Woah woah!! might just be my new favorite, Wednesday night stop! 1/2 off wine bottles, great food and lots of wonderful people - you just can't really beat this. Alex, our server, was incredibly knowledgeable and stellar at ensuring we had a wonderful meal. The restaurant wasn't overly busy, which I enjoyed. I was very happy to have a nice, calm, paced meal without the hustle and bustle similar of that to nearby restaurants. The vibes were exactly what we needed! We really like Romacelli. Stopped in for a couple drinks recently but we've eaten here several times and the food has been good. I like the pesto pasta with tasso but the real underdog here is their pizza. The carnivore / meat lovers pizza is one of my favorite pizzas in Lafayette. Loved my first visit to Romacelli! It was a rainy Thursday and I wanted pasta. Loved the aesthetic of the restaurants. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I started with a cocktail and had mussels for an appetizer. The mussels were delicious. For my entree I had the shrimp scampi. It was an excellent choice full of flavor. I just felt well taken care of throughout my entire meal. I ended with cheesecake. I will be back to try more of the menu. read more

FOOD: The food was all around delicious! I recommend the burrata appetizer SO GOOD with especially with their peta bread! As far as the pastas go they weren't anything crazy, I would get something different next time. My bfs pizza was good! It was different and fully of flavor! He also added hot honey on it! The only thing was that they were out of a couple menu items which was a little annoying. SERVICE: Everyone there was super nice and attentive, the service all around was good, but we also went around 5 with was a dead time too! AMBIANCE: The vibes were really nice. Interesting place. Very nice Christmas set up in the bar area. Some lights were out throughout the restaurant and the walls were pretty scuffed up. Very cool brick oven for pizzas in the kitchen. Restroom facilities needed some work. Service was wonderful. However, the menu had some items listed that were technically no longer on the menu which was a little disappointing. The food was okay for what was ordered. I would definitely come back for lunch and grab a salad and maybe some wine. read more

Romacelli's was the first restaurant my family ate at when we first moved to Lafayette in 2021 and we thought it was great. Present day 2026, the restaurant has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. The service is lack luster. Our waitress seemed disengaged and we had to prompt her to bring drinks, appetizers, the food, etc... The only time she operated with vigorous is when she brought us the check. My husband and I ordered shrimp scampi. We expected a rock butter and white wine sauce, with strong notes of garlic. Instead we were met with a bowl of angel hair pasta, 8 shrimp that look like the frozen kind you purchase at rouses and a ton of black pepper sprinkled over the entire dish. Completely underwhelming. Sadly, a few of their show great potential such as the tomato bisque, goat cheese spread, and a couple of pizzas. I just want this restaurant to thrive again. read more

Sat at the bar. I ordered house wine. What is listed as house wine on the menu is not the house wine served. Their house wine is a $6 bottle of wine. Look at attached picture. Are you kidding me??? And the bartender was rude. Paid for my $6 glass of $6 a bottle wine, and my wife's Italian mule which was a weak ass pour. I didn't drink that Godawful wine. Too bad. I wanted to try the food but would the quality of the food been equal to the quality of their Boone's Farm category house wine? Doubtful. Writing this from Bonefish, nearby and SO much better. We live in the neighborhood so we've been here quite a bit. The food has always been good, but our meal tonight was delicious! There are new owners and they're doing an awesome job. Our party had the hummus, salads and pizzas. The cauliflower pizza was fantastic! And our server, Taylor, was phenomenal. She did a wonderful job. New favorite pizza joint! Updating this review. This used to be my favorite restaurant in town. But the new owners ruined the experience. They got rid of almost all of the staff, including my favorite bartender in town, Angela. She was always so friendly and efficient. Now it's like a revolving door of service staff, none of whom measure up to the level of service I experienced in the past. The owners clearly don't know what they're doing, and it shows. read more

