Neil & Dean really were excellent and held our hand through the entire process. We have several properties here in Los Angeles and we did a variety of projects from retrofitting one of the house houses to.. HVAC , main panel box upgrade. Electrical rewiring and cosmetic touchups.. They helped us find reasonable financing. The communication was good. They answered all of our questions. I would rate them 10 out of 10 very pleased..

My wife and wanted to add a 500 sq foot addition to our home in Monrovia. We interviewed about ten different contractors at the beginning of the process. The biggest obstacle with a lot of contractors is that many have a hard time communicating the process and all the steps involved. When Elon came for his initial consultation, my wife and I were really impressed with how well he walked us through the whole building process and what we needed to look out for. His explanation of the whole building and payment schedule convinced us to go with Romano Builders. During the building process, the high winds and fires hit. Thankfully we only had to evacuate for half a day. However, he winds did some serious damage to our water heater that was not related to the building process. As a result of the damage, we had no hot water and we would not be able to continue living in our home during the construction process. I was really impressed by how Eli, the owner of the company, came out and tried to fix the water heater himself. He spent a lot of time and effort when he didn't have to. Once he realized the water heater was permanently damaged, he rearranged the building process and preinstalled a new water heater into a temporary location so we would have hot water during the building process. We saved a ton of money because we didn't have to check into a hotel. Later, there was a problem with our AC. Once again, Eli came out and really got his hands dirty trying to solve the problem. My wife and I noticed that their main goal throughout the building process was to make us happy. They also are really good at the permitting process. For some reason, the City of Monrovia was really dragging their feet when it came to approving the plans. I went down and checked myself and they kept delaying the process because the plan checker quit. On the day they were supposed to approve the plans, the city once again extended their timeline another couple of weeks. Eli went down there and got the plans approved the same day. This made the project move more quickly. Part of the addition was a new bathroom. Their attention to detail really had an impact on the final result. The outcome was magnificent. Every contractor has to sub out certain jobs. I noticed that all the guys they work with are extremely meticulous. I can't recommend them enough. One final thing. We wanted to remain living in our home during the building process. Many contractors said no because it's a major inconvenience for them. Water and electricity must be turned on and off more frequently when the house is inhabited during the building process. Plus, they have to put up all these dust barriers they ordinarily wouldn't have to if the house was vacant. But Elon was very accommodating. We did not have to go without water or electricity for more than a four-hour period during the whole building process. Actually, we did not have electricity for four days after the winds and fires, but that had nothing to do with them. That was our whole neighborhood. Now that all the work is done, I have to say that I would recommend Romano Builders in a heartbeat. We even recommended them to a friend of my wife for a small job during the building process in Highland Park and they delivered there as well. As far as cost, I thought the price of construction was very fair. They broke everything down in a payment schedule and we paid as every part of the schedule was completed, so there were no surprises along the way. I realize that my review is a bit wordy, but I just wanted to leave a thorough review. I noticed that some people say these reviews are fake. My name is Eddie Trujillo, and I live in Monrovia, California. Just in case anyone doubts the validity of my entry here.

I've vetted over 15 construction companies. I checked reviews, I looked up their licenses. At the end of the day, you need to trust your gut. It was important to me that who I went with had workman's comp insurance, had their license for over 10 years, and had no complaints against their license. Talk to your friends or family and ask them how their experiences have been with GCs. It's usually not positive. It was basically impossible for me to get a recommendation, which is why I had to look on my own. So there's extra anxiety spending a lot of money with someone you've never worked with and someone who didn't come with a personal referral. Believe me, I went through A LOT of sleepless nights before I landed with Romano Builders. This project was 2 big jobs. An ADU remodel, from a previous garage. Also redoing our living room in the main house. The previous owner did some really shady work, that we ended up re-doing the right way so that it was permitted and safe. When I met Eli (owner of Romano Builders) originally, he seemed like a good guy and that he knew his stuff. He took his time to come out and look at my needs. He asked a lot of questions, reviewed our design plans. He provided a quote when he said he would. He wasn't the least expensive, and he wasn't the most expensive. Before I signed on with them, I also toured a couple of active jobsites and spoke with other home owners. They had nothing but good things to say about Eli or the quality of the work. We started work in April and wrapped up in October. We definitely had plenty of surprises along the way -- all of which were the very "interesting" ways that the previous owner decided to do things. Eli was always upfront and honest as we went, and always explained things to me in terms I could understand. His workers were all nice to deal with, and we never had any issue with one of them not respecting our home or our space. Overall, I am very pleased with the work. I would 100% recommend Romano Builders to anyone looking for home construction work. Not everything was perfect but we're human and when something wasn't to my liking they jumped on it right away. Also, they added a TON of value on several aspects of the projects along the way. If there was a small change or something that the plans slightly overlooked -- there was never any nickel or diming. Beyond overseeing the work at the house, Eli also worked closely with the city to handle all the inspections. He was at the jobsite every day without fail. Whenever I had a question, he was always just one call or text away. Always upbeat and nice too. You gotta remember whoever you go with, you're gonna deal with them A LOT -- if they are an a-hole, you're gonna be miserable for MONTHS. You will be very happy with the work from Romano. Go with Eli.

