While the others seemed like salesmen, Chris was straightforward, but his expertise shined through! He wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive...just right - like Goldilocks. The painters are all long term employees curated over 30 years and it shows! The crew was 3-5 people and they were very well organized, friendly, and most of all, hard working! The crew lead, Javier, was like a master overseeing his apprentices while working harder than everyone. Chris came on site several times over the week to check on things as well. I was amazed by all the prep work the crew did and well they cleaned up at the end of each day! Chris says the prep work is the most important part painting and it pays to do it right. His experience is vast and helped us select our colors from our finalists along with advising on some other non-painting related work we needed done such as sandblasting, roofing, and gutters. We really felt like we were is good, capable and honest hands! I write very few online reviews...only for truly exceptional service which certainly applies to Exterior Specialists! Seeing the high ratings, we decided to hired Chris and his team from Exterior Specialists and are extremely pleased with the results. TL;DR: - Chris and his team are both efficient/ultra fast and skilled at their jobs (finished in a week, half the estimated time, and produced very high quality work) - Great work ethic from his team: on time, flexible, and clean (everything was organized and put away at the end of each day), despite scorching hot weather - Able to repair eaves (whether it be refurbishing or replacing) to be brand new - Chooses highest quality paint and won't get any paint on surfaces you don't want it on (the ground, lights, other decor) - Chris has great taste when it comes to choosing a color scheme for your home More Details: Firstly, Chris has great artistic taste in terms of what colors to choose to best fit your home. Our vision for the project was to refurbish our home to become more modern, which meant choosing a different exterior paint color. Unable to decide which colors to choose, we asked Chris what colors he would recommend. Not only was he able to immediately recommend different colors, but the color scheme he chose for us fitted our home perfectly and was exactly what we had in mind. Chris and his team's work is of the highest quality. Many of our home's eaves had been damaged by termites and needed replacing; many of the wooden boards were not only very high up and hard to reach, but also very large. Yet, he said it was no problems and his carpenters were able to make our eaves look brand new. They even went beyond replacing the badly damaged boards and helped sand and fill in the rest of our eaves! The paint was also of the same level of quality. Chris will help you choose the most premium paint that both looks nice and is more grime resistant than other paints. His painting team is highly skilled: there are no paint bubbles or flakes, no messy streaks or flecks to be seen, and they'll make sure any lights or decorations on the exterior walls are removed or completely covered. The greatest merit of Chris and his team, however, is their work ethic. We were in the middle of a heat dome when they started work, meaning temperatures were in the high 90s to 100s all day. Despite the unpleasant weather, Chris's team would arrive on time every day and work with no complaints. The workspace was always kept clean and organized at the end of each day; upon finishing, they made sure the surrounding area was extra clean. The most surprising thing is, the team was able to finish the project in a week, a whole week faster than the original 2 week estimate! It is amazing how quickly yet masterfully they were able to complete the work in these summer conditions, and we thank them for all their hard work (not to mention that they were able to start work a day or two after Chris's appraisal). His team is also very flexible. We initially weren't planning on repainting our garage since it was newer, but after seeing how it looked with the new colors, we decided we wanted to repaint it as well. Even though they were wrapping up when we asked them, they were able to immediately purchase the needed paint and still finish on the same day! We cannot more highly recommend Exterior Specialists to work on your house: you won't be disappointed!

Arteen is an owner-operator who takes pride in his work, and the quality shows. We've had many paint jobs done in different homes over the years, and his attention to detail really stood out. He was careful to keep everything clean before and after painting. For example, he removed every light switch, outlet, and fixture, cleaned them, and carefully put everything back. We were impressed enough with his attention to detail that we also asked him to take care of some additional home improvement work that wasn't related to painting. He was flexible about working around other vendors who were in the home at the same time, and he communicated clearly throughout the project. We always knew when he would be there, what he planned to accomplish, and what had been completed. He is also a genuinely nice person and a pleasure to have around. We would definitely recommend Arteen and will certainly call him again for future projects.

With such a stellar reputation on Yelp, I am surprised that he initially tried to pressure me and then ghosted me.