First and last visit today at lunch. AMBIANCE was very bland. Carpet is stained and worn and the walls need fresh paint. Suggestion would be a warm beige vs the stark (but dirty) white they are. Tables had no candles or vases. FOOD was so/so. Hubby had Chicken Alfredo and I had lasagna. No bread served. I asked for fresh basil to come with my lasagna. I had to re-ask after it was served. Had to also ask for salt. Would have loved fresh grated Parmesan cheese, but it wasn't offered. When we asked for it, she brought a shaker with Kraft style Parmesan cheese. Our drinks were not refilled or asked to be refilled. Very disappointed. SERVICE- Server was polite, but VERY inattentive. Every time I'd (have) to ask for something, her reply was "I got chu". Food... 8/10 veal pasta dish, goat cheese dip and sweet Caroline pizza.. Zoe,,, our waitress... 1/10 had a dick drawn/tattooed on her forearm. Roll your sleeves down. Took 5 minutes to get her to take drinks... then tried to walk away. We had to prompt for our appetizer... goat cheese dip. Again ... once the appetizer was delivered she tried to walk away again... dude... we are ready to place our order, probably like half of America once the appetizer is put on the table. Ask us if we are ready. Literally didn't want to work. She was back messing around with 3 other servers by the kitchen. One of the guys grabbed her arm and acted like he was eating it. She literally was so far away for so long I was just watching her to hopefully get her attention. This is why nobody wants to tip anymore... you would've got more if you "served" us. Like servers do. I'm not sure what to say about Romacelli other than the owners, managers and line cook should be utterly embarrassed by their food. What I received from them was not fit for human consumption. I ordered from here without any expectations of getting a fabulous meal.I hoped, at most, for something decent for dinner. What I received was like nothing I had seen or smelled before. The Brussels sprouts were burnt to a crisp, very greasy, somewhat slimy and even had what appeared to be the scrapings from the bottom of a pan mixed in them. See picture below. I didn't dare try them. They were simply too unappetizing. The caprese salad consisted of two slices mozzarella cheese topped with mushy slices of tomatoes, drenched in a liquid that I could only assume was olive oil purchased from Dollar Tree. The liquid substance poured on to the cheese slices looked like it had shavings of brown mowed grass in it. I didn't try this mess either. I was afraid of what the brown shavings were. Disgusting. I also ordered pasta and meatballs. Since this was the only item of the three that looked like it may be edible, I decided to give it a try. I suppose whoever put this particular meal together didn't want to break the trend of nastiness they had going because the pasta and meatballs were equally disgusting as the rest. The meatballs were so old they were flaky in the center. Imagine biting into a meatball and it crumbles like corn flakes in your mouth. I was grateful I was at home trying this garbage for the first time because I had to spit the food out of mouth to avoid vomiting. The entire meal, if you can call this that, was utterly disgusting. The only thing Romacelli has going for it is the location. And let's be honest, even that's a bit of a disaster. The parking is, well there is no parking. You will drive around, get frustrated, park wherever you can, walk to the restaurant and prepare yourself for something that I can only describe as the worst food I've ever eaten. The absolute worst. Is it possible to give negative stars? If so, I'll give Romacelli negative 5 stars. read more

Their burrata is to die for. All I had was their burrata appetizer with their primadonna vodka martini and I was so very satisfied. Romacelli has become one of my top two favorite places to eat in Lafayette. Also, if you are someone to look for atmosphere or a "vibe"... Romacelli is most definitely your place. We celebrated our anniversary here, and was very impressed, we had a reservation and was promptly greeted and seated. Our server was very friendly and we were able to order our starter which was the Mediterranean hummus which was delicious, bread was warm but the cucumbers made for the best dipping experiences. We ordered our mains which took a bit longer than usual to arrive, and we received it before our salads, flavor and great customer service more than made up for that. The caprese salad was great with the fresh tomatoes mozzarella cheese and balsamic vinegar. The margarita pizza was outstanding. On to the mains I had the salmon with pea risotto and Brussels sprouts for the side which was one of the best sides I've had, the salmon was overcooked but not dry and was still delicious, the pea risotto was a let down however, the Tuna was very good, met all flavor expectations. Really bad!!!! Make sure to check your bank statements! Seems server added an additional $10.00 to the $20.00 tip I left on a $104.00 bill. Bad experience in food and service especially since it was slow and only a few tables occupied. I ordered pasta with no protein but it honestly tasted like windex and the herbivore pizza was served cold no way it was freshly made. When I complained about the pasta dish tasting funny they said oh thats just how it taste? No, Ive had it before! Wow, couldn't believe that response so I felt the service was poor yet felt a $20.00 tip was reasonable in light of bad experience! But wait, I get my statement from bank and noticed the bill had been padded! SMH I call the manager on duty and he cant apologize enough and says for your inconvenience I will take care of the ticket for you and so I gave him ticket number. He sends me a confirmation email and refunds only the $10.00 I was fraudulently charged ? They will never get another $$ from me! read more

Beautiful area! Been to Lafayette numerous times as we live not to far from this city but never heard of this restaurant. Our son loves Italian food and it was for him so we looked up restaurants online. Reviews we read didn't seem to positive but we thought it was delicious! Serving size was not what we have had before at other Italian restaurants. But still very good! I would go back given a chance. Service was good, we choose to eat outside because the weather was perfect! Second restaurant I have been to recently that has waitress or waiter wait for the card to pay for the food. So be prepared for that. Not sure if at this particular place was because we were outside or not? read more