This is our beautiful kitchen, thanks to Romano's Builders!

Romano Builders did an incredible job of installing new countertops, repainting and reinstalling drawers and cabinets, as well as installing new appliances. The process was easy and on time. Alon was especially helpful, visiting often to make sure it all got done as we expected. Angela in the office did a wonderful job of scheduling all the activities and keeping us posted about progress. Thanks so much!

Our experience with Romano Builders was beyond amazing! We decided to remodel our kitchen, and from the first meeting we felt that we are choosing Romano builders with a lot of confidence. The high level of professional, best communication, patience, and detail oriented for every single thing was unreal. There was not a single day pass by without workers coming in on time, after we got a office call day before telling us what is the scope of work and who is coming. I have no words that can describe our happiness and the high level of the quality kitchen we have. If I will need any other remodeling in the future Romano builders will be definitely my 1st choice. Thanks for the all team that make our dream to reality.

While the others seemed like salesmen, Chris was straightforward, but his expertise shined through! He wasn't the cheapest nor the most expensive...just right - like Goldilocks. The painters are all long term employees curated over 30 years and it shows! The crew was 3-5 people and they were very well organized, friendly, and most of all, hard working! The crew lead, Javier, was like a master overseeing his apprentices while working harder than everyone. Chris came on site several times over the week to check on things as well. I was amazed by all the prep work the crew did and well they cleaned up at the end of each day! Chris says the prep work is the most important part painting and it pays to do it right. His experience is vast and helped us select our colors from our finalists along with advising on some other non-painting related work we needed done such as sandblasting, roofing, and gutters. We really felt like we were is good, capable and honest hands! I write very few online reviews...only for truly exceptional service which certainly applies to Exterior Specialists! I highly recommend them for exterior painting.

After being rejected by other…read morepainters who said our house was too tall (it's 2 stories tall) and old we, searched through Yelp. Seeing the high ratings, we decided to hired Chris and his team from Exterior Specialists and are extremely pleased with the results. TL;DR: - Chris and his team are both efficient/ultra fast and skilled at their jobs (finished in a week, half the estimated time, and produced very high quality work) - Great work ethic from his team: on time, flexible, and clean (everything was organized and put away at the end of each day), despite scorching hot weather - Able to repair eaves (whether it be refurbishing or replacing) to be brand new - Chooses highest quality paint and won't get any paint on surfaces you don't want it on (the ground, lights, other decor) - Chris has great taste when it comes to choosing a color scheme for your home More Details: Firstly, Chris has great artistic taste in terms of what colors to choose to best fit your home. Our vision for the project was to refurbish our home to become more modern, which meant choosing a different exterior paint color. Unable to decide which colors to choose, we asked Chris what colors he would recommend. Not only was he able to immediately recommend different colors, but the color scheme he chose for us fitted our home perfectly and was exactly what we had in mind. Chris and his team's work is of the highest quality. Many of our home's eaves had been damaged by termites and needed replacing; many of the wooden boards were not only very high up and hard to reach, but also very large. Yet, he said it was no problems and his carpenters were able to make our eaves look brand new. They even went beyond replacing the badly damaged boards and helped sand and fill in the rest of our eaves! The paint was also of the same level of quality. Chris will help you choose the most premium paint that both looks nice and is more grime resistant than other paints. His painting team is highly skilled: there are no paint bubbles or flakes, no messy streaks or flecks to be seen, and they'll make sure any lights or decorations on the exterior walls are removed or completely covered. The greatest merit of Chris and his team, however, is their work ethic. We were in the middle of a heat dome when they started work, meaning temperatures were in the high 90s to 100s all day. Despite the unpleasant weather, Chris's team would arrive on time every day and work with no complaints. The workspace was always kept clean and organized at the end of each day; upon finishing, they made sure the surrounding area was extra clean. The most surprising thing is, the team was able to finish the project in a week, a whole week faster than the original 2 week estimate! It is amazing how quickly yet masterfully they were able to complete the work in these summer conditions, and we thank them for all their hard work (not to mention that they were able to start work a day or two after Chris's appraisal). His team is also very flexible. We initially weren't planning on repainting our garage since it was newer, but after seeing how it looked with the new colors, we decided we wanted to repaint it as well. Even though they were wrapping up when we asked them, they were able to immediately purchase the needed paint and still finish on the same day! We cannot more highly recommend Exterior Specialists to work on your house: you won't be disappointed!