I had gotten 3 estimates before I found Miguel and let's just say that Miguel offers extremely reasonable prices. Two of the quotes I received were at least double of what Miguel quoted me. Miguel is easy to communicate with and reviewed all the work I requested. I wanted new flooring, wall paneling removed and smoothed out with new paint, change of all the fixtures and exhaust fan, change the shower door and mirror, and add a recessed light over the shower. He provided the quote and we agreed to a payment plan. He informed me of everything that I needed to purchase on my end and have ready for his team when they arrived. They were punctual and very respectful of the space and clean as well. You can tell Miguel really takes pride in his work and even went above and beyond what we originally agreed to. I also asked him to change out the vanity in the guest bathroom as a last minute request and he was able to help me with that too. Overall, we had a wonderful experience working with Miguel and his team and will definitely call him for any future projects!

I never thought my first (great) review would be for a contractor... but here I am! Couldn't be more pleased with the work Shay and his team did for us. A burst pipe and subsequent damage necessitated an overdue home office remodel. We were having trouble booking a Remediation company as it was a relatively small job. When Shay came to give me a written estimate on the repair/remodel, he said let me make a call. The work was done 2 days later, at a better price. Recessed lighting, closet update, damage repair, new flooring, base and crown molding. A brand new room. Communication was strong and everyone was wonderful to work with. This one is of a wall that was not previously there! This was my open dining room we converted into a room for my daughter!!! It looks like it's always been there!!!! They made her a pocket door so she wouldn't lose floor space because it's a small room! So much better than the curtains we had hanging from the ceiling! Please don't ask me about price. From the initial contact with Shay, the process of remodeling our bathroom seemed seamless. Right in our home, Shay assisted us in the design, providing photo images of completed projects that assisted in our decisions. I recently had Romano Builders tear off the wood shingles in the front of my house and replace with insulation and stucco. I couldn't be happier with the job they did. There was no up-selling, their bid, was consistent with two others I had and the work was excellent. They were easy to deal with, and I would certainly recommend them and use them again! We've interviewed a few home builders, checked out their work and reputation, and eventually decided to go with Gil, Oren, and the whole team of Go Home Builders. Working with the insurance was a pain, luckily Gil had experience working with Allstate insurance before, and he helped us a lot getting the money we needed to rebuild our home. The planning process took a bit longer than what we initially planned for. The county of LA took their sweet time approving our plans. Fortunately, after 2 sets of revisions we were fully approved. The construction wasn't bad at all, they had plenty of guys working on our home at the same time. The only time there was no work, was on inspection days. The finishes was one thing that was extremely important for us. My wife and I are detail oriented and wanted to make sure we're choosing the right company to do the finish work correctly. All I can say is that they exceeded my expectations. Overall the beginning of the process was extremely emotional challenging, but the whole team of Go Home Builders made us feel like we're not alone. My wife and I are very grateful for them. Go Home Builders did a wonderful job with our primary bathroom remodel. We interviewed multiple…read morecompanies and went with GHB since they seemed the most design-forward and client-friendly of the bunch, and gave us a reasonable quote too. I had a rough vision in mind for fitting a lot into a relatively small space, but wanted to see the options rendered so I could better make the big layout and design decisions. Alexis was very patient and super helpful in mocking up each iteration until we locked in the final design. Once it was time to actually break ground, Gil, Oren, Uriel, and the rest of the team were really responsive and always available by text. Unlike previous contractors we've worked with, they usually gave us an idea of what was happening the next day/week and who to expect onsite. The first ~70% of the project went really smoothly and far exceeded my expectations. Demo, framing, rough plumbing, and electrical all largely went without a hitch. We ran into some problems towards the end around communication, timeline, and subcontractor oversight -- which led to more delays when someone punctured our new in-wall toilet tank and flooded both the bathroom and bedroom. We know every construction job runs into challenges so we weren't bent out of shape by it, and we did appreciate that GHB took full responsibility for fixing the issues. By and large we were really impressed by most of their subcontractors, especially the very professional and considerate plumbing, electrical, and tiling teams! After living with our new bathroom for a while now, we can definitely say it was worth the wait, and such a huge improvement over our previous dysfunctional layout. Thanks to GHB for their great service, amazing attitude, attention to detail, and for bringing the bright, colorful bathroom of my dreams to life!

