I brought in two sofa back cushions I wanted replaced with down filing from the poly-whatever. Steve Hipsman gave me a very reasonable price and promised it would be the goose down that I wanted, explaining how it would wrapped around a core inside, and it would be about a week. He completely kept his word. A week later they were ready, and he even showed me the goose down label (instead of the inferior duck down). They're great and now we love the sofa. read more

They did my chairs and cushions and did an amazing job. They even worked around my time schedule to meet my needs!

Won't answer phone. I used them 20 years ago and they were great. I have been trying to get a hold of them for a new project for nearly 3 weeks. I have left at least 10 messages. I have received 3 voicemails back asking me to call Steve's cell phone (which I have, also no answer; also left messages), the last one asking me to give a call time. Don't let Steve's rather untidy workspace worry you. He has years of paper records that he doesn't throw away because he wants to be able to reference any customers past orders and that's the attention he pays to all of his clients and work. I constructed a built in corner couch for my daughter. She wanted a cloud like feel for her base cushions. I'd never been to Roman upholstery and there aren't a lot of reviews for them but they were pretty local. I met Steve there and within minutes he pulled out a sample of exactly the type of base cushion my daughter wanted. Within minutes I'd chosen a cover fabric and got the price which was pretty good. He gave me a 2 week lead time. Exactly 2 weeks later I got the call they were ready. I picked them up and installed them. My daughter fell on to the cushions and knew from her smile they were perfect. She's pretty much shunned her bed now and sleeps on the cushions. read more

I couldn't be happier with the beautiful job these folks did on my 10 year old recliner! The chair had great bones, but it definitely needed recovering and padding. Their workmanship is impeccable, and they also took the time to lubricate the mechanisms so the chair no longer squeaks. Steve wasn't just as nice as he could be, he was honest about what they could and couldn't do, so I didn't waste a lot of time and money trying to get the job done quickly. And everyone/everything was on time as promised. It might have been cheaper just to buy a new chair, but I now have EXACTLY what I wanted and will be able to enjoy it for at least another ten years. read more

I contacted this business to have a few vinyl cushions reupholstered at a medical office. The whole way through I have worked with Steve. He sent me a quote the day I contacted the business. The following day he brought me tons of sample colors so that I could pick the color I wanted. Since this is a medical office we have tons of patients. He was able to arrange a weekend pick up of the cushions and a Monday very early morning installation so that no patients were interrupted. The cushions look absolutely wonderful. We decided to only have two of them reupholstered to make sure they came out nice. We are now contacting Steve to have the whole couch done (11 more backs to the couch). Steve and his staff at Roman Upholstery did a fantastic job re-upholstering our favorite leather chair. We're tremendously pleased with the work, and we recommend them enthusiastically. Initially, we had taken the chair to another upholstery shop that had done a terrible job. We knew we needed a better quality upholstery shop to get the result we wanted, so we took the chair to Roman and asked them to redo it.