This place is so hit or miss. I've been 3 times in the last year and 2 haven't been the best experience. I got a sandwich yesterday and it came out with all kinds of stuff (tomatoes and pickles) that were not on the menu description. It took forever! I lived in Lafayette about 18 years ago for a few years. This was a regular sometimes weekly stop. So when I just moved back and found out it was still open I had to go. Unfortunately it's definitely not what it was. I was extremely disappointed. The beginning of the experience wasn't bad. But while eating our appetizer while sitting at the bar we watched the guy I'm guessing was the manager come to the bar and make himself a drink in a styrofoam cup. Still none of my business so I just kept that to myself. Then I go to order my meal which I wanted to get a pizza to which the bartender said they weren't making pizzas? huh? there was a guy sitting across the bar from me literally eating a pizza. At that point I was mad. So you're not serving literally one of biggest parts of your menu? ok. I chose not to order anything else. My husband went ahead and ordered. His food came it it was almost not edible. There was enough oil in the bowl that I could have done an oil change on my truck. Then another worker came to the bar where the bartender literally filled up his styrofoam cup up with vodka. And yes he was still working. Then...the bartender told a worker at the bar if she would make her a pepperoni pizza....and she said YES! And started making it....what the actual....bleep! The literal worst place I've walked into in my few weeks back. Theres clearly a drinking problem amongst the employees, poor customer service and a don't care attitude. It appeared they were going out of business and I hope that's the case. Just horrible. read more

Romacelli was wonderful!!! We were invited by friends, but, were very reluctant on this, our first visit, because of reviews - they were a reflection of past management. This place has been amazingly turned around! Romacelli has been under new management and new staff for 8 months, and have become a superb dining experience! Food was delicious, well prepared, and service by Ms. Avery was attentive, kind, and friendly. The hostess was sweet, and even the manager came to visit! We enjoyed cocktails, pizzas, both styles of hummus, and tiramisu, while dining outside in one of the nicest outdoor seating areas in the area. Romacelli is a winner all around! read more

This place was a cute spot with a good view when sitting outside. The outside area was comfortable and had plenty of seating. Inside was also decorated cute and had a decent amount of seating. Our appetizers were good- the melted goat cheese & olives was my favorite. I was not the most please with my osso buco, it was not that flavorful and sort of a let down. It looked like it was going to be awesome and they have a nice sized portion, but it just wasn't there with the flavor for me. I'd recommend this place for a date night, group dinner or a solo dinner. read more

Pizza terrible. They only offer 4 different sandwiches No muffalota anymore. Had the shrimp sandwich also. No taste. Nasty bread. 4 little shrimp. Overpriced food. Will not come here ever. It's a shame. Used to offer a better selection of food in River Ranch. So sad. Really liked this place. The atmosphere is real nice. Service was terrible . Two small glasses of water. The reason for our visit was to celebrate a birthday. 11people and A BRAND NEW WAITRESS. A mess. Why would management put a spanking brand newly hired waitress to a party this big. Let's not even begin to discuss the nasty uncleaned women's bathroom. Yep disgusting. Told management the bathroom was a disaster and nothing. Now let's get to the food. Several dishes were returned. Just not up to par. No apologies. Just a would you like something else. Shoulder shrug and whatever. Burnt pizza. Several of them. And for the finale.....A SUPER HOT MESS. Bills and credit cards got mixed up. Once again a new waittress not trained enough. Management definitely had to you know finally come in at this point. Girl was drowNing. Then had the nerve to be crying. And once again... Here management having to finally come in and you know...help. The entire staff was not nice. Didn't smile. Looked unbothered. Really impressed with the new and improved Romacelli's. We went many years back and it was good. The new decor, delicious menu and excellent service make it an easy choice for Italian cuisine. Only downside is the open floor plan creates a somewhat noisy environment. Not sure what can be done to fix that. All in all, a wonderful dinner. We'll be back! read more

Slower for lunch than dinner! Possibly slower than 6 months ago..... Just go down the street to another place

Sat in outdoor seating area. Not very busy early evening. The table had about a quarter inch of dust and grit, obviously not having been cleaned in a while. The hostess just dropped the menus and eating utensils right into the grit. We sat for an extended time with no waiter and finally asked a passing waiter to clean the table. He did clean it BUT only the half we sat at, the rest you could draw pictures in the dust. The menus were covered as were the napkins. Our real waiter finally showed up and was pretty bad. Slow with everything and he even stated he didn't want to be there. How did this place pass the board of health inspection? Food was ok but dirty and poorly staffed restaurant, worst I've ever been to. read more

Amazing homemade bread! Highly recommend a sandwich! Lots of delicious flat breads too! Hummus is good with their naan!
