pool is not clean! They try to mask it with smell of chlorine! Pool area for kids under 3 is ok but other play area is lacking!! Building is dark and would highly recommend other better pools in the area !! read more