Mid-Project Review - AGA Construction…read more We're officially about halfway through our kitchen and dining room renovation with AGA Construction, and we've been extremely happy with the experience and progress so far! This was a pretty extensive renovation that required taking the kitchen and dining area down to the bones. From the start, the AGA Construction team handled the demolition quickly and efficiently, and once everything was opened up, they immediately got to work on the important things you don't necessarily see in the finished product. In just about two weeks, they've tackled the major electrical and plumbing work, brought necessary items up to code, installed new recessed lighting, completed drywall, and have already started/completed the new flooring. It's pretty incredible looking back at the photos of the original kitchen, then seeing the walls and ceiling completely opened up, and now seeing an entirely new space beginning to take shape. A huge part of making the process go so smoothly has been our project manager, Micky. He has been great about guiding us through everything step by step, explaining what the team is working on, answering our questions, keeping us informed about what comes next, and helping us navigate all of the decisions that come with a renovation of this size. Having that communication has made a potentially stressful process feel much more manageable. We're only midway through the project, but it already feels like we've gotten through the hardest and least glamorous part--the demolition and all of the electrical, plumbing, code, drywall and infrastructure work behind the walls. Now we're getting to the exciting part where we can actually watch our new kitchen and dining room come together! So far, we've been very impressed with AGA Construction, Micky, and the entire crew for how quickly and efficiently they've kept everything moving while still keeping us informed throughout the process. These photos show just how much has changed already, from our original kitchen and dining room, through the demolition and behind-the-walls work, to where we are today. We used AHI to revamp the exterior of our house. Before the improvements, the stucco on our…read moreexterior walls had a heavily-textured, slap-dash look. It had a tendency to collect dust in the grooves, and it gave the house a dingy, run-down appearance. Some parts of the house also needed paint. We were not totally sure how to go about improving the house's appearance, but we knew we wanted that texture gone, plus we needed some of the eaves and windows painted. We started speaking with a few different contractors. We decided to work with AHI because of the positive reviews, and because they gave us a very detailed estimate, which seemed like a fair price. We primarily worked with a project manager named Eli Shemer, who was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He made sure we understood the steps and timeline, and helped us decide on a direction for improvements to the house's appearance. He was proactive about checking in with us and making sure there were no issues, and always returned any calls/texts quickly. In the past, we had negative experiences with other contractors taking a very long time to even begin a job. But Eli and his team were very quick to start the job, and they maintained a very good speed of work to complete it. Now that we see the finished result, we can't believe that we didn't decide to do it all sooner. The exterior looks vastly improved with a smooth stucco look and an impeccable paint job on all the wood details. Curb appeal achieved! We definitely recommend working with them.

Eddie Nisali and his teams were excellent to work with and did an especially outstanding job on our kitchen. It was stuck in the 1970s, with orange countertops and dark brown cabinets that were falling apart, but Eddie's teams brought it into the 21st century by installing beautiful, modern cabinetry and recessed lighting. Eddie's top priority is making sure the work is beautiful and that the customer is truly happy with the result. He's sincere in this goal, and his genuine care helps create a low-stress, positive experience throughout the project. Every team member we interacted with was fantastic. The designer, demolition crew, plumbers, electricians, cabinetry installers, and welder, all delivered exceptional work. Special shoutout to Santos and his sons for their excellent work and professionalism. Eddie also helped with financing and was easy and professional to work with throughout the payment process. If he sees something he doesn't like or feels wasn't done correctly, he has no problem telling his crew to rip it out and redo it until it meets his standards. That level of attention to detail gave me a lot of confidence throughout the project. Another thing I really appreciated was how organized and respectful they were of the property. Every day when they finished work, they made sure everything was cleaned up and their tools were organized in one designated spot instead of being left scattered around the property. Not once did they leave the place a mess, which was very impressive considering how long the project lasted. The project took about eight months to complete. Like with any construction project of that size, we had a few misunderstandings along the way, but Eddie was always easy to get a hold of. He was very communicative and always took the time to answer questions and explain things when needed. Something else that I liked was that whenever Eddie had to step away from the project, he would leave one of his sons in charge on site. That made it easy to communicate with someone who was there and knew what was going on with the work while Eddie was away.

The house was perfect but definitely needed some TLC. Open Hand Remodeling did a great job building our large hardwood deck on the hill. They used Brazilian Hardwood, which is absolutely stunning, their engineers make sure it would be properly built. Couldn't be more pleased. Open Hand also remodeled the interior bathrooms, kitchen and main house hardwood and Porcelain flooring. The craftsmanship and professionalism is 2nd to none. The process was not perfect 100% of the time, but the hiccups were communicated responsibly by the project manager. Overall the project was completed ahead of schedule.
