Classics like butter chicken, tandoori chicken (on the bone) and naan were some of the best I've ever had. And the prices are good too (for London.) My only advice is to order extra rice unless you're on a low carb diet. The servings of rice are a little smaller than I'm used to in the US. Seek out this place if you love Indian food.

We have been many Indian food in different countries and this is one really bad in terms of quality and taste. Luckily for me I moved to East London and found Lavang Spice (or Victoria Park Tandoori as it was then called) where I've been eating now for about 8 years. In that time I've not once had a bad meal. The curry here is seriously tasty, cheap and the service is friendly but often a bit slow. I strongly recommend the house specialities menu although everything here is good. A lot of places tend to rely on making your dish so hot you can't taste how bad it is or dish up soggy bland curry. The food here is spicy, well cooked and comes in generous portions. Despite being recently renovated the decor is still pretty basic but the food and friendly staff make up for that. Not somewhere to impress a date but a great place for a big meal or a long relaxed evening. Once you're seated the table is yours all night as they wouldn't dream of hurrying you away.
